Chapter 1 Body Model
As the gentle wind caressed her face, the enchanting sunlight of June fell through the canopy of leaves and scattered onto the dark pavement, leaving spots of gold that swayed with the shadows of the tree.
The crystal clear water of the pond reflected the gentle blue sky. Occasionally, a dragonfly would land on the water, and a suffocatingly beautiful image would ripple outwards, melting into the ripples in the girl’s eyes.
The corner of her lips lifted, and a faint smile appeared in her serene eyes.
Kong Xi quietly observed the ink painting in her hands, then, suddenly reminded of an unpleasant memory again, she frowned in displeasure. Gently setting the painting aside, she propped her chin on her hands and stared out the window in a daze.
“Why have I only ever seen you draw landscapes? Your portrait drawings must be catastrophic, hahahaha……”
That irritating sharp voice echoed in her head over and over again, so sharp it hurt her ears. TIred, Kong Xi patted her ears with her palm.
Ugh, that annoying woman, saying those things every time we meet. She’s such a bother. She accepted her challenge last time in the heat of the moment, and if she were to lose, she couldn’t make her shut up.
Kong Xi rose slowly, and went to make a cup of coffee; the milky aroma instantly permeated the dimly lit classroom and calmed her frustration caused by those annoying words.
It’s about time for her to find one.

“Uh, bro, why do you look so haggard recently?” Upon seeing An Fan’s bloodless and pale lips and his dark eye bags, Lin Fei could not help but jump.
Is this still the cold and handsome god of A University[1] that has captured countless hearts of young girls?! He wouldn’t have even recognized him had he not looked closely.
An Fan calmly glanced at him, too tired to even sigh.
Lin Fei understood immediately, silently patting his shoulder, and sighed for him. This poor bloke must have ran out of money again and stayed up working all night.
That’s right, An Fei, a Chinese major and the hottest guy of the whole school, looked up to by everyone, did not lack the looks, did not not lack the talents, did not lack the popularity. The only thing he lacked, was money.
Of course, this was a secret not known by many.
“Speaking of which, I have a super duper uper~ awesome part time job, Mr. An, you interested?” A lightbulb suddenly went off in Lin Fei’s head, conveniently disclosing the reason he came to find him.
An Fan looked at his hyperactive eyebrows and comical face and felt like it wasn’t anything good.
Though Lin Fei was also an outstanding individual, his personality was the opposite of An Fan’s, funny and smooth-speaking, and very easy to get along with. But it was also because of his personality that most girls thought of him as a friend, instead of a god to chase after.
“What part time job?” An Fan tiredly massaged his temples, but the persistent fatigue refused to go away, leaving him a little out of it.
Lin Fei cackled, revealing his white teeth, “You know of Kong Xi, right? Our school’s goddess, an art major.”
“…no.” Even his voice sounded sleepy, and his tone became slower.
Lin Fei was a little surprised, but then smiled awkwardly, “Oh yeah, you’re usually so busy that you don’t take note of these things…… This part time job pays super well, 300 an hour, and even I want to do it, but she doesn’t want me……”
Upon hearing “300 an hour,” An Fan’s eyes cleared up slightly, though it dispersed again quickly.
In a daze, he only heard a couple of words, something like “model,” “art room,” “interview……”
He tried to pay attention, but still couldn’t combat the smothering sleepiness; his eyes were half open, only able to see the shades of the trees.
Lin Fei seemed to have asked him something, and he nodded mindlessly, even nodding was tiring.
Then he seemed to hear Lin Fei calling with someone, and a faint and soft female voice came from the other side of the phone, quiet and calm like the warm breeze of summer.
Ah, this was making him even more sleepy…
“Then it’s settled…… Heh heh, yes ma’am, I guarantee that you’ll be satisfied this time! …….”
Lin Fei’s loud voice caused the already half asleep An Fan to frown slightly, it’s so noisy, he needed a good nap…
Lin Fei hung up and patted his shoulders, patting him awake. Smiling, he said, “Mr. An, I have scheduled a meeting for you, this Saturday at three, Goldfish compound, building C, apartment 1101, don’t miss such a good opportunity, you have to go! …… Oh, and, make sure you rest properly these two days, or else if you go looking like a panda, my goddess will be pissed at me……”
“Mmmm…” An Fan’s head was aching, it felt like it weighed a thousand pounds, and after quietly answering, he laid on the table
Looking at his ready-to-drop-dead face, Lin Fei sighed helplessly, thinking, bro, I was really trying to help you, just don’t blame me when the time comes.
Moreover, this kind of luck with women was something he did not have.
