Chapter 2.1 - Killing Zombies Drops Red Envelopes (1)

3 min read840 words

Due to his good intentions, he had let in those three bastards to hide from the zombies.

In the end, they had pushed Yang Hao out of the mail room’s doors into the face of danger.

He must take revenge.

He was not in a rush to make a move. Instead, he walked in front of the zombie that was not able to walk.

It was a girl that had her lower half bitten off. After becoming a zombie, it could not move anymore.

Her long hair swung wildly as she struggled. Her clothes had been torn to shreds, exposing the gray skin underneath. There were even two holes on her abdomen that exposed her blackening rib cage.

“Gross!”

Yang Hao guessed that she was the boss of the supermarket. It was said that she had questionable relationships with male students.

“I must eliminate this potential danger. Who knows when she would get up! Fuck, I haven’t killed a zombie yet, this is quite terrifying!”

He picked up the leg of a stool and fiercely smashed towards her head with eyes closed.

“Bang!”

The zombie’s head was heavily knocked against the back wall and splashed out black blood.

Her struggling hands dropped down to the ground and continued to twitch.

Vomit!

When Yang Hao opened his eyes, he saw that the whole wall and the zombie’s head was stained black.

He directly vomited the food he just ate on the body of the zombie, turning it into a much more gruesome scene.

He gritted his teeth and forced himself to look away. After gargling with some water, he felt a lot better.

He might have seen many zombies and many people’s tragic deaths before, but they could not compare to the feeling of actually killing one himself.

After a while, his mind finally cleared. He braced himself to look at the zombie again, hoping to conquer his terror.

“Eh, what is that?”

After the zombie died, two glowing balls appeared. Additionally, there was one glowing red envelope.

“Strength +6, Agility +1, Red envelope +1!”

The system’s notice shook Yang Hao’s heart.

Now, his strength had reached 50 points, which was the same as a normal person.

Other than that, he anticipated the contents of the red envelope!

It must be known that whether in digital or in real life, red envelopes contain money.

Then what about the system’s red envelope?

“Open the red envelope!”

Just as he commanded, the red envelope disappeared, and what appeared in his hand was a small blue pill.

“What is this? Viagra?”

How could Yang Hao be familiar with pills? He could only look stupidly on the spot.

Even if his body was puffy, he rarely consumed medicine, so he did not know what it was.

“Stimulant Pill. Explosively increases the body’s strength by twofold in an instant!”

The system answered his question. The result made his eyes glitter. He had gained a life-saving medicine that he could use in times of danger.

After putting away the pill, he moved around the place.

He found the largest backpack he could find and stuffed them with food that had the longest expiry dates such as dried meat.

Then, he also took bread, sausages, milk, and water!

They were all food for his survival. He must stuff in as much as possible.

As for the small supermarket, he did not plan to stay for too long.

First, it was too small. Second, it was the first place where students would charge towards, and their goals were quite clear to see.

Even if he had the system, his strength was only at the level of a normal person. What would he do if people worked together against him?

Moreover, the system required him to pick up attribute balls to become stronger, and thus he would need to kill zombies.

He must leave the place, or else it might attract more zombies.

Yang Hao did not like to smoke or drink, so he did not think of letting them occupy his precious backpack space.

After quickly tidying up, he looked for firefighting equipment such as axes and shovels, but there were none.

Only a few metal buckets and a pickaxe handle was found.

“This is still fine. It’s at least better than going empty-handed!”

After making his preparations with techniques he had learned from watching television, he turned around and sat in front of the store’s door.

On one hand, he held chili strips, and on the other hand, he held roast ducks. He ate as he observed the environment outside.

He needed to replenish the food that he had just vomited out. Only by eating can he gain the energy to continue.

The four zombies that had chased after him had firmly blocked the door. They bared their fangs intending to charge in and eat him.

The sun had risen high in the sky. The majority of the zombies hid under the shade, thus there were almost none of them in the open space.
