"Next stop, G City East Station. Please make sure to take all your belongings with you, passengers..."
As the pleasant announcement echoed through the train, the train from M City to G City slowly pulled into the East Station of G City.
Xiao Yi stood up from his seat, turned around, and took down his small backpack from the rack. He didn't carry much luggage; he never liked to travel with a lot of bags, although carrying them wasn't too difficult for him.
With his luggage in hand, he was ready to head towards the door to get off the train. His luggage was light, and he didn't want to wait and get stuck in the crowd, nor did he want to waste unnecessary time. He had someone waiting to pick him up downstairs.
It wouldn't be good to keep them waiting for too long.
Just as he was about to leave, his brow furrowed, and a cold light flashed in his eyes.
There was a thief trying to pickpocket him.
What a fool, Xiao Yi thought, a sneer appearing at the corner of his mouth.
"Stop!"
But just as he was about to take action, a clear and stern voice came from the opposite side.
"Girl, get out of the way, don't block my path. If you want to flirt, do it another day. I don't have time today."
Xiao Yi turned around and saw a girl in jeans, exuding a youthful aura, standing in the aisle. She was the girl who had been sitting diagonally opposite him. In front of her was a man with shifty eyes, looking at her with a mocking expression.
With just one glance, Xiao Yi confirmed that this man was the one who had tried to steal from him earlier.
"You... you..."
The girl, a young woman, had never seen such a scene before. Her face turned red to the tips of her ears at the man's lewd words, but she stubbornly blocked the aisle.
"What do you mean? I told you, I don't have time today. Are you not going to move?"
The man's expression became increasingly impatient.
"Give back the wallet you stole from that gentleman."
The girl pointed to a man in a suit standing nearby.
"Wow!"
When the crowd heard the girl's words, they immediately burst into a murmur, looking at the man with shifty eyes with disdain. They quickly scattered, keeping a distance from him, and checked their pockets to see if their wallets or phones had been stolen.
"Hey, what are you talking about? Don't accuse me falsely. When did I steal anyone's wallet?"
The man's face changed, and he immediately shouted.
"I saw it with my own eyes. If you don't hand it over, don't even think about leaving. Wait for the train police!"
The girl said stubbornly, not intimidated by the man's fierce gaze.
"Fine, wait for the train police. Who's afraid of you? I'll tell you, girl, I'm not done with you today!"
The man, seeing that the girl wasn't scared, his face changed again. But seeing that no one around dared to speak up, his face turned even more sinister. He coldly repeated his words, then turned to the man in the suit the girl had pointed to, "This girl says I stole your wallet. Tell her if I did or not!"
"I... I..."
The man in the suit, startled by the man's shout and the attention of the crowd, turned red and flustered.
"What do you mean, did I or didn't I?"
The man with shifty eyes, impatient, coldly shouted.
"No... no."
The man in the suit, seeing the man's fierce expression and the warning in his eyes, shuddered and immediately said.
"Did you hear that, girl?"
The man, hearing the man in the suit's words, a smug look appeared on his face as he turned to the girl.
"You... how can you do this!"
The girl, pointing at the man in the suit, was furious. She couldn't believe that she had tried to help catch a thief, but he had turned around and accused her. She had seen the thief take the wallet from his clothes, but he wouldn't admit it.
The man in the suit, meeting the girl's angry gaze, turned red and lowered his head, still not daring to respond.
"You didn't steal his wallet, but you stole mine."
Xiao Yi, who had been watching the scene, slowly walked out and said calmly.
"Boy, what are you talking about!"
The man, not expecting someone to intervene, his face changed. When he saw it was Xiao Yi, he breathed a sigh of relief, staring at him with a fierce expression.
Xiao Yi was no stranger to him; he was also one of his targets. He had been watching Xiao Yi for a long time before finding the best opportunity to try to steal from him. However, Xiao Yi had somehow avoided his attempt, only lightly touching his clothes. So, he was confident that he hadn't stolen Xiao Yi's wallet.
"Whether I'm lying or not, everyone can see for themselves."
