Chapter 19 - I Like You

Cen Muqi was just being modest when he said that he couldn’t sing. Ji Naitang didn’t know whether it was because beauty was in the eye of its beholder, but he thought that Cen Muqi sounded really nice.

But Ji Naitang wasn’t being modest when he said that he couldn’t sing. His singing was mediocre, but he sang every word very seriously. Fortunately, he didn’t sing out of tune.

The song he picked for himself was “Exclusive Memory.” He wanted to sing this song for Cen Muqi, but he didn’t dare to sing directly to him. So he could only stare at the screen. “I hope that you will be my exclusive memory in the bottom of my heart. No matter how badly other people talk, I have you giving me half of your love now. Me liking you is my exclusive memory. No one can take you away from by body. You are sealed in my feelings. It’s okay if nothing is said about you.”

While Ji Naitang was singing, he involuntarily remembered what happened twelve years ago. During his countless days and nights in the hospital when he wanted to die, the only thing that made him feel that being alive wasn’t so bad was seeing Cen Muqi in the garden through the hospital’s room window.

The sixteen-year-old Cen Muqi had wracked his brains to talk about the interesting things that he had encountered and tell some jokes. Although the person whom he wanted to make laugh was his mother, he had inadvertently enlightened Ji Naitang, who had been silently watching him.

“Little Chick, you sing very well. And you were so modest ~ ” Leng Qifei smiled and said.

Liu Zi said, “FeiFei, I’m afraid that there is no one in this world who sings worse than you.”

“Scram. If you have the ability, then why don’t you sing ‘Qinghai – Tibetan Plateau?’”

Ji Naitang handed the microphone back to them. Then he heard them begin a new round of ghosts wailing and wolves howling. Ji Naitang actually didn’t like really noisy environments, but because Cen Muqi was with him, he could automatically ignore these howls.

He thought that he probably knew why Cen Muqi sounded a little helpless when he said earlier that they would probably go singing and drinking after the meal. His ears were indeed suffering.

When it was 11:00 p.m., Cen Muqi used Ji Naitang’s injuries as the reason for why they were leaving first. After they left the room, Ji Naitang couldn’t help but breathe a long sigh of relief.

“Do you still want to come next time?” Cen Muqi asked him.

He didn’t hesitate and nodded. “Yes.”

“It looks like you really like hanging out with them.”

Ji Naitang didn’t answer. He was thinking, ‘I don’t like them. I like you!’

“Oh. Isn’t this CEO Cen ~ ”

They were in the lobby and heard someone speak. They looked over at the same time. Ji Naitang was startled. He didn’t recognize the person speaking. But he knew the person standing next to him.

Cen Muqi stopped and nodded. “What a coincidence. CEO Wang and CEO Ji are here too.”

CEO Wang glanced over Ji Naitang. He said teasingly, “It is a coincidence. But we just arrived and CEO Cen has chosen a person already. Youngsters really act fast. Hahahaha……”

Cen Muqi didn’t smile, but his tone had no fluctuations either. “I heard that CEO Wang has really good insight. I didn’t think that you will have times when you’re wrong.”

“Oh? Does this mean that he isn’t?” CEO Wang looked at Ji Weilou next to him. “CEO Ji, do you believe that?”

Ji Weilou didn’t reply to CEO Wang. His expression wasn’t pleasant as he said to Ji Naitang, “You’re not ashamed that you lost face for the Ji family?”

Ji Naitang asked respectfully, “I don’t understand what you’re saying, uncle. Since you think that it’s shameful to come here, then why are you here?”

CEO Wang’s expression instantly changed. He didn’t think that this was the Ji family’s little young master. He thought about whether he had said anything wrong earlier. They said that Young Master Ji was cowardly and useless. He didn’t know whether he was cowardly or useless, but his tone would really choke someone. He wasn’t timid at all. Or was it because he had found a backer?
