Chapter 61 - What More Could He Want?

Ji Naitang wasn’t in a very good mood at dinner that evening because he felt that Cen Muqi didn’t go to the Cen house to stand up for him. It was more to warn Tan Huanya.

And why should Cen Muqi warn Tan Huanya? It was because he treated her like his own sister. So, before Tan Huanya did something irreparable, he went to warn her and let her realize the seriousness of the situation. That way, she wouldn’t really land herself in prison. By then, her life really would be ruined.

Everyone said that Ji Naitang and Cen Muqi were in love. But in fact, he didn’t hold a lot of weight in Cen Muqi’s heart at all. All of those sweet things were probably his own wishful thinking.

“What are you doing, CEO Cen?”

Cen Muqi went over to sit on the sofa. He waited for the picture to develop and explained, “My mom wants me to buy a camera for her. She’s going to the orphanage in a few days and wants to take some pictures for memories. I remember that I have one.”

Ji Naitang looked at the instant camera in his hands. It looked very new. He probably didn’t use it more than a few times since he bought it.

“CEO Cen likes this sort of thing?”

“I didn’t buy it. Old Leng gave it to me. I don’t even remember when he gave it to me. I didn’t pay much attention.”

Ji Naitang was a little envious of Leng Qifei and the others. At least they grew up with Cen Muqi. They had a good relationship with him that other people couldn’t compare to.

Cen Muqi pointed to the camera. “Come on. Let’s take a picture together.” He leaned closer and placed an arm around Ji Naitang’s shoulders. They took a few pictures together.

A light flashed in Ji Naitang’s eyes. He had actually thought about taking pictures with Cen Muqi for memories before. But he didn’t dare to bring it up because he was afraid of crossing the line.

Ji Naitang suddenly felt that he shouldn’t have thought those things earlier. When Cen Xi had drugged him, Cen Muqi had just said that he would teach Cen Xi a lesson, but he didn’t really comfort Ji Naitang. But this time, after he warned Tan Huanya, Cen Muqi also specifically appeased him.

So, you could see that Cen Muqi was actually treating Ji Naitang better and better. At least, he treated Ji Naitang better than he did in the beginning. So what more could Ji Naitang want?

Ji Naitang leaned on Cen Muqi. He said sincerely, “Actually, I can protect myself. Nothing will happen.”

Cen Muqi chuckled. It was clear that he didn’t believe it. Ji Naitang was worried. What would happen if Cen Muqi found out about his true personality one day?

Should he find a chance to take the initiative to tell him? But he didn’t want Cen Muqi to see his dark side. He was very conflicted.
