For the first time becoming a man with a gun, Liu Yuxuan was excited for a long time. He even had Garcia take many photos with his phone.
Rodriguez's craftsmanship was excellent. The next day, he had already made the holster. It wasn't just a simple holster but a long chaps with an American Western style.
After Liu Yuxuan put it on and inserted his revolver, his hand naturally fell to the gun handle.
"Rodriguez, your craftsmanship is really great." Liu Yuxuan praised while giving Rodriguez a thumbs up.
"Boss, it's not that good," Rodriguez unexpectedly shook his head and said, "The leather wasn't tanned well. When we slaughter a cow ourselves, we'll get a better piece of leather and make another one for you."
Liu Yuxuan was speechless, wondering if Rodriguez had to be so serious. But having such a dedicated worker wasn't bad.
"Hey, Liu, I'll be bothering you for a few days. I've already taken leave from my mentor. My graduation thesis will be about the giant tortoise." While talking to Rodriguez, Michelle pushed the door open and walked in.
Seeing Michelle again, Liu Yuxuan remembered the kiss, and his eyes naturally drifted to her lips.
Noticing where Liu Yuxuan's eyes were looking, Michelle said with a mix of embarrassment and anger, "Liu, you promised me, you can't go back on your word."
"Oh, of course, you can do whatever you want. Anyway, that giant tortoise doesn't like to move much after eating; it just lies on the grass and basks in the sun all day." After Michelle asked again, Liu Yuxuan quickly replied.
"Hmph, that's better." With that, Michelle swayed her slim waist and left.
Liu Yuxuan watched Michelle walk out the door, thinking to himself that he really should find a wife. As if hearing his thoughts, Rodriguez said, "Boss, Michelle is a nice girl."
Liu Yuxuan was stunned for a moment, not expecting Rodriguez to be so perceptive.
"Hey, Rodriguez, if you have the time to worry about me, why don't you think about yourself?" Liu Yuxuan countered.
"Me? I have a girlfriend, and Garcia has a girlfriend too. Cowboys find girlfriends early," Rodriguez said.
"What? You both have girlfriends? Why have I never heard you mention them?"
"You never asked. We were afraid that if we told you, you might want them to come work here too," Rodriguez explained.
"Really, you've got me there. It seems Garcia was right; you're not the same person now. No, that's not right. Anyway, you're not as shy as you usually act," Liu Yuxuan said firmly.
"Boss, if there's nothing else, I'll get back to work. You can think about it yourself," Rodriguez said with a smile and walked out.
Having worked on the ranch for a long time, Rodriguez understood Liu Yuxuan's character. He was a good person who didn't mind a bit of joking around.
In the yard, Michelle was busy with the giant tortoise, and Flame stood by, watching curiously. It seemed this girl was really fascinated by studying the giant tortoise, even neglecting Flame.
Liu Yuxuan watched Michelle for a while but couldn't help much, so he wandered over to the vegetable garden. Many vegetables were almost ripe, and he didn't know when the certification would be completed.
Just as he was thinking about it, Garcia led a group of certification inspectors to the vegetable garden.
"Hi, everyone, my vegetable garden is pretty good, right?" Liu Yuxuan waved to the group.
Unfortunately, no one paid attention to him; they just did their job. Liu Yuxuan felt a bit awkward.
"Don't worry, boss. If it wasn't good, they would have notified us already. They wouldn't have come so many times," Garcia comforted his boss.
"By the way, boss, I heard from Rodriguez that you and Michelle are dating? Michelle is indeed a good girl."
Liu Yuxuan was taken aback. What did he mean by "dating"? He didn't know about it. And why did he hear it from Rodriguez?
Liu Yuxuan's face turned from white to red and then to black. Seeing his boss's expression, Garcia realized he might have said something wrong and quickly excused himself, "Well, boss, I'll go back to work. The cattle need to move." With that, he ran off.
Liu Yuxuan was speechless. What was wrong with his workers today? He didn't know that this was all Allen's doing. Allen had asked them to probe Liu Yuxuan's feelings for Michelle when they had the chance.
Michelle didn't know that her father was already trying to match her with Liu Yuxuan and was still busy moving the giant tortoise's claws.
Back in the house, Liu Yuxuan, bored, went online. He wasn't just browsing but looking up information about organic vegetable certification.
It was fortunate he did, as he noticed that just growing organic vegetables wasn't enough. The packaging and transportation processes also had to be free of contamination. At first, he thought it would be like selling cabbages at home.
He then looked up organic vegetable packaging manufacturers online. Fortunately, there were many, and some were in nearby cities.
He called the manufacturer and consulted them. Fortunately, it was still in time. They could sign a preliminary contract to confirm the quantity if the certification was successful. During the certification, they could show this preliminary contract.
It was a good thing he was bored and went online. Otherwise, if he had overlooked this and affected the certification result, he would have had nowhere to cry.
At this point, the certification personnel had finished their work. One of the professors knew Michelle and brought the group over to see the giant tortoise.
"Michelle, are you planning to become an animal scientist?" the professor asked Michelle, who was playing with the tortoise.
"Oh, Professor Lyle, sorry, I didn't see you just now. Have you finished your work?" Michelle asked, having been so engrossed in her research that she hadn't heard Professor Lyle's question.
"Yes, we came to check the environmental changes and take some samples. We're done. And you? I heard your graduation thesis is about this giant tortoise?" Professor Lyle answered and then continued.
"Yes, Professor Lyle, this giant tortoise is very special. It's a land tortoise, but it's not afraid of water. I hope you can keep it a secret until I finish my thesis, as the owner doesn't want too many people to come and disturb it."
"Really? That's incredible. Don't worry, I'm looking forward to your research. You know, animals and plants have some commonalities. Your research might give me some inspiration," Professor Lyle said with delight.
"By the way, how did your tests go?" Michelle asked seemingly casually.
Professor Lyle didn't think much of it and answered, "Pretty good, the nutrient content is high. If the samples we took back maintain the same results, the certification should be complete."
At this point, Professor Lyle paused and leaned in to whisper, "And there's a good chance it will be awarded the USDA label." He then winked at Michelle.
"Professor Lyle, I was just asking casually," Michelle said, blushing as if her secret had been discovered.
"Oh, I understand. I didn't say anything. Go ahead and study your tortoise. We'll be leaving now." With that, he left with the group.
"Hmph, I'll make Liu cook some Chinese delicacies," Michelle thought to herself angrily.
The giant tortoise didn't care what those people were doing. It now realized how wonderful its life was. When it was hungry, it ate; when it was full, it slept. It could even take a bath in the lake when it had nothing to do. Life as a tortoise was perfect, of course, except for Michelle's constant fussing.
