She practiced for a long time until there came a knock on the door. She stopped practicing and opened her eyes. It was already dark outside.

Aunt Li called Ning Shu downstairs for dinner. She was the only one in the house and so she sat alone at the dinner table. After enjoying the meal at her leisure, she went back upstairs.
