Li Han packed some small cakes he made himself and went to the small town, where a well-known beer equipment company introduced by Kelly was located. The company's salesperson, Paul, brought some company brochures and several sets of small brewery equipment manuals. Li Han specifically went to learn about the several stages of beer production, and asked some questions about the materials, which he found quite satisfactory. Moreover, this company had a good reputation, so after some consideration, Li Han chose a set of equipment worth $15,000. "Han, thank you for your trust in our company."
"Paul, the time might be a bit tight, I hope we can install it as soon as possible." After finalizing the equipment, Li Han was in a good mood and said a few words as he saw Paul off. "Han, congratulations on owning your own brewery."
"Thank you, Kelly. I think you'll like the first batch of beer. Maybe you should give me a hug." Back in the living room, Kelly poured a cup of coffee and handed it to Li Han, who was sitting on the sofa. Li Han took a sip and smiled, saying, "Of course, I think no one would dislike it. Han, the cake tastes great." Kelly smiled and gave Li Han a light hug, then picked up a piece of cake, which tasted good.
"Thank you, Kelly. I think I'll buy a few more four-wheelers. Do you have any good recommendations?" Li Han took a sip of coffee, put down the cup, and sat up straight.
"Four-wheelers, they're all good in the store. You can check out the off-road models. They're reinforced, and the front and rear have additional guardrails to prevent deformation from collisions with cattle or horses." Kelly got up and pushed an off-road four-wheeler in front of Li Han, giving him a detailed introduction.
"Great, can I take it now?" Li Han stood up, came to the four-wheeler, and carefully inspected it. It was solid and sturdy.
"Of course, Han, you can try it out." Kelly handed Li Han the key, and Li Han took it for a spin. The engine was powerful, and the ride was very stable with good shock absorption. "Great, Kelly, I'll take these few." Li Han was very satisfied. The few four-wheelers left by George on the farm were too old and lacked power on the hills.
"Of course, no problem, Han. The total is $30,000." The price wasn't cheap, but Li Han wrote a check and said with a wry smile, "If this keeps up, I might really have to go find Max for a cup of coffee."
"Han, I think Max's coffee has probably gone moldy by now." Kelly handed the contract to Li Han, who signed it, filed it away, and issued a receipt, handing the keys to Li Han. Some procedures needed to be handled the next day.
"That's true. Max is a jerk, maybe he's related to Obama." Li Han said with a laugh. Montana was a Republican stronghold, and they didn't take kindly to Obama.
Li Han's words made Kelly laugh heartily. "Of course, Max must be related to Obama, the damn black Max." "Kelly, let's not discuss this damn Max anymore. It's getting late, I'll head back. Pandora will be worried. Thanks for the coffee."
"Goodbye, Han."
Kelly helped Li Han load a four-wheeler onto his truck. She promised to deliver the remaining four-wheelers the next day. As he left, Kelly gave Li Han a farewell hug, which was quite nice. Li Han drove his pickup, still savoring the warmth of Kelly's hug. "There are too few vegetables in the supermarket." Li Han frowned as he bought ingredients for dinner. Perhaps he should build a vegetable garden and buy more seeds, which would be more convenient.
Back at the farm, Li Han parked his pickup and first delivered the vegetables and meat to the small house. He then took the rest to Hutton and Dina's trailer. "Oh, Dina, this saddle is really nice, great. These sets are nice, I want to buy them. How about it?"
The cows were already in the pen, and it was getting late. Hutton was cleaning and checking the cowshed and stables, while Dina returned to the trailer to prepare dinner, stewing beef and cooking corn. In her spare time, Dina sat at her workbench making saddles. Compared to machine-made saddles, Dina's handcrafted saddles were much more exquisite and expensive, but some farms preferred the machine-made ones. A piece of high-quality leather was on the workbench, and it was really nice for making saddles.
Dina hesitated but finally nodded. "Okay, Han." "Thank you, Dina. I'll give you a price you'll be satisfied with. I'll leave the meat and vegetables here. I won't disturb your work." Li Han took the saddles and left the trailer. Dina sighed. The life of a cowboy was tough, and the pay was low. Most farms paid between $800 and $1,000, while Li Han's farm paid $1,200, which was a great boss. Most farms only provided meat, and vegetables had to be bought separately.
Li Han didn't mind. There was a lot to do on the farm, and Hutton had a lot of experience managing the ranch, so Li Han had a lot to learn. Li Han was in a good mood after getting the saddles and hummed a song while making dinner. Doudou was holding little Millie, sitting on the kitchen counter, watching her father cook with big, wide eyes. She was imitating Li Han, poking her little nose and then poking Millie. "Little Millie, be good. Doudou will feed you some meat."
Doudou was imitating Li Han, teasing Millie, but Millie wasn't happy at all. Doudou was hugging her too tightly, and Millie was having trouble breathing. Fortunately, Li Han noticed Millie's tongue hanging out and her whining when he was beating the eggs. He finally freed Millie. "Doudou, don't hold so tight, or Millie won't be able to breathe." Doudou blinked her big eyes in confusion and asked curiously, "Daddy, what is breathing?"
"Breathing, there's oxygen around us. We inhale oxygen and exhale waste gases." Li Han, who had never taken care of a child, found Doudou's questions a bit challenging but still explained. However, Doudou started asking more questions about what oxygen and waste gases were and why we need to breathe.
Li Han was overwhelmed by Doudou's many questions. She was usually well-behaved, but when she encountered a problem, she would ask relentlessly, becoming a little question machine. Helpless, Li Han turned on the TV and opened a children's educational program. Sure enough, Doudou loved it and sat on the sofa like a grown-up, eyes glued to the screen. "What a good girl. Doudou, be good and watch TV while Daddy cooks."
"Okay." Doudou nodded vigorously. "Doudou and Millie will watch TV together." Doudou arranged Millie to sit properly, and the two of them, big and small, made Li Han smile. For dinner, he stewed beef with tomatoes, sweet and sour chicken wings, and steamed eggs, all using water from the space. When he entered the space, Li Han was surprised to see that the tomatoes and peppers had already flowered and fruited. Perhaps he wouldn't need to buy vegetables tomorrow.
It had only been two days, but it felt like a month. Li Han had also noticed the changes in the flower beds in the yard. Although they had grown a lot, the changes weren't as noticeable as in the space. The soil in the space was special. Li Han muttered, unable to figure it out. He decided to finish cooking quickly, feed Doudou, and then deal with the phone call that would likely come from home. The matter of Doudou had given him a headache. Zhang Xiuying usually spoiled Li Han and often called to check on his eating, clothing, and health.
Now, Zhang Xiuying was even more concerned about her granddaughter. She asked about the little girl's age, whether she was picky about food, if she was fat, if she was warm enough, and if she was well-behaved, along with questions about Doudou's mother. Li Han was a bit distracted during dinner, and Doudou pouted, unhappy. "Daddy isn't eating attentively, not a good boy." Doudou remembered what the educational program said and now ate very properly, the only problem being that she couldn't use chopsticks well.
"Little rascal, you're the best. Hurry up and eat, take a bath, and go to bed." Li Han pinched Doudou's chubby cheeks, making her pout even higher. Li Han felt much better. After giving Doudou a bath, he would take some photos and send them over. Maybe his mother would be delighted to see Doudou and forgive him.
