The dark-skinned Er Meng chuckled foolishly, his drool almost dripping as he walked forward quickly, saying, "This is the largest bird's nest I've ever raided, and I've never seen such big eggs before."
"Hehe, that's right, raiding such a nest is truly satisfying," Pi Hou said with a dry laugh, his grin resembling that of a mountain monkey.
"Wow, so beautiful!" Xiao Budian Shi Hao blinked his big eyes, his long eyelashes trembling as he looked at the three fierce bird eggs, which were smooth and lustrous, sparkling with a mysterious glow. He couldn't help but feel delighted. Being the youngest, he was very curious and wanted to pick them up for a closer look.
Er Meng approached, but as soon as he touched the giant egg, he immediately exclaimed, "Ouch!" He felt a tingling sensation in his arm, as if he had been electrocuted.
"What's going on?!" The children were all startled.
On the emerald-like, lustrous eggshell, the spots and patterns shone brightly, like stars twinkling, exuding a mysterious power.
"Really powerful, the Azure-scaled Eagle is a descendant of the ancient magical birds. Even though its bloodline is no longer pure, it still carries some fragmented rune heritage in its life imprint," Xiao Budian said, his eyes wide with understanding, speaking clearly like a little adult. He studied bone scripts every day and had noticed the details.
The children were both surprised and delighted. The more powerful the fierce bird, the rarer and more noble the bloodline of the hatched chicks, which could protect the village in the future, perhaps even rivaling the sacrificial spirit.
"It's just the spots on the eggshell emitting light. Be careful not to touch those places. Put them in the animal skin bags, and we need to leave quickly," Shi Dazhuang, who was tall and sturdy, urged the others. There was no time to waste.
Clearly, they were well-prepared. Each of them had an animal skin bag, which they quickly opened and carefully placed the fierce bird's eggs inside. There were three water basin-sized emerald eggs, and the other three, except for Xiao Budian, each carried one.
"Great, I can't believe we succeeded," Er Meng said happily, his nose almost bubbling with laughter.
Pi Hou also grinned, saying, "In the future, our Stone Village will have powerful fierce birds to protect us. The chief and Uncle Lin Hu will definitely be impressed and look at us differently."
"Ouch!" Shi Dazhuang stumbled, almost falling, and was caught by Xiao Budian.
The nest of the fierce bird was lined with golden silk grass, very soft, but there were also a few cold, metallic-shining scales hidden in it. Shi Dazhuang, not paying attention, stepped on one, and his shoe sole was pierced, causing some blood to seep out, though it was just a superficial cut.
"Such sharp scales!" Xiao Budian Shi Hao collected a few of the azure scales in his hand, each as large as a baby's palm, shimmering with a cold light.
"These are the scales of a mature fierce bird, indeed extraordinary. I estimate that even a broadsword weighing hundreds of pounds would find it hard to cut through them!" Pi Hou said.
The children didn't dare to linger, descending the cliff face like lizards, quickly reaching the ground. They wiped their sweat and breathed a sigh of relief.
"How did it go? Did you have any success?" A group of children gathered around.
"We succeeded, we raided a whole nest of bird eggs, hahaha..." Er Meng laughed loudly.
The children opened their animal skin bags and peered inside, seeing the water basin-sized bird eggs, lustrous and sparkling with a mysterious glow. They all marveled.
"Great, we succeeded!"
"These are eggs from a powerful fierce bird. Our Stone Village will have flying war birds."
"Let's go!"
They were both happy and excited, leaping through the stone forest like a group of little mountain beasts, moving swiftly. They soon left the stone forest, returning before the Azure-scaled Eagle came back.
"This went smoothly, let's hurry up and go!"
The forest was dense, with leaves piled up to a foot thick, soft underfoot. Tall trees reached the sky, blocking the sun, and ancient vines twisted like dragons, clinging to the giant trees. From a distance, the roars of beasts could be heard, shaking the mountains.
Fortunately, this area was not far from Stone Village and was relatively safe, not close to the dangerous areas where the large beasts roamed.
"Almost there, let's push harder and run all the way to the village!"
The children were excited but also a bit worried. After all, it was a Azure-scaled Eagle, which even the strongest adult men in the village feared. They had successfully raided its nest, which felt almost unreal.
Suddenly, a sharp cry echoed through the sky, piercing and terrifying, causing the children's eardrums to hurt.
"Bad, the Azure-scaled Eagle is back. It must have noticed the three eggs are missing and is going to go mad," a child cried out in alarm.
"Run!" Xiao Shi Hao's eyes were bright as he saw a shadow circling in the sky through the gaps in the branches.
High in the sky, a strong wind howled as a giant bird cast a large shadow over the forest, diving down at incredible speed, its body shimmering with a cold, azure light, exuding a terrifying aura.
The other children also saw it, a giant bird diving towards the forest at an incredible speed, like a star falling, sharp and intimidating.
"My goodness, what a huge bird, run!" The children screamed, feeling fear. The bird was enormous, about seven to eight meters long, with a wingspan of fifteen meters, covered in cold, metallic-shining azure scales, exuding a terrifying aura!
The children ran for their lives, relying on their familiarity with the forest, heading for the densest areas to avoid the fierce bird with the cold-shining scales.
"Boom!"
Dozens of towering trees were shattered by its iron wings, branches and leaves flying everywhere. It was like a steel fortress, diving down, destroying everything in its path.
This was terrifying. The children screamed, their faces pale, running as fast as they could.
The massive creature was incredibly fearsome, its iron wings splitting the sky, destroying everything, its scales shimmering with a cold, deadly light. One dive was enough to destroy half the forest, with broken wood and leaves flying everywhere.
It was too strong, its body incredibly hard, its wings like broad blades, capable of shattering a mountain. The trees were no obstacle.
It resembled a giant eagle but had no feathers, its body covered in cold, azure scales, as if cast from molten iron, exuding a shocking force.
Its hooked beak was black and sharp, about half a meter long, stained with the blood of a fierce beast, clearly having just returned from a hunt. Its claws were even more terrifying, cold and extremely sharp, nearly a meter long, capable of easily tearing apart a giant elephant.
On its head were some feather-like protrusions, but they were not feathers, rather long, sharp bone spines, like a row of horns, capable of easily slicing open the chest of a large beast.
This was the Azure-scaled Eagle, covered in cold, azure scales, its body filled with boundless power, like a steel fortress, sweeping through the forest, treating the giant trees as nothing.
"Boom!"
With a loud roar, entire sections of towering trees were snapped, many of which were so thick that it would take a dozen people to encircle them. The Azure-scaled Eagle dove through, its iron wings shattering everything in its path, leaving branches and leaves scattered everywhere.
With a loud crash, a huge boulder blocking the way was shattered by its impact, sparks flying, and large rocks weighing hundreds of pounds were sent flying in all directions, breaking many trees, creating a terrifying scene.
All the children were chilled to the bone. The Azure-scaled Eagle was too powerful. If not for the boulder, many of them might have been killed.
After destroying a large area of the forest, the Azure-scaled Eagle soared back into the sky, circling overhead, its eagle eyes like lightning, coldly staring down, preparing to dive again to chase the fleeing children.
"The village is just ahead, let's hurry!" the children shouted.