Xiao Yi said calmly, raising his hand and reaching for the man. The man, surprised by Xiao Yi's boldness, hesitated for a moment. In that moment, Xiao Yi had already taken out a black wallet from the man's pocket.
"Now, with the thief and the stolen goods, what do you have to say? If you want to say the wallet is yours, tell us what's inside. Everyone is watching. If the wallet is indeed yours, no one will wrong you. If it's not, I'm sorry, but you'll have to wait for the train police."
Xiao Yi shook the wallet in his hand and said calmly.
"You... get out of my way!"
The man, blocked by Xiao Yi's words, could no longer maintain his composure. The wallet was the one he had stolen from the man in the suit, and he hadn't even looked inside. Seeing everyone's gaze on him, he became even more desperate, pushing the girl in front of him and trying to force his way through.
The people around, though they understood the situation, were intimidated by his fierce appearance and didn't dare to stop him. They all stepped aside, and the girl, not expecting him to act so rashly, was momentarily stunned.
"Hey, you think you can steal my wallet and run? You're dreaming."
Just as the man was about to collide with the girl, Xiao Yi moved, grabbed the man's collar, and pulled him back.
"Damn..."
The man, feeling more and more desperate, swung a punch at Xiao Yi's face, cursing.
However, before he could finish his curse, he felt a numbness in his body, and his entire form went limp, losing the strength to speak.
"Trying to steal and run? Not a chance."
Xiao Yi looked at the limp thief with disdain and let go.
"Thank you."
The girl, finally regaining her composure, looked at Xiao Yi, who had subdued the thief, and thanked him.
"No problem, heh. I'll leave this to you. When the train police come, hand him over to them."
Xiao Yi smiled and turned back to his seat.
The girl watched Xiao Yi sit down, her lips parted as if she wanted to say something, but she didn't. Xiao Yi had handed the thief to her but hadn't returned the wallet, as if it were his. She knew the wallet wasn't his; she had seen the thief take it from the man in the suit.
Hmph, a person like that deserves to lose his wallet.
The girl huffed, looking at the man in the suit, who kept glancing at Xiao Yi, with disdain. She didn't say anything more, standing there and waiting for the train police to arrive.
The train slowly came to a stop, and the train police finally arrived. After a brief inquiry, they learned that Xiao Yi was the victim and had caught the thief on the spot. They specifically asked Xiao Yi and then took the thief away. Xiao Yi, watching them take the thief away, breathed a sigh of relief, stood up, and turned towards the door to leave.
But just as he was about to leave, he saw a girl struggling to lift a large suitcase from the luggage rack, the same girl who had stopped the thief earlier.
The girl was tall and slender, but her thin arms made her look particularly frail compared to the large suitcase.
The other passengers were busy with their own luggage, and no one noticed or offered to help the girl.
Hesitating for a moment, Xiao Yi stopped and said to the girl, "Let me help you."
"Ah, thank you!"
The girl, struggling with the suitcase, was surprised by Xiao Yi's voice. Seeing his calm smile, she blushed and nodded.
"Come down."
Xiao Yi smiled and didn't say more.
"Ah, okay."
Hearing Xiao Yi's words, the girl realized she was standing on a chair, making it impossible for Xiao Yi to reach the suitcase. She blushed and quickly jumped down.
Xiao Yi, watching the girl jump down, stepped onto the chair, reached out, and easily lifted the large suitcase. He then jumped back down and asked the girl, "Is there anything else?"
The girl, seeing Xiao Yi lift the suitcase so effortlessly, was amazed. To her, Xiao Yi didn't seem very muscular, and he looked rather slim, with a height of about 175 cm. She doubted he weighed more than 120 pounds. Her suitcase, which she knew well, contained her clothes, daily necessities, and a lot of heavy local specialties. When she had lifted it to get on the train, it had taken all her strength. Even the muscular man who had helped her get on the train had struggled to lift it, and he had repeatedly warned her to ask for help when getting off.
But seeing Xiao Yi lift it so effortlessly, as if it were a piece of clothing, how... how was that possible?
