Chapter 36

Moses held in his hand the very Mike War Charms, two of them, one Type I and one Type II.
These were bought by Gong Sun Murong and his sister when they visited a magic supplies store, and they were quite cheap.
Ordinary people might not pay attention to magic supplies and wouldn’t recognize them.
The head guard and the guards, including Lucia, all knew what these were.
They were also known as Lambert Kipling Disordered Hexagram Magic Stars.
Magic stores sold them, and for a dozen gold coins, one could buy one to study and learn.
Better-made ones cost several dozen gold coins.
First, you needed a crystal core to power them.
Of course, the number of gold coins wasn’t the main point now.
The main point was that the Mitchell Empire’s carefully planned attack ultimately failed due to these two small items, falling from a height of over 2,500 meters.
The Type I and Type II Mike War Charms, when used together, indeed rendered any magic spaceship temporarily useless, just as the books described.
It seemed the teachers who wrote the textbooks weren’t lying.
But the feeling was really complex. Was an empire’s magic battle spaceship just finished like this?
It had gone through numerous dangers and was filled with hope for a decisive attack, but in the end, it just crashed to the ground.
"Oh, oh, oh, Nalasha and Brother Murong’s trump card was indeed powerful. Justice ultimately triumphed over evil," Lucia exclaimed, jumping and shouting excitedly.
Her head guard and the guards were depressed.
Was this the answer they wanted? No, absolutely not.
For the love of the gods.
What they wanted to know was the true trump card of Gong Sun Murong and Sophia Nalasha.
Not the Type I and Type II Mike War Charms.
Yes, the true trump card. Moses certainly didn’t expect his young master to throw out the Mike War Charms.
This indicated they had other trump cards, just not used.
"Alright, I’ve decided to return to the academy for further studies. At least I’ll remember to always carry a few Mike War Charms with me. I have to admit, their destructive power is really great," the head guard said, frowning.
"Very good, I agree. Now, continue cleaning up, I’ll rest. And as for them, keep them under watch. If they’re not a threat, don’t waste our carefully prepared food," Lucia also entered the carriage.
The group of people the old man called refugees were still there, clearly terrified.
The ambush in the snow, the crossbows, the large-scale magic, the group of warriors and mages, the battle spaceship, and the crash.
From start to finish, it took less than two minutes.
Earlier, wasn’t it said that they would be taken to the capital for free and given jobs to earn enough money to live?
Now everything had changed. The good people actually attacked others and lost.
Who were the people on both sides?
The guards asked and found out they were a group of pitiful people.
They had been used.
According to the normal plot, the princess should have personally delivered food to them, and then the attack would have come suddenly.
In the chaos, the princess might have escaped by chance, running to the road, and then the other side’s attack would appear again.
If the princess could hold on, the spaceship would arrive, lock on, and complete the mission.
And these true refugees would die in the previous battle, and then with the princess gone, they would be killed by the duke in anger.
The script was good, and the plot was reasonable.
But there was an unexpected turn during the performance.
Nalasha, who accompanied the Ninth Princess, was absolutely a genius among geniuses in the magic field. Her perception was too strong, and her reaction was too fast.
She could instantly cast large-scale magic, and she controlled it with ease.
Her guards moved quickly and cooperated seamlessly.
Her brother Murong acted decisively and even carried the Mike War Charms.
Would a normal person carry war charms with them?
The result of the miscalculation was that the script didn’t go as originally imagined.
It could be imagined that the old man’s battle aura class was high.
He was one of the hidden killers.
What couldn’t be imagined was that the young master Murong attacked the old man the moment he sensed danger.
The old man must have felt fear and started to release his battle aura, but it was too late.
Young Master Murong truly disregarded life and death, showing no mercy.
Wasn’t he afraid of killing the wrong person?
Perhaps he didn’t care about right or wrong. He just acted according to his survival instinct. Living meant having a chance to repent.
