Old George's ranch may not be large, but the training grounds and stables are well-maintained, saving a lot of trouble. Li Han and Will arrived early and took a tour, gaining a better understanding of the place.
"Han, this is really great," Will exclaimed excitedly after the tour. Compared to most farms in the town, the facilities here were much better.
"Thank you, Old George," Li Han was quite satisfied. Family farms rarely had such a proper training ground. "Maybe we should take a few laps."
"Han, that's a great idea. Maybe Old George can have another cup of coffee," Will was already eager. They went to the stables, where Will led a Quarter Horse, and Li Han followed suit. The two mounted and galloped off.
"Han, this Quarter Horse is really great," after three laps, Will patted the reddish-brown Quarter Horse. Its speed and responsiveness were far superior to his own small straw hat horse.
"George is a true cowboy," Li Han nodded in agreement. Although there were only three horses, it was enough. He was a bit sad that George was leaving.
Li Han led the horse along a path, heading to one side of the farm. As he observed, he became increasingly satisfied with the farm. The scenery was truly beautiful.
George's farm was close to the forest and a lake, especially near Yellowstone Park. It wasn't suitable for growing crops, but the hillside was a vast pasture, covering over a thousand acres. The lush grass made it a great place.
"Will, you should give it a try. I think it's a great idea," Li Han said with a smile, looking around. The scenery was indeed beautiful. He had heard that Old George's farm was the most picturesque, and it was true. The brick and stone house resembled a small castle, with a large garden and well-maintained lawn. It was a wonderful place.
"Han, this is really great," Will rode around the pasture and returned to Li Han, excited. "Will, George is waiting for us."
"Yes, George must be very sad," Will and Li Han coming to take over the farm was the most sorrowful thing for George. "It's a pity the cattle and sheep were sold. It's really a shame," Li Han looked at the empty cattle sheds and sheep pens, feeling regretful.
"Hank, Will, how about a cup of coffee?" George had packed his luggage and placed it in the living room. The old white man's face showed a hint of melancholy, perhaps due to leaving a place he had lived in for many years.
"Of course, it's a great house," Li Han looked at the tall fireplace, the brick and stone hearth showing signs of age, and the living room was very tidy. The furniture was spotlessly clean. Before entering, Li Han had seen cleaning tools outside the yard, perhaps Old George had cleaned up the night before or that morning.
"Hank, thank you for liking it," George held a small coffee pot and sat opposite Li Han and Will, pouring them each a cup of coffee. "It's really great coffee." Li Han and Will had a cup of coffee with George, and the car outside started, urging George to leave.
"It's a pity, I have to go first," George picked up his luggage, intending to leave. He placed the keys next to Li Han's coffee cup, with the handle facing Li Han. Li Han and Will stood up to see Old George off. He was a great old man.
"It's a pity that George is gone. I hope he can come back to Comstar Town sometime," Li Han sipped his coffee, feeling a sense of loss. If not for the diamond, he might be the one leaving now.
"Han, God will bless him," Will didn't show much sadness, watching the car drive away. "Oh, Han, George left you a gift. You might like it."
"A gift?" Li Han was a bit puzzled. Following Will to the farm's garage, Li Han saw the gift Will mentioned—a small airplane. "This is really great. Thank you, George. May God bless this respectable old man."
Many farms had small planes, but Li Han didn't have the money to enjoy such luxuries. He was eager to try it out. "Han, it's a pity, but it's damaged. Maybe we should find Kelly."
"That's a pity. Kelly is truly an angel," Li Han smiled. Repairing a small plane would cost a few hundred dollars, and he was grateful to George. The price of a small plane wasn't too high, around two to three thousand dollars for a new one. Li Han hadn't thought about this before.
"Han, maybe we can buy a new one." "No, Will, I don't need one right now. This is enough." Getting a new plane would require some paperwork, and Li Han didn't have the time for that.
Will stayed for a while and then left. Li Han wandered around for a bit, thinking he had seen all the rooms and decided to go outside. The farm was quiet, with only two Quarter Horses.
Li Han looked around and came to the stables, leading a horse and riding around the farm. The crops had been harvested, and Li Han didn't pay much attention to them. The weather was nice, and he felt relaxed. He didn't rush back and led the horse to the lake. The dock, made of high-quality pine, was several meters long, and there was a small boat on it. "This is really great. Fishing here would be perfect. Dad would definitely love this place."
Li Han's father loved fishing, and this was an excellent spot. Li Han thought about it; the only downside was the distance from the town, but otherwise, it was great. After a long walk, Li Han rode the Quarter Horse back to the farm. Doudou was released, and the little guy had been playing in the space, not wanting to come out last night. When the space opened, Li Han fell to the ground, surprised by the little guy. "What happened? You're all dirty."
Li Han picked up Doudou, whose face was covered in mud, and his clothes and shoes were even worse. The little guy was holding a handful of dirt. He must have been playing in the mud. Li Han looked around the space and was stunned. The space had completely changed. The white soil now looked like a flower cat, with patches of black and white. The white powder, which was like crushed stones, was now half gray-black soil.
Li Han found some vegetable seeds and tried planting them in the space. He had been exploring the space's capabilities. Taking advantage of the time, he found some tools and entered the space. Doudou followed with big eyes, curiously grabbing the seeds from the burlap bag and scattering them. He got hooked and started tilling the soil. Li Han noticed that Doudou was surprisingly good at sowing seeds.
The little guy, wobbling, scattered the seeds evenly, looking quite pleased. He was a natural. Sowing seeds and watering, Li Han watched from the side, finding it quite interesting. In no time, they had cultivated a plot of land and planted vegetables.
After a busy morning, Li Han and Doudou left the space and returned to the living room. Li Han started educating Doudou, buying a complete set of infant tutorials for him to watch. In the afternoon, Li Han received a call from Kelly, saying the pickup truck had arrived. It was a good time to buy baby supplies, especially clothes for changing. The little guy loved to imitate, acting like a dog, a duck, and a chicken, making a mess and dirtying his clothes several times a day.
Fortunately, Doudou learned quickly. Riding his Harley to the town took only about ten minutes, and Kelly was waiting for Li Feng to test the truck. "This is really great, with plenty of power," Li Han's previous pickup was a used one with poor performance.
"God, Han," Kelly was a bit angry at the speed. "Kelly, forgive me for being so excited. It's just perfect," Li Han's face was flushed, and he was trembling with excitement. The powerful engine was truly thrilling.
"Han, here are the contracts, documents, and keys," Kelly opened her bag and handed Li Han a bag containing all the necessary documents.
"Kelly, to show my gratitude, I'll cook Chinese food for you at noon," Li Han parked the car by a convenience store and got out to buy some ingredients. Fast food was too simple, and home-cooked meals tasted better. While selecting vegetables, Li Han chose organic ones, which were a bit more expensive than regular vegetables.
