After calming down the workers, Liu Yuxuan drove back to the ranch with Allen.
To his surprise, Charlie was already there, now showing a white man in his twenties around the large tortoise.
"Charlie, my friend, I didn't expect you to arrive so early," Liu Yuxuan said after parking the car.
"Hey, Liu, let me introduce you to Robert Brow, the accountant. You can call him Robert," Charlie stopped watching the tortoise and introduced him, "His family is a very famous accounting family."
"Hello, Robert, welcome. I'll be counting on you to handle things from now on," Liu Yuxuan said politely.
"Don't underestimate him because of his youth. His great-grandfather was the famous Carm Brow in American accounting history. This is his first time handling business independently, and we got a great deal," Charlie reminded him carefully.
"Liu, you are truly amazing to have such a large tortoise," Robert said in surprise.
"It's just good luck; it crawled here on its own and decided to stay. This big guy eats a lot and is quite picky. It's been a headache for me," Liu Yuxuan shook his head and said.
The group went inside, and Liu Yuxuan briefly explained the factory situation, telling them he had decided to buy the factory and was just waiting for the loan.
"Oh, that's a small matter. Charlie and I will go to the Citibank in town this afternoon," Robert said nonchalantly.
He didn't think it was difficult, just a normal loan process. He even thought Liu Yuxuan should borrow more, at least $600,000, to double the amount.
Liu Yuxuan didn't know what Robert was thinking, "Then I'll trouble you both." He then asked Charlie, "Charlie, how much should Robert's salary be?"
"That depends on what you and Robert agree on, but it's generally no less than $100,000 a year," Charlie thought for a moment and said.
"OK, Robert, how about $150,000 a year, plus a bonus at the end of the year?" Liu Yuxuan didn't hesitate after Charlie's suggestion.
"Thank you so much. I'll take care of the company's tax issues. There won't be any trouble," Robert said happily. Although his family was famous, this was his first time handling business independently. "You can set up an offshore company to make future operations easier."
"I don't understand these things, so I'll leave it all to you," Liu Yuxuan thought, since he didn't understand it anyway, he couldn't let such a high salary go to waste.
They had a simple lunch at the ranch and in the afternoon, Liu Yuxuan took Charlie and Robert to the Citibank in town.
"Hello, you must be Liu from the Pastoral Ranch. Welcome to our Citibank. I will be responsible for your business. My name is Jack. If you have any dissatisfaction in the future, you can directly request a change from the bank manager," the client manager Jack said as soon as they mentioned the loan. Liu Yuxuan was surprised that Jack actually knew him.
"Hello, Jack. The loan matters will be handled by my lawyer and my accountant," Liu Yuxuan didn't say much, afraid of saying something wrong that might affect the loan.
"Oh, okay. Can I see the documents?" Jack asked, then pressed the internal communication button and said, "Jasmine, bring a cup of coffee for our three distinguished guests."
Everything went smoothly. After reviewing all the documents, Jack said there were no issues and that the loan would be disbursed the next day after the procedures were completed.
Liu Yuxuan was surprised by how smooth it was and asked, "Don't you need to investigate me?"
"Of course not. The loan amount isn't large, and we can handle it independently here," Jack explained, seeing that Liu Yuxuan was still puzzled, "Oh, you probably think we're being too casual."
"It's not like that. We have basic information on all the ranch owners and businesses in town. That's why I recognized you on your first visit."
"I hope you don't mind. We didn't send anyone to investigate you. You know our town isn't big, and you are quite famous. We've always hoped you would become our client."
"Here is my business card. If you need anything in the future, you can call me."
Jack handed over his business card with both hands.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I don't have my own business card. If you need my cooperation, you can call the number in my documents," Liu Yuxuan really didn't have a business card, not having printed one in China or the U.S.
After saying goodbye to Jack, the three of them left the bank.
Is this the difference between developed and developing countries? The loan process was so smooth, and Jack seemed eager for him to take out the loan. When he found out Liu Yuxuan didn't have a credit card, Jack immediately opened one for him with a credit limit of $100,000.
"Charlie, is the service at American banks always this good?" Liu Yuxuan asked.
"Pretty much," Charlie explained, "Actually, these client managers have very low base salaries. They mainly rely on performance. You can think of it this way: as long as you do more business with the bank, you can treat him like a free assistant. If your assets reach a certain level, the bank will assign you a dedicated personal assistant to help you with bank affairs and provide services, all for free, of course. But the minimum asset requirement is at least a few million dollars."
"Indeed," Robert, being an accountant, had more dealings with banks, "Citibank does a great job with customer service. They often hold events, and you can choose to attend the ones that interest you."
"When you become a millionaire, you'll have the chance to get a Centurion Card, which is a symbol of status," Robert said enviously. He really wanted one, but they don't accept applications. You have to have a certain level of economic strength and status before they invite you to apply.
Liu Yuxuan felt that Robert's addition was a bit far-fetched. He was currently in debt by $300,000, so he wouldn't think about that legendary card just yet.
After returning to the ranch, there was nothing else to do, just waiting to sign the contract with Powell.
The next two days, Charlie and Robert had a great time, often riding horses around the ranch. When they were bored, they would tease the tortoise. In the evenings, they would go to the cowboy bar for a drink.
The signing went smoothly, and they finished all the documents in just over two hours. The factory manager Charlie found also came over. His name was Blake, who had previously managed organic fertilizer production, and his salary was reasonable at $80,000 a year.
The rest was simple. Blake was familiar with the production process of organic fertilizer, so all the work was entrusted to him.
Only one production line needed to be modified, while the other would be used to produce feed from the excess earthworms.
It seemed that the earthworms that drank the space water had a stronger reproductive ability. There were now many earthworms in the cow dung pile, and they basically finished processing the pile in less than a week. They were now waiting for the factory to start production.
