“….So, I plan to gather more members.”
It was night time after the entrance ceremony.
At the counter after closing the shop, while drinking the cocoa Kô-chan brewed for me, I spoke about how my day went.
“Nana, the way you give your all in what you do, reminds me of Akino,” Kô-chan said to me, his eyes narrowed.
Kô-chan’s older sister, Akino, was my mother. I remembered almost nothing about my mom, so when others talked about her and said how similar we were, I felt happy.
“You really are just like her.”
Sakura-chan, who was standing next to me, nodded in agreement.
“Anyways, if any of those boys ask Nana-chan out, I think I’m gonna beat them up.”
“That sort of thing won’t happen!”
“If the guy who asked her out came here, I’d definitely beat him up.” Kô-chan said.
Anyways, I wonder how I’m going to get more members? I hope I can find people who love running but…
Suddenly, Yagami-kun’s face came into mind. When he jumped over the school gate, I was so amazed.
“Ah, the handkerchief! Even though you gave it to me, I handed it to a boy that got injured today.” At first I thought she would be disappointed, but Sakura-chan showed me a beautiful smile.
“Wasn’t giving it to the boy the best way to use the handkerchief? Handkerchiefs are meant to be used for things like that.”
Honestly speaking, Sakura-chan seemed more girly than me.
“Surely that boy is thinking of you right now.”
“Huh? Why?”
“Of course he’ll be thinking about such a cute girl gently tending to his wounds. Maybe he fell for you.”
I almost spat out my cocoa. “Th-that’s not what happened!”
My face turned red, but Sakura-chan was smiling happily. Flustered, I didn’t know what to say, but then we heard Kô-chan’s voice from the back of the kitchen.
“Hey Sakura, carry the beans that arrived today to the back yard!”
“Aww man, I want to stay here and tease Nana-chan!” Despite grumbling, Sakura lifted a cardboard box from the high pile at once.
“Yoish!” Strong shouts echoed through the cafe. In each box, there were 12 sets of 2 kilograms of beans. And there were….four boxes.
“Wow, Sakura-chan is so strong…” I muttered.
“Very manly,” Sakura-chan said, winking beautifully.