After Lin Fei left, the world finally quieted down. An Fan was finally able to sink into a deep sleep, his slightly long bangs fell cleanly to one side, partially covering his forehead, and his eyelids flickered, he seemed to be dreaming.
He dreamed of a blue lake; the water was so clear he could see the bottom, the surroundings of the lake were green and lush, and the surface of the lake reflected the clear blue sky; the water rippled, and patterns of the waves bobbed in it.
He also saw a girl in a white dress with her back facing him, her hair fell like a waterfall to her waist. Holding a sketchbook, her fingers moved slightly, smoothly tracing the contours of the lake and the mountains.
It was so beautiful it was like a dream.
The girl seemed to have sensed his stare, and she stopped, slowly turning around. He felt like he saw the quiet and soft smile on the corner of her lips…
“Wake up! Wake up!” Someone was shaking his shoulder violently. An Fan snapped out of his dream. Then he saw his ancient Chinese professor frowning, pushing up his reading glasses, and standing in front of his desk with a face of displeasure.
He immediately cleared up a little.
“An Fan, go home to sleep if you want to sleep, come to my class when you’re well rested!”
“Apologies, professor.” An Fan replied with a low voice, though it was emotionless and cold; he paid no regard to the peculiar stares from people around him.
He lowered his head. His hair drooped down with him, covering his darkened eyes.
This was the first time that he could remember a dream so clearly…
_(:3」∠)_
Under Lin Fei’s incessant pestering, An Fan was indeed able to rest up for a few days, and regained his clean and handsome face, smooth and clear skin, and his cold and handsome aura, making him stand out.
If the interview for this part-time job goes well, the pay would be able to cover several of his current part time jobs.
He would be glad about an opportunity that allows him to be able to not work so hard.
But he couldn’t shake the feeling that this ‘free meal’ was a little fishy. This 300 an hour pay rate was frighteningly high, but despite that he had been questioning Lin Fei nonstop, he never revealed anything, only giving him some vague information, and promising that “it’s not life threatening.”
Oh well. Lin Fei wouldn’t mean ill, and moreover, it was just a girl of the same university, and she was also one year below him. It’s not like she could do much to him.
He tidied up his attire, combed his hair, and set out for the address Lin Fei gave him.
The Goldfish compound was very close, right by the school, and was very easy to find. But the pricing of these houses were pretty expensive, at least, not somewhere that most students would choose to rent.
“Building C, 1101…” Following the address, he easily found the interview spot.
He knocked lightly, and asked politely, “Hello, Is anyone in?” His voice was low and seductive.
“The door’s not locked, please come in.”
He suddenly realized that this was the voice he heard Lin Fei calling with when he was half-delirious. If he remembered correctly, her name is Kong Xi, goddess of A University, majoring in art.
He composed himself, and entered.
On a light purple couch, there sat a beautiful girl dressed in white. Her skin was white as snow, her eyebrows were perfectly arched, and her deep eyes seemed to have stars in them, boundless yet calm.
The corner of her mouth was lifted, her smile gentle and calm. Her hair fell like a silky waterfall, the color of ink.
She looked as if she came out of a painting[3], clean and elegant.
An Fan has never seen such a beautiful girl before. He froze at the entrance, gawking at her.
He almost felt like he heard her part her lips, her voice was like a tranquil stream. “Pleased to meet you.”
An Fan came back to his senses, and nodded courteously. He was about to answer when he heard–
“My body model.”

Notes:
Chinese novels don’t usually include names of actually places, so often countries, cities, or in this case, universities, are differentiated by a letter, “A,” and the kind of place it is, “University”So it was talking about a specific type of ink painting that usually included the scenery of a certain place, which gave off a kind of vibe from her, but I found all the ways I tried to translate it wordy and awkward, so I gave up
Translator’s Babble:
Hello, this is the first work I have translated, and I hope you guys like it! If you have any questions or anything, leave it in the comments! Or please comment on anything! I would love to see what you guys think of this novel. It’s a pretty short one, only 22 chapters, so I can get used to translating novels. I will *try* to get out one chapter a week, and hopefully faster than that! This is linked in Novel Updates!
And I’m looking for an editor for this short novel! Someone who is fluent and good at English. I want someone to check for fluency and grammar in the English, so that it sounds as close to an English novel as possible! Please message me if you are interested!
Also, this website thing is kind of annoying, and I’m a little confused to all the formats and stuff. If anyone has suggestions on what I can do with fonts and background colors to make reading a little better, please say so! (I actually don’t know how to change fonts :3) In particular, is the background mint color distracting or good? Ideas would be great!
