It can be said that Tian Xiaomei had never spoken to Wang Tiancheng like this before. In the past, Wang Tiancheng would have kicked her away, but now he no longer had the means to do so. He glared at Tian Xiaomei, his fists clenched tightly, but he did not make a move. He knew what he was to her.
"Stinking woman, you’re really shameless," Wang Tiancheng said simply, and slapped her. He didn’t need to think about it; how could he be so stupid as to not consider this? With his father’s downfall, a woman like her would still follow him—what a dream. Wang Tiancheng had seen through the other side of human nature.
Tian Xiaomei was spun around by Wang Tiancheng’s slap and stopped, covering her face. She glared at Wang Tiancheng angrily and said, "Wang Tiancheng, what are you being so arrogant about? Your father is finished, do you think I don’t know? Even if you chase after me now, I won’t bother with you." As she spoke, she grabbed the man she had been with earlier, looking at Wang Tiancheng defiantly.
Wang Tiancheng was speechless. Yes, his father was out of power, with no money or influence left. What was there left to boast about?
"Kid, get out of here quickly, or you’ll regret it. I, Liu Dashaoye, am not someone to be trifled with," Liu Feng said, waving his fists. The young man with Tian Xiaomei was Liu Feng, the only son of the Liu Group in Nancheng City. He had heard about Wang Tiancheng’s father’s situation that morning, which gave him the courage to visit Tian Xiaomei early in the day.
As soon as Liu Feng finished speaking, several big men appeared at the door. Wang Tiancheng recognized them; they were the guys who used to hang out with him.
But Wang Tiancheng knew they were not there to support him. Sure enough, one of them looked at Wang Tiancheng as if he didn’t recognize him and said, "Kid, if you don’t leave now, don’t blame us for being unfriendly."
Even though Wang Tiancheng was a good fighter and these guys were no match for him, he had no mood for it. His father was missing, his girlfriend had broken up with him, and his friends had betrayed him. What could be a greater blow? Wang Tiancheng pushed past the men and walked out.
After leaving the karaoke bar, Wang Tiancheng felt extremely dejected, with no place to vent his frustration. He drove his car recklessly, wondering why things had turned out this way. If he could start over, Wang Tiancheng would rather be an ordinary person, work, find a girlfriend, get married, and have children. This was why he drove to the overpass and encountered Liu Lingling.
Wang Tiancheng returned from his memories to reality, sitting in his car and looking at the beautiful Liu Lingling outside. Her uniform wrapped around her tall, sexy, and charming body, making her look incredibly beautiful.
The car started, and Wang Tiancheng drove at high speed. He wasn’t insensitive; his feelings for Liu Lingling hadn’t changed. But he had no mood for such things now. The only thing he wanted to do was find his godfather, no matter where he was, even in the county, and work hard to continue his father’s path.
Of course, it was still early, far from nightfall. Wang Tiancheng had nowhere to go, so he returned to his master’s gym and vented all his anger on the treadmill.
This made his master, Wu Hu, very heartbroken, not just for Wang Tiancheng but also for his fitness equipment. But Wu Hu knew he couldn’t say anything. Even though Wang Tiancheng’s father had fled, Wu Hu wasn’t a fence-sitter. While his kindness to Wang Tiancheng in the past had been partly due to his father, his kindness now was purely out of the master-disciple relationship.
Wang Tiancheng got off the treadmill and sat down on a chair. Wu Hu handed him a towel and said, "Come, let’s have a drink today." Wu Hu then walked to the kitchen and returned shortly with a bottle of liquor.
In the past, Wang Tiancheng wouldn’t have bothered eating at home, but now things were different. He felt that he had wasted so many years, and he had no real friends except for his master.
"Come, take it. Don’t drink too much today; I’m making an exception. Each of us will have three cups," Wu Hu said, lining up six one-ounce cups on the table and filling them.
This surprised Wang Tiancheng. It was just three cups of wine; what was the big deal? He looked at Wu Hu, picked up a cup, and drank it down smoothly.
Wang Tiancheng felt an unprecedented comfort. The wine was a bit sweet, and it felt like his entire body was bathed in a spring breeze. He felt that this wine was definitely different and drank the remaining two cups.
Wu Hu seemed afraid that Wang Tiancheng would take the wine, so he drank the remaining three cups in quick succession and then put the half bottle back in the kitchen.
"Do you know what this wine is called? It’s called Brain-Clearing Power Wine. It can clear your mind and increase your strength. Come, let’s have a fight," Wu Hu said, getting into a fighting stance in the living room.
Wang Tiancheng liked the name of the wine but was skeptical. Apart from feeling more comfortable, he didn’t feel anything else. Seeing his master in a fighting stance, he approached.
Wang Tiancheng usually sparred with his master, Wu Hu, to improve his skills, but today it felt different. His master’s punches were unusually heavy, forcing him to use all his strength each time. And each time Wang Tiancheng used all his strength, he felt his power increase.
After more than an hour, Wu Hu stopped and said, "Now, try that barbell."
Wang Tiancheng was skeptical. That was a 400-pound barbell. He had tried to lift it before, but it hadn’t budged. Now his master was asking him to move it, but he still walked over, grabbed the barbell, and, to his surprise, lifted it easily.
"This is too amazing. Master, give me a few more cups, and I’ll go straight to the Olympics," Wang Tiancheng said excitedly, not believing how effective the wine was.
"Do you think it’s just water? This is a legacy from our ancestors, and there’s only half a bottle left. I gave you some because you were in a bad mood, but forget about it," Wu Hu said, turning back to close the kitchen door, as if afraid Wang Tiancheng would go after the half bottle.
Actually, Wu Hu wasn’t being stingy with the wine; it just couldn’t be overused, or it would be too much for the body to handle. Wu Hu was doing this for Wang Tiancheng’s good.
Wang Tiancheng was just talking, not expecting his master to be so sensitive. He couldn’t help but laugh, and he didn’t even notice that the unhappiness of the day was slowly leaving his mind.
"Master, tell me about our ancestor. How could he have such a powerful thing?" Wang Tiancheng asked with great interest, smiling and pulling a chair for his master, Wu Hu, to sit on.