Of course, the most likely scenario was that he noticed something was off about the old man, or even from the first time he saw him.
Who knows, he wouldn’t say.

Everyone’s thoughts were complex, including the group of refugees.
Princess Lucia always believed that her principality had a bountiful harvest every year and would not have any famine provinces.
The refugees were from the Peg Province.
To be precise, from the Mag City in Peg Province, where there was a lake with the same name.
Mag Lake was divided into two parts by a winding, narrow strip of land, one half freshwater and the other half saltwater.
Mag Lake was famous for its pearls and delicious Magi fish.
"I know that place, but I don’t understand why it suffered a drought. Did the lake water disappear? Would the beautiful pearls and delicious Magi fish disappear too?" Lucia said sadly, unsure if she was sad for the refugees or for the pearls and fish.
"More people are coming, a lot of them," Nalasha, who was supposed to be sleeping, wasn’t actually sleepy and quickly warned.
Everyone immediately became alert. When they saw the approaching group, they breathed a sigh of relief.
About two hundred people arrived, each wearing armor, holding a round shield in one hand and a broadsword in the other, with battle aura floating around them.
The head guard went forward and asked the leader, "Captain Milo, on patrol duty?"
"Yes, Commander Weiss. Our Sixth Patrol Squad just arrived at the West Gate and sensed a battle. Our duty compelled us to rush here despite the danger," Captain Milo said solemnly.
His eyes, however, were fixed on the place where the battle magic spaceship had crashed.
"Very well, brave warriors of the empire," Commander Weiss praised, then continued, "The enemy has been defeated by the princess’s guard squad, Captain Milo. You can continue your patrol."
"Truly formidable combat power. Thank you for protecting Princess Lucia. Are these all the captives?" Captain Milo praised them and then casually pointed to the bound people.
"Yes, they ambushed the princess, but the powerful princess ultimately defeated them and captured many prisoners," Commander Weiss puffed out his chest proudly.
"Then, I believe, Commander Weiss, you should continue protecting the princess. The prisoners and the spaceship should be handled by our Sixth Patrol Squad. I’m sure you don’t want to divide your forces to guard the prisoners, putting the princess at risk. Men, go and take them."
As Captain Milo spoke, he led his men toward the prisoners.
Commander Weiss moved a few steps, blocking Captain Milo’s path, staring at him with a peculiar look and shaking his head slightly.
"Captain Milo, please continue your patrol with your warriors. The princess has already sent an emergency signal, and the people the duke arranged will arrive soon, or you can wait here for them."
"No, Commander Weiss, I don’t understand what you mean. We have the responsibility to capture those who endanger the principality. During the wait, something unexpected might happen. Now, let us take the prisoners," Captain Milo tried to go around.
"No, the prisoners cannot be handed over to you. Look, a group of mages is flying over. There won’t be any more unexpected events," Commander Weiss blocked him again and pointed behind him.
Sure enough, many mages were flying over.
Captain Milo’s eyes suddenly showed anxiety. He glanced back at the approaching mages, gritted his teeth, pointed at the prisoners, and shouted, "Look, a prisoner is resisting. Protect the princess, kill!"
As he spoke, he charged at Commander Weiss, and his men rushed toward the prisoners.
Even the nearby refugees eating understood what the Sixth Patrol Squad wanted to do.
They were terrified again.
"Stop them, protect the prisoners," Commander Weiss punched at Captain Milo.
Others quickly joined in to block them.
But the Sixth Squad moved too fast, and more than twenty of them had already reached the prisoners.
They swung their swords and slashed down fiercely.
Then, amidst the shock of the flying mages, the anger of Commander Weiss and his men, and the confusion of the refugees, the sound of ice breaking was heard.
The sound wasn’t as crisp as breaking glass; there were only a few 'crack' sounds, and the rest were somewhat muffled.
