Just as Captain America called out "Gordon," his team members took action against the acting governor. The acting governor never expected that his directly appointed subordinates would suddenly turn against him. The guards beside him didn't have time to react (their attention was drawn to Dalei and Gordon) and were easily taken hostage one by one, all becoming captives.
Gordon: "Your Howling Commandos are still as elite and combat-effective as ever, not at all affected by your last failure. The new members are really skilled. Where did you find them? From the Vault, the Cube, the Big House, or the Raft?"
Captain America: "..." — Instead of answering Gordon's question, he asked an unrelated one: "How did you recognize me?"
Gordon: "Huh?" — Pretending to be surprised
Captain America: "I mean, how did you recognize me? When I carried out missions in the past, I always wore a mask, and my personal identity was kept extremely confidential. Your organization, S.H.I.E.L.D., only knew my real name and had no information on my appearance. Also, the mission I led to the S.H.I.E.L.D. Eastern European branch to destroy their research facility, Hydra, was a success, not a failure."
Gordon: "You mentioned the name of the Eastern European branch's research facility, Hydra, which means it has nine heads. You think destroying one was a success? If Agent Smith (Hydra's head) heard that, he'd laugh his head off. As for how I recognized you... You're right, I don't know your real face, but I know your body shape, body language, and your tendency to lead from the front. Once I knew this team was sent by the Illuminati, it wasn't hard to figure out your true identity."
Captain America: "..." — Judging the truth of Gordon's words
Gordon: "As for how I knew this team was sent by the Illuminati, it's simple. I recognized the 'newcomer' in your team, the defector from Moscow headquarters three years ago, the Winter Soldier. I recognized him the moment I met you in the ruins of Snail Village. After all, his cybernetic arm is a high-tech product of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Looking at the Winter Soldier) You've come a long way, becoming the deputy leader of the Howling Commandos." — Mocking
I (Narrator): "Oh, so it wasn't the captain he recognized, but the deputy leader. He and Gordon are old acquaintances."
Deputy Leader (former Winter Soldier): "I'm not a defector! I was originally a member of the Howling Commandos. You captured me, brainwashed me, and implanted a mental controller in my brain, making me loyal only to the Soviet headquarters. You ordered me to assassinate foreign political figures, treating me like a tool. Later, thanks to the captain, who used the Cosmic Cube to awaken me and help me recover my memory, I became myself again. And my name isn't Winter Soldier, it's Bucky Barnes!!" — By the end, he was so angry he almost ignored the hostages and lunged at Gordon.
Captain America: "Calm down, Bucky. He's trying to provoke you. Keep an eye on the hostages!" — Quickly stopping Bucky from falling for the trap.
Thanks to Captain America's timely intervention, Bucky, who was directly provoked, was not the main concern; the acting governor, who was being held hostage, almost suffocated to death from Bucky's cybernetic arm.
Gordon: "Oh, really? Moscow headquarters claims you're a principle-less, shameless double agent. You sell your services to the highest bidder. First, you stole military intelligence from the Illuminati and sold it to S.H.I.E.L.D. for a good price. Then, you stole advanced technology (cybernetic arm and mental controller) from S.H.I.E.L.D. and defected back to the Illuminati, selling it for another high price. Truly a double agent on both sides." — Continuing to try to provoke Bucky
Acting Governor: "Enough, enough, you bastard, stop provoking him. Save me first!!" — Shouting in fear
Dalei: "This coward... Amazonian soldiers, follow my orders, immediately kill all these spies!!" — Commanding the regular army to act without regard for the hostages
Acting Governor: "Don't listen to her. I still have the authority of the governor, and she is still in exile. She has no right to command you directly without Lord Ares's approval. Stay where you are and don't move rashly!!" — Desperate to save his own life
Regular Army Soldiers: "..." — Taking no action
Dalei: "You?" — Surprised and dissatisfied
Acting Governor: "Yes, that's right. Remember, I'm Lord Ares's favorite. She's just an exiled daughter." — Relieved
Dalei: "You traitor, you've been flattering my father behind my back. Don't forget who made you what you are today."
Acting Governor: "Your Highness, please calm down. To put it in Eastern terms, I'm just being a wise bird choosing the right tree to perch on, a wise minister choosing the right lord to serve, and a wise person knowing the times. I'm just doing what a smart person should do."
I (Narrator): "Is this what a smart person does? You're just setting up your own death flag. To speak to a female villain who will still be alive and thriving five years later like this, what else is it but courting death?"
Dalei: "Smart person? You call yourself smart? You don't know that my father's order to exile me was part of a plan I agreed to. I'm not an unfilial daughter. On the contrary, he trusts me so much that he entrusted me with the important task of negotiating with S.H.I.E.L.D. and gave me full authority without needing to consult him. Even if you aren't killed by these spies and are rescued, you won't have a good end." — Threatening
Acting Governor: "Heh heh heh, is that so? According to the intelligence I gathered from my regular reports to the capital, New Syra, Lord Ares's exile of you wasn't just for show, but partly real, intentionally removing you from the center of power. Entrusting the negotiation with S.H.I.E.L.D. to you was to delay your return. This is widely known in the Amazonian tribe. Otherwise, why wouldn't the regular army follow your orders just now? You're already yesterday's news, hahaha." — Overconfident
I (Narrator): "Still laughing, still laughing. Do you need more death flags? Besides, you're a hostage now. Why aren't you afraid of being killed by the kidnappers, but instead afraid of Dalei gaining command of the regular army? She poses a greater threat to your life than the kidnappers?"
Chapter Note: Red Skull (Red Skull) is originally named Johann Schmidt. In this book, I use "Agent Smith" because the actor Hugo Weaving, who played Red Skull in the 2011 film "Captain America," left a deep impression on me from his performances in "The Matrix" and "The Lord of the Rings." When I saw him in "Captain America," my first thought was not "Red Skull is here," but "Agent Smith and the Elven King are in the wrong movie set."
