Chapter 71: All-In (Part 3)

After receiving the bank card and chips, Liu Dong glanced at Han Lei, who was sitting opposite him, and asked, "How about it? Now, Young Master Han shouldn't have any problems, right?"

"Hmph, you got lucky this time!" To be honest, even Han Lei was surprised that Liu Dong could bet on high-grade ice jade, but he was more envious and jealous.

"Wait!" Just as Han Lei was about to ask the dealer to deal the cards, Liu Dong suddenly shouted.

Ignoring the inquiring gazes of the others, Liu Dong calmly stared at Han Lei, "Young Master Han seems to have forgotten something. My ten million chips are already on the table, but where are yours?"

After saying that, Liu Dong turned to the fat man and the middle-aged man with a mustache sitting on either side and said, "Since both of you are participating in the game, shouldn't you also make up the chips on the table?"

Hearing his words, the fat man and the mustached man exchanged glances and shook their heads. Although they wanted to curry favor with Han Lei and rely on the Han family's jewelry business to make a fortune at the upcoming gambling conference in Quancheng, they didn't dare to bet millions of dollars on the table. After all, ten million was almost half of their assets.

"Sorry, this game is too big for me. I can't afford it, so I'm out!" The mustached man said with a bitter smile, then got up and took his chips from the table, stepping aside.

"Sorry, I'm out too!" The fat man said, taking his chips and leaving the table.

Liu Dong didn't say anything about their departure; his target was never them. Han Lei also glanced at the two and then turned his gaze away. Although he understood their predicament, he had completely lost his good feelings for these two who left at such a critical moment, even harboring some resentment.

Seeing Liu Dong's gaze, Han Lei took out a checkbook from his upper pocket, quickly wrote down the number ten million, and handed it to his bodyguard. Soon, ten million chips were neatly placed on the table in front of Han Lei.

"Should it be fine now?"

Hearing Han Lei's somewhat gritted teeth, Liu Dong smiled and said, "Of course!"

"Wait!"

Seeing the puzzled gazes of the others, Wang Haitao smiled and said, "For such a big game, we should have a proper host!" He paused and then instructed, "Go get Old Duan!"

"Yes, boss!"

Less than five minutes after the Black Tiger Gang security personnel left, a middle-aged man, about forty years old, with an ordinary appearance and wearing a pair of gold-rimmed glasses, walked over. He looked like a scholar.

"Old Duan, there's a big game here, and we need you to host it!" Even as the gang leader, Wang Haitao had a friendly smile on his face.

Nodding, the middle-aged man asked, "How much is the bet?"

"Twenty million in total!"

After hearing Wang Haitao, Duan Zhiheng said calmly, "Alright, just barely enough!" He then took a pair of white gloves from his right pocket and slowly put them on.

Seeing his actions, Wang Haitao's face lit up, and he quickly introduced him to the crowd, "This is Duan Zhiheng, a professional dealer we specially invited from Macau. He is also our casino's technical director and has hosted the Macau Gambling King Tournament. With him here, we can ensure that today's game will be absolutely fair!"

Looking at the crowd around the table, Wang Haitao quickly realized this was a good opportunity to boost the reputation of his casino. Therefore, he wanted to put forth his best effort to make the game more formal and attention-grabbing.

After Duan Zhiheng put on his gloves, he looked at the crowded people and said sternly, "To ensure the fairness and safety of the game, please step back three meters."

Hearing this, the crowd was in an uproar. Being closer meant a better view, so no one wanted to step back. However, since this was the Black Tiger Gang's casino, they had no choice but to step back to see the game. To get a better view, people in the back brought chairs and stood on them, even standing on the table.

At this moment, these people, who usually appeared as well-dressed gentlemen, now looked more like commoners, pushing and shoving to get a good spot.

After a long wait for everyone to settle down and quiet, Duan Zhiheng stood in the center of the table.

All-In, also known as Texas Hold'em, is a type of poker game. The winner is determined by the combination of five cards. At the start of the game, each player receives one hole card (which is only revealed at the end). After the second card is dealt, the player with the best visible hand decides the betting amount. Other players can choose to 'call,' 'raise,' 'fold,' or 'go all-in.' When all five cards are dealt, all players reveal their hole cards to compare.

Before the cards are dealt, each player must pay a mandatory ante. Each player is then dealt two face-down hole cards and one face-up card. The player with the smallest face-up card must make the initial bet, which is usually half of the small bet or sometimes the entire small bet. If two players have the same face-up card, the suit order (clubs, diamonds, hearts, spades) determines who pays.

The five-card All-In game is the most popular in mainland China and Hong Kong/Taiwan because it is easy to learn, highly competitive, and combines skill and luck. All-In experts must have a good memory, comprehensive judgment, and the ability to analyze calmly, along with a bit of luck.

Although Liu Dong was encountering All-In for the first time, he was not unfamiliar with it. After all, the movie "God of Gamblers" starring Stephen Chow was a huge hit in China, and everyone who watched it was thrilled by the incredible gambling techniques and naturally wanted to imitate them. Of course, Liu Dong was no exception, but the specific rules had been forgotten over time. Fortunately, All-In is not very complicated, and after Wang Xiaoli explained it to him, Liu Dong had already memorized the rules.

"If there are no issues, the game will begin," Duan Zhiheng said, and after seeing the two nod, he began to explain the rules of All-In.

The rules of All-In are simple: a straight flush (five consecutive cards of the same suit) is the highest, with A leading the highest straight flush. If both players have an A-led straight flush, the suit order (spades, hearts, clubs, diamonds) determines the winner.

Next is four of a kind (four cards of the same rank plus one single card), followed by a full house (three of a kind plus a pair). If both players have a full house, the three of a kind with the higher rank wins.

Then comes a flush (five cards of the same suit but not in sequence), a straight (five consecutive cards of any suit), three of a kind (three cards of the same rank), two pairs (two sets of two cards of the same rank), a pair (two cards of the same rank plus three single cards), and finally, a high card.

After a brief introduction to the rules, Duan Zhiheng reached into a nearby box and took out a new deck of cards. After opening it, he asked, "Do you want to check the deck?"

"No need!" Liu Dong shook his head.

Seeing this, Han Lei, who originally wanted to check, also shook his head.

Nodding, Duan Zhiheng picked up the deck, removed the jokers, and divided the deck into two nearly equal piles. He then quickly shuffled the cards. It wasn't as flashy as in the movies, but his speed was incredibly fast. In such a situation, it would be very difficult for anyone to remember the cards.

However, Liu Dong had never thought about memorizing the cards. His透视 (penetrating) ability was his greatest advantage. When he looked at Han Lei, the corner of his mouth couldn't help but curl. From the impatient look in Han Lei's eyes, despite his focus on the dealer's quick shuffling, it was clear that Han Lei's real skill in All-In was not much better than his own, who was playing for the first time.

"Today, I will make you bleed heavily!" Liu Dong thought viciously.
