Chapter 7 - Run Away

Yang Hao noticed that this place was a closed-off 50 sq. meter room.
On the east side wall of the room, there was a pile of firefighting equipment. By luck, he was able to spot an unused firefighting axe as well as shovels.
On the west side wall, there were three 1.2 meters tall slop buckets. Currently, they were all spilled over, causing slop to be everywhere on the ground.
There were no more zombies inside. What should be behind the closed off metal door on the north side should be the kitchen where food for the dining hall was made.
Yang Hao did not immediately go in and picked up the attribute balls.
“Strength +5+6+7+5, Agility +1+2+1+1, Spirit +1+0.5+0.5, bronze treasure chest +1!”
He did not pay much attention to the attribute changes and laid his eyes upon the treasure chest as he directly opened it.
“Titanium Chromium Dagger. Weight: 250g. Reinforced and sharpened! Strength +3, Agility +1, fighting ability x2!”
Hearing the system notice, Yang Hao looked at the 300cm long dagger in his hands. It had a nice quality to it as if a single cut was enough to kill someone.
He smiled and said, “This should be my last life-saving weapon. I need carefully preserve it!”
As he spoke, a faint smile appeared on his face.
He immediately fastened it to his hands according to how mercenaries in television shows do it.
With another life-saving trump card, Yang Hao’s confidence increased a lot. Then he inspected his status:
“Yang Hao: normal person
Strength: 209
Agility: 27.8
Spirit: 22.7
Weapon: seven-star machete, titanium chromium dagger
Item: stimulant pill!”
Seeing that his status was around 4 times that of a normal person, his confidence was up to half, and his face was all smiling.
But, he quickly came to his senses. This was an apocalypse. Any small bit of negligence could lead to death.
He immediately moved his attention to the metal door.
He noticed the door was a pull-door. The zombies had no intelligence and only knew how to push. They did not even know that a light pull of the door was enough to open it.
He tightly grasped the seven-star machete and made one last inspection of his surroundings. Then he touched the doorknob, turned it gently, and suddenly pulled on it.
The metal door that was deformed from the zombies’ hitting opened with a loud bang.
At a glance, Yang Hao was able to see what the back kitchen of the dining hall looked like.
There were more than 10 zombies inside, attacking a reinforced glass inside. There were also some attacking a metal door on the side.
It was clear that these zombies were previously chefs. Some of them still wore their white hats, and some already had torn white uniforms.
The moment the door opened, the loud sound attracted the attention of all the zombies inside.
In the next second, they all wheezed and moaned as their charged towards Yang Hao.
He only took a glance before strongly pushing the door close and rush outside like a wisp of smoke.
Bang bang bang. Clang clang…..
Normally, the door that prevented people from entering was torn down in just a few moments.
Zombies would take a lot of effort to enter the place, but coming out from the inside was comparatively easier.
Bang, tumble. Bang. Plop.
The black liquid mixed with the slop on the ground let out splashing sounds as 13 zombies charged towards Yang Hao like madmen.
"
"
Yang Hao did not turn around to look. He closed the outer steel door and used an iron stick to seal it from the outside.
Afterward, he immediately charged towards the open door of the pickup truck.
Bang!
The instant he closed the door, he stepped on the clutch with his left leg and put down the machete as he started the engine.
Creak creak. Rumble rumble. Honggg.
Following the powerful sound of the engines, the tires of the pickup truck let out a loud sound as it quickly charged forward.
Before Yang Hao left, he did not forget to look at the small steel door. He noticed that it had already been deformed and the door frame was about to come out.
“Fuck, why are these zombies all the kind that could be found from the movie Train to B*san! If it was from the Walking D*ad, then I would have all chopped them to pieces!”
After cursing he began to speed along.
The driving techniques that he learned was able to immediately show their worth as he quickly escaped.
Clang! Bang!
When he turned the corner, Yang Hao faintly heard the loud bang of a heavy object smashing the ground. He unconsciously looked at the steel doors.
He just so happen to see the 13 zombies charge out and dispersed in all direction.
“Luckily, I was fast to run away!”
He withdrew his rejoicing gaze but immediately saw a zombie wandering in the path of the truck. He was unable to react at all and heavily smashed against the zombie.
Bang!
The zombie’s body flew up high in the air, causing black blood to spread in midair.
Yang Hao panicked and stepped on the breaks. His entire body almost hit against the steering wheel.
Clang! Bang!
Before he could react, the zombie corpse in the air dropped down, heavily smashing against the windshield glass.
Bang!
The zombie’s head directly smashed against the glass, immediately turning it into something like a smashed watermelon.
Black body fluids covered almost half the windshield glass and slowly slid down it.
Yang Hao suddenly tried to evade behind. His breathing immediately became frantic.
"
"
His eyes were filled with fear as he looked to the front.
He was only a dorm caretaker, a fatty that tried to survive his daily life. Even if he had some wild hopes, it had almost all been extinguished by the reality in front of him.
Even if the heavens had given him the power of the system, it might have made him elated for a few hours, but his nature as a human being had not changed much.
He had already been frightened badly by the sudden occurrence, causing him to panic.
It took 10 seconds before he finally came to his senses. He noticed the zombies behind had already caught up.
“Motherfuckers. I am someone who has the system. How could I be afraid? I must not be afraid! Charge! Quickly rush out! Otherwise, I would die in here!”
Yang Hao’s expression became fierce as he angrily rained curses.
His hands did not stop moving as he immediately changed gears and once again rush forth in a craze.
The survivors in the faraway female dormitory as well as the survivors on the second floor of the dining hall were able to see the entire scene of the truck hitting the zombie.
However, when they saw that more than ten zombies began chasing behind it as well as the zombies converging from everywhere, their faces of hope once again turned to despair.
Yang Hao was doomed.
This was because no one could escape from the zombies. They would not stop until their last breath. It was especially worse when they all converge.
Different from humans, as long as the zombies saw food, they would not give up and chase after their prey.
As long as a single zombie was able to latch on to the car, there would be nowhere else to run.
Yang Hao knew that the results were not optimistic. As a result, he would knock every zombie in his path flying.
Luckily, he was driving a pickup truck. It was relatively sturdy. Even if the front side was already deformed from knocking against the zombies, it was still good to go.
After circling the dining hall once, many zombies had been sent flying, but it had attracted more than 500 zombies that chased behind the truck.
The curtain of the night was gradually descending. The land began to turn dusky, but the beautiful street light would never turn on again.
The survivors of the female teacher dormitory and the survivors on the second floor of the dining hall witnessed his crazed driving. It was the first time they felt that a human could become so crazed just to run for their life.
Huang Qin’s face tensed up. She hoped that he would survive and not lose his life in vain. It was hard for such an expert to appear!
Fang Qing Qing’s face was covered in coldness and disdain as she snorted disdainfully.
So what if an insignificant subordinate died, she could still survive as she had food and water at home.
On the other hand, the survivors on the second floor of the dining hall hoped that he could lure away the zombies so that they could break the siege.
“Please, please. You must lure away all the zombies!”
“What a brave man. He truly is a brave man. He actually circled the place once. Perhaps the person he liked is inside the dining hall, that’s why he dared fight as if his life depended on it!”
“If we had more fools like this, we would definitely be able to escape!”
Some people prayed while some people cursed in rage.