When the pile of broken ice scattered on the ground, the supporting mages flew overhead, and Commander Weiss and his men breathed a sigh of relief, and Captain Milo, who was fighting Commander Weiss, stopped in a daze... Nalasha’s voice came.
"Warriors of the Sixth Patrol Squad, you successfully eliminated the prisoners. Thank you for protecting Princess Lucia. Now... should we talk about something else?"
At that moment, Lucia, hiding beside Nalasha and Gong Sun Murong, was full of anger.
"Arrest them, kill those who resist, kill them all, and their families too."
Lucia was young, but the education she received was different from other children.
How could she not understand what Captain Milo and the entire Sixth Patrol Squad were trying to do?
It was obvious, they were... trying to eliminate witnesses.
If even the principality’s army was against them, where was a safe place?
Perhaps the only safe place was near her good friend Nalasha and her brother Murong.
Nalasha was not only willing to protect her, but she and her brother Murong also had the ability to protect her.
It must have been the goddess of luck who made her meet Nalasha.
The forty great mages sent by the duke did not hesitate when the Ninth Princess gave the order. Various control spells were instantly cast.
The two hundred-strong squad was immediately restrained.
The only one who broke free was Captain Milo. His battle aura fully erupted, reaching the first level of the seventh class.
He stomped his feet on the ground, his body leaped into the air, and with the reaction force from his battle aura, he darted out.
"Come down, we’ve seen many people who can break free from magic, me and Brother Murong."
Nalasha’s disdainful voice rang out.
Captain Milo, who was flying, felt his head hit a steel plate. His last thought was... it hurt!
Then he knew nothing.
Under everyone’s gaze, Captain Milo’s body fell to the ground first, followed by a large block of ice from above, which had cracks. The impact was severe.
The ice pressed down heavily, and Captain Milo lay motionless.
Moses and the others swallowed hard. From their young mistress’s words, they knew that in the desert, they had also encountered special battle auras that could break free from magic.
When trying to fly, they hit something on their heads.
In the desert, the young mistress wouldn’t have created a large block of ice.
So, it must have been a solid 'stone' formed from sand and gravel.
It really hurt.
The forty great mages’ eyes all fell on Nalasha.
They finally understood why the Ninth Princess was still safe and sound.
There was actually a great mage by her side, and she was just a little girl.
Who would have thought that a talented little girl could suddenly transform in a critical moment and casually cast a large-scale spell?
It was hard to imagine that such a genius could appear in the principality.
Before, they only heard that a certain empire had a magic genius that appeared once in several decades.
In the main country of the principality, the Rexlar Empire, it was said that a hundred years ago, a child was born as a great mage.
The child caused a lot of trouble at birth, but fortunately, it was in the capital, and with the help of countless mages, everything was stabilized.
That child is now the empire’s first divine mage, Raymond Charlesdin.
Could the Gers Principality also produce such a person? Hopefully, the genius won’t fall too early.
"Justice ultimately triumphed over evil." Nalasha and Lucia cheered together, holding hands and jumping.
Gong Sun Murong remained quiet, not because he didn’t want to be more showy.
He was also young and liked to be admired.
But he knew that Nalasha had already exposed too much strength, which would inevitably draw attention.
The more strength he exposed, the more prepared the enemies would be when they attacked.
Being able to endure loneliness and solitude, and resist the desires in his heart, was not a bad thing.
Listening more, observing more, thinking more, and speaking less, the smart butler once said, "Deep water flows slowly, and a noble person speaks late."
Gong Sun Murong comforted himself, and his mood indeed improved.
******
The assassination attempt seemed to be over.
Lucia was unharmed.
The true refugees who had fled also had no casualties.
The Mitchell Empire’s battle spaceship crashed, with twenty-one captives and three hundred and fifty deaths.
The two hundred members of the Sixth Patrol Squad were arrested.
The immediate task was to collect the spaceship debris, transport the main body of the spaceship, and find the relevant people to repair it after returning to the city.
But everyone knew this was just the beginning.
