Chapter 11: The Altered Fate

As Liu Dong's expression gradually relaxed, his breathing became increasingly deep and steady. If one were to remove the white shirt he was wearing, they would clearly see a snake-like gas moving continuously under his bronze skin, starting from his dantian and circulating throughout his body.

At this moment, the bedroom became quiet, and an indescribable aura slowly emanated from Liu Dong's body. Suddenly, as if sensing the special aura emanating from Liu Dong, a faint yellow glow began to rise from under his bed. This yellow glow, as if awakening from something, grew stronger and soon a pearl, irregular in shape and the size of a longan, emitting a rich and soft yellow light, slowly rose from under the bed. The bed frame, bedding, and the bamboo mat on top seemed to offer no resistance to this yellow pearl, which rose slowly and then suspended in the air about half a foot above Liu Dong's head.

Fortunately, there was no one else in the room besides Liu Dong, who was in a semi-conscious state, unaware of the outside world. Otherwise, anyone who saw this bizarre scene would likely have fainted from shock.

Under the intense yellow light, Liu Dong, sitting cross-legged, looked as solemn and dignified as a high-ranking Buddhist monk.

However, after a while, the yellow light that illuminated the entire bedroom, even blocking the sunlight outside the window, suddenly flashed and was completely absorbed into the irregular pearl. This pearl, the size of a longan, spun a few times and then suddenly plummeted, drilling into the baihui point on the top of Liu Dong's head.

Startled by this, Liu Dong's body trembled, his face twitched, but he did not open his eyes. However, soon, a sharp pain in his head made it impossible for him to remain calm.

"What the hell is going on? Why is my head hurting so much?" Liu Dong thought to himself, clutching his head and wincing.

Before he could think further, a sharp pain from his forehead made him faint.

"Ugh..." After an unknown amount of time, Liu Dong groaned unconsciously and slowly opened his eyes. As the confusion in his eyes gradually faded, he remembered the reason for his fainting.

With a sudden jolt, he sat up from the bed, immediately reaching up to touch his head. After checking his entire body and confirming that nothing was missing, Liu Dong couldn't help but feel a sense of relief.

"What exactly happened just now? Why did my head hurt so much?" He touched his forehead, finding no abnormalities, and couldn't help but wonder.

"Hmm, something's not right! What's going on?" Before he could figure out the cause of the sharp pain, the unusual sight before him left him stunned.

Liu Dong stared at the window in disbelief, his eyes wide. After a moment, he mechanically turned his head to look around his room, repeating this several times before finally confirming that he had not turned on any lights. This realization only made him more surprised.

Because at that moment, he noticed that the streetlights in the neighborhood were already on, and the city in the distance was lit up with bright lights, clearly indicating that it was already night. However, within a two-meter radius in front of him, it was as bright as daylight, while everything beyond that was pitch black. He was certain that he had not turned on any lights.

Before he could figure out what was happening, he inadvertently looked down and suddenly saw the wooden bed, the suitcase under the bed, the floor, and even the concrete layer, all peeling away like white mist, layer by layer, revealing themselves to his eyes. The word "X-ray" suddenly popped into his mind.

At that moment, a dense white light shot up from under him, bright but not blinding, causing Liu Dong to instinctively close his eyes.

When he opened his eyes again, he saw that the intense white light was rising from the suitcase under the bed, more precisely, from the octagonal stupa he had just acquired today. The white light rose about eight feet and was clearly visible to Liu Dong. He soon realized that the white light he had seen earlier was this.

Furrowing his brow, Liu Dong couldn't help but knock on his forehead, a strange expression on his face. As soon as he saw the white light, he suddenly became aware of, or rather, felt a space about one cubic meter in size in his mind, or rather, in his head.

This strange sensation made Liu Dong involuntarily pat his back of the head, but the space did not disappear with his movement; instead, it became even clearer, as if he could touch it with his hand.

At that moment, a sense of control over everything in this mysterious space appeared in his mind.

"What's going on?" Liu Dong thought, his expression blank and his eyes dull.

Time passed, perhaps ten minutes or half an hour, but Liu Dong, lost in his thoughts, did not notice. Closing his eyes, he took a deep breath and slowly exhaled. His years of meditation and the calmness he had cultivated over the years helped him snap out of his daze.

With a hint of apprehension, Liu Dong extended his trembling right hand and touched the piece of carbonized wood he had placed on his desk, ready to carve.

Soon, a miraculous scene unfolded. The piece of carbonized wood, nearly two feet tall and twenty centimeters in diameter, suddenly disappeared as if it had never existed.

"Is this really happening?" Liu Dong looked, or rather, sensed, the space in his mind where the carbonized wood had appeared. With a thought, the carbonized wood reappeared in his hand. After repeating this several times, Liu Dong finally confirmed that the mysterious space in his mind was under his control.

"Could this be what they call a superpower?" Liu Dong whispered to himself, a hint of excitement in his voice. Although he had never really believed in the superpowers described in newspapers and magazines, the miraculous scene that had just occurred left him no choice but to believe.

Soon, he bent down and took out the octagonal stupa from the old suitcase under his bed. After examining it, Liu Dong's right hand grasped the topmost monk's hat-shaped spire and twisted it. After a few clockwise turns, the spire fell into his hand, revealing a hollow space about seven to eight centimeters deep inside the stupa. Inside this space stood a delicate golden lotus throne with eight lotus leaves, and on the throne was an irregular indentation, clearly meant to hold something precious, though it was now empty.

However, upon seeing the indentation, Liu Dong's expression changed, as if he had realized something. Soon, the irregular pearl, emitting a rich yellow light, appeared in his mind.

"Octagonal Stupa with Lotus Patterns, carved by Wang Shuyuan of the Ming Dynasty!" A line of text, glowing with rich golden light, suddenly appeared on the unknown pearl in Liu Dong's mind.

"What is this?" Liu Dong's expression froze, and he quickly examined the stupa in his hand, thinking to himself, "Could it be this?"
