Chapter 40

In the morning, when Liu Yunxuan got up, Garcia and Rodriguez were already working in the cowshed.

They lived in the workers' quarters on the ranch. Liu Yunxuan had asked them to move into the villa to live with him, but they refused adamantly.

Liu Yunxuan had no choice but to let them be, as the conditions in the workers' quarters were actually quite good.

After being washed by the flames, there was no way out; today he still had to take this guy to apologize.

When leaving, Flame always wanted to run fast, as it had already regained the feeling of running yesterday. Liu Yunxuan didn't dare let it run wild outside, for fear it might get lost again.

Riding Flame slowly, Liu Yunxuan truly felt the joy of horseback riding.

Sitting on the horse, feeling the spring breeze blowing in his face, he was very comfortable. It wasn't necessary to gallop wildly to enjoy the ride; the feeling of leisurely riding was also great.

First, he went to his neighbor, Kate Ranch. He had also visited when he first took over the Garden Ranch.

The owner of Kate Ranch was named Alan, and the ranch was named after his wife, Kate. His daughter was studying at the University of Texas, and Liu Yunxuan had never met her. His son, Adam, was 13 years old and a real troublemaker.

"Alan, I'm really sorry. Yesterday, Flame and I disturbed the cattle on your ranch. This is a gift to express my apology," Liu Yunxuan said, handing over a bottle of whisky he had taken from the basement.

He didn't like this stuff. He had opened one bottle, taken a couple of sips, and found the taste strange. The rest were given to Garcia and Rodriguez, who said it tasted good.

"Li, it's no problem. Such things can't always be avoided. Besides, it's good for my cattle to get some exercise," Alan said, winking.

"Great, this is old Hudson's whisky. I've been eyeing his whisky for a long time. Thank you so much, Li. Let's go inside and sit down," Alan said happily when he saw the whisky in Liu Yunxuan's hand. He had asked Hudson for a long time but never got to drink it, and the miserly Hudson had actually left it for Liu.

"Flame, stay in the yard and don't run around," Liu Yunxuan patted Flame's buttocks and followed Alan into his house.

"Mrs. Alan, you look so well, it's hard to see the passage of time on you," Liu Yunxuan said to Kate, who was pouring him coffee.

Kate was in her fifties and didn't have the common obesity of American women. Instead, she maintained a good figure from often riding and working on the ranch. It was clear that young Kate had been a beauty.

"Alan, I really envy your good luck," Liu Yunxuan said to Alan.

Alan had a very open personality, and he had learned from others that marrying Kate was the greatest success of his life.

"Of course, she is the greatest achievement of my life. Even if I were given any treasure in the world, I wouldn't trade her," Alan said, unable to resist the praise.

Kate smiled, showing that their relationship was very good.

"Mr. Liu, can I see your Flame?" Adam, the troublemaker, asked as he came downstairs.

"That's not a good idea. Flame has a bad temper. Even Garcia can't get too close. You need to stay away from it, or it might hurt you," Liu Yunxuan quickly stopped the troublemaker. If this kid provoked Flame and got hurt, it would be a big problem.

"Can I at least take a good look at it when you're around? I saw it in the yard just now, and I really like it," the troublemaker asked, not giving up.

Liu Yunxuan thought that if he was there to calm Flame, it should be fine. "Okay, but don't touch it. When it gets angry, even I'm scared."

"Li, your Flame is really amazing. I saw it running yesterday. If trained well, it could be a good racehorse," Alan said.

"That's hard. Now, Flame only lets me ride it. Others get close, and it gets angry," Liu Yunxuan shook his head. It was easy to imagine that if Flame and other horses were on the track, it wouldn't be a race but a fight.

"That's too bad. The offspring of a champion horse is very valuable," Alan said regretfully.

Then Liu Yunxuan chatted with the Alan family.

At this moment, a young woman walked in from outside the villa and asked Alan, "Dad, is the red horse in the yard one of our new purchases?"

"Sweetheart, how do you have time to come back today?" Alan didn't answer and introduced her to Liu Yunxuan, "Li, this is my daughter, the pride of Kate Ranch, Michelle."

"Hello, Michelle. I just heard your father mention you. You are even more beautiful in person," Liu Yunxuan said.

Michelle had long golden hair tied back in a simple ponytail, fair skin, and a beautiful face that clearly inherited her mother Kate's genes. She wore a denim jacket over a tight T-shirt. Her development was quite impressive, and Liu Yunxuan couldn't help but look a bit longer.

She wore tight jeans that hugged her long legs and round buttocks, and a pair of small leather boots. She looked both charming and a bit wild.

Michelle didn't mind Liu Yunxuan's rudeness and said to him, "Li, hello. I know you. You are the new owner of Garden Ranch, and you are working on organic vegetable certification, right?"

Liu Yunxuan glanced at Alan, who shrugged and asked Michelle, "Dear, how did you know? If I remember correctly, this is your first time meeting Mr. Liu."

"Of course, it's the first time. But don't forget, I'm a student at the University of Texas. The certification work involves one of our professors," Michelle explained.

During the first inspection, one of the inspectors was a professor from her college. After returning, they chatted, and the professor mentioned a young Chinese ranch owner. Since the ranch was a neighbor to their own, Michelle recognized Liu Yunxuan when she first saw him.

"Li, I wish you success in your organic vegetable certification. It will be a glory for our Palm Springs," Alan said.

"Thank you, Alan. I just don't want to grow corn. The price of corn is too low now," Liu Yunxuan shook his head. Agriculture in the United States was advanced, but it wasn't very profitable, and many relied on government subsidies.

"Dad, you haven't told me if the horse in the yard is one of our new purchases. It's so beautiful," Michelle asked again, seeing her father forget to answer.

"Its name is Flame, and it belongs to Li," Alan said.

"Mr. Li, can I ride it?" Michelle asked Liu Yunxuan.

Looking at the girl's beautiful face, Liu Yunxuan felt a bit of a headache. If he refused too directly, would it be inappropriate? Well, Liu Yunxuan admitted that he really couldn't bear to refuse. But he wasn't sure about Flame. After thinking for a moment, he said, "We can try. Now, Flame only lets me ride it. It has a bad temper. If it doesn't accept you, I can't do anything about it."

"Li, you are so biased. Are you trying to pursue Michelle?" Adam, the troublemaker, said, dissatisfied.

Hearing Adam's words, Liu Yunxuan blushed. Alan and the others didn't mind much. Their daughter was beautiful, and many people pursued her. It was up to each person to win her heart.

Alan was quite satisfied with Liu Yunxuan. He looked good and was a ranch owner, but he didn't know if he was single.

"Let's go outside and see Flame," Liu Yunxuan, feeling very awkward, changed the subject.
