Ji Naitang looked in surprise at Cen Muqi. He didn’t admit it or refute it. A touch of regret seemed to flash in Cen Muqi’s eyes. “What a pity.”
It was a pity that Ji Naitang matched his taste but Cen Muqi couldn’t keep him around for a while. He was always picky and rarely met someone whom he was interested in for so many years. His few close friends always joked that he was more and more like a vegetarian monk. So, it was really rare for him to like someone with one glance and bring him to a hotel.
“Actually, I……” Ji Naitang hesitated as he started to speak. But he hadn’t finished speaking when the phone on the table rang. Cen Muqi got up and went to answer it. Although he didn’t say too much, Ji Naitang could guess that it was probably about his company.
Cen Muqi hung up and turned to say to Ji Naitang, “It’s raining hard outside. Where do you live? I’ll have my driver take you back.”
Young Master Ji was said to have moved out of the Ji house at age eighteen. So, he didn’t know where he lived exactly.
“There’s no need. I’ll go back by myself.”
“Are you sure?”
Ji Naitang nodded timidly. Cen Muqi didn’t say any more. He changed his clothes and placed a check on the table. Then he picked up his documents and left the room.
The room quieted. Ji Naitang got up and searched for his coat. He took out a lollipop from his coat pocket. He threw it in his mouth after removing the wrapper. He returned to the bed and silently listened to the rain outside the window. His expression was completely different from before.
At this time, the phone on the nightstand rang. He slowly reached out for it. It was Yao Yuanjing.
“Hello?”
“Are you still alive? What happened last night? You said that you accidentally drank a glass of drugged wine at the bar last night. Then there was no more news. If you didn’t text me telling me to ignore it, I would have flown back to the country last night.”
Ji Naitang looked mild. “It’s Cen Xi.”
“Cen Xi? Sh*t. He dared to drug you?!”
Cen Xi liked Ji Naitang. Ji Naitang was very clear on this, but he didn’t think that that guy would actually have the guts to drug his wine.
“And then what?”
And then? Ji Naitang still remembered Cen Xi and the guests’ frightened expressions when he directly smashed the wine bottle on the table. To be honest, if he hadn’t glimpsed Cen Muqi’s figure in the crowd, his next move would probably have been smashing the bottle on Cen Xi’s head.
Yao Yuanjing was silent after listening. “So you took the opportunity to sleep with Cen Muqi?”
Ji Naitang didn’t answer, but his attitude was very obvious. Yao Yuanjing held back for a long time before forcing out, “Congratulations. You finally achieved your dream. But are you letting that guy Cen Xi off?”
Ji Naitang sneered. “Do you think that that’s possible?!”
Although they were thousands of miles apart, Yao Yuanjing, on other end of the phone, still couldn’t help but shudder. Then he took pleasure in others’ misfortune and said, “I can already see what will happen to him. Do you need my help?”
“I’ll handle it myself.”
“…… Okay. But my little Naitang’er,* don’t pretend to be cool. You finally got close to Cen Muqi. Don’t forget the serious business that I told you about before ~”
[‘Er = suffix to denote familiarity or intimacy]
“Depends on my mood.” Ji Naitang hung up the phone before Yao Yuanjing could curse. Then he continued lying in bed for a while before he got up. He went to take a shower in the bathroom, put on his clothes, and left the hotel with the check that Cen Muqi had left.
