Chapter 41 - Feel a Sense of Crisis

Cen Muqi said he wanted an exchange, so he really didn’t let Ji Naitang see it. Ji Naitang could only go to sleep filled with curiosity. But he knew that Cen Muqi wanted him to go for a check-up for his own good. So, he would go even if it was the most detested hospital.

After Cen Muqi and Ji Naitang finished breakfast the next morning, Tan Huanya came over when they were leaving. “Qi ge, are you going to the company?”

“En.”

“Then I’ll go with you, so I can get used to it earlier.”

She sat in the passenger seat. Although Cen Muqi said last night that there wasn’t a suitable position for Tan Huanya, Feng Yan had still asked him to arrange a position for her. So he couldn’t refuse Tan Huanya on such a tiny matter.

Ji Naitang sat in the back with no expression on his face. The car drove for a while before he thought that since there was no driver, it would be more suitable if he was the one who drove.

But Cen Muqi rarely asked him to drive unless there were some special circumstances. Ji Naitang started to wonder what a normal “backer and mistress relationship” was like again. He always thought that his and Cen Muqi’s relationship was very weird, but he liked this weird.

“Qi ge, why don’t I be your assistant?” Tan Huanya wholeheartedly wanted to enter Cen Corporation to get close to Cen Muqi, so she naturally had to find a position that would come in constant contact with Cen Muqi.

“I already have an assistant.”

“You can have a few more, like Special Assistant and such. You’re managing such a large company yourself, so you must have a lot of things to do. How can one assistant be enough?!”

“I have a Special Assistant too. He’s right behind you.”

Tan Huanya turned to look at Ji Naitang in some surprise. Ji Naitang was also at a loss. Cen Muqi had told him to resign from Fengqi and come to Cen Corporation if he couldn’t find another job. But he didn’t think that the job was already arranged and it was as Cen Muqi’s Special Assistant!

Ji Naitang smiled. His IQ had instantly disappeared after Feng Yan told Cen Muqi and Tan Huanya to get engaged. But after what happened last night, his IQ finally returned, so he was just surprised for a moment. His Special Assistant position should be given to him as a response to Tan Huanya’s words.

Work was starting exactly when they arrived at Cen Corporation. There was a long line for the staff elevators, but Ji Naitang and Tan Huanya came with Cen Muqi, so they rode the CEO’s elevator.

The employees standing in line tried to guess who those two people were.

“CEO Cen.” Assistant Liu followed them into the office. It seemed that he had something business-related to report. Before he said anything, he looked at Ji Naitang and Tan Huanya first.

Assistant Liu had been with Cen Muqi for many years. He was the one who prepared and sent out Tan Huanya’s birthday gifts in the last few years, so he naturally knew who she was and was not surprised by her appearance here.

And he was familiar with Ji Naitang. He just wondered why Ji Naitang was at Cen Corporation when the resort project had ended.

Cen Muqi sat at his desk and looked up at Assistant Liu. Assistant Liu quickly handed the document over. “This is the specific plan for subsidizing the Chengxi Orphanage.”

Cen Muqi looked it over. Then he looked at Ji Naitang and said, “I forgot tell you last night. You go to the orphanage frequently, so you should be very familiar with it. Go with little Liu and be in charge of this. Go take a look at what this plan is missing.”

Ji Naitang remembered Cen Muqi had told him not to sleep because he had something to tell him last night. At that time, Ji Naitang had thought that Cen Muqi was referring to them breaking up after the engagement. Now it seemed that it was about subsidizing the orphanage.
