“Because I’m not Song Mo.” After staying silent for a moment, Bai Zhe said this without any emotion.
Fengguang sincerely replied, “It’s because you are you that I would like you.”
Bai Zhe was Bai Zhe.
A crack of emotion appeared in his cold expression.
“The relationship between Song Mo and I was determined by our parents. I don’t even like him. I came back this time because I plan to dissolve our marriage plans. I know you work for him. I’ve already given it some thought. You can come work at my company in the future or if you don’t want to work, I’ll be the breadwinner and that’s fine too.”
“…What did you say?”
“I’m serious. Everything is fine as long as you stay by my side.”
Bai Zhe caressed her cheek with his hand. “We’ve only known each other for two days.”
“Two days is enough. You have feelings for me, right?” She clasped her hand on top of his hand as she softly asked, her eyes filled with hope.
Bai Zhe didn’t reply. Instead lowered his head to hers and kissed her heavily on the lips. This was different from the two shallow kisses she had initiated before. His tongue pried open her teeth and invaded inside her mouth. It felt soft and wet, and it was as though his tongue was dancing, fully enjoying and tasting every corner.
Fengguang’s heart raced. She was entirely passive at first but she couldn’t help but admit she enjoyed it. Slowly, she started to respond to him and he deepened the kiss.
After a while, once their passionate entanglement ended, Bai Zhe wrapped his arm around her waist, keeping her from falling to the ground. She felt weak and her lips were still glossy and wet from their kiss.

With his other hand, he held one side of her face and gently pressed against her lips with his thumb which felt slightly cool. Bai Zhe lightly nibbled on the tip of her ear and softly said, “If these are the feelings you meant, then yes, I admit that I do feel the urge to roughly pin you beneath me.”
Fengguang’s face became intensely reddened.
“Having kissed you, I don’t plan to give you to anyone else,” he said quietly. The hand on her cheek slowly trailed down to her exposed shoulder. Her skin was snowy white and he didn’t want to let go.
A night breeze passed by and Fengguang started shivering. “It’s cold…”
Bai Zhe froze for a second and draped his blazer jacket around her. “You should head back.”
“I still want to stay with you a little longer.” She dove into his chest and wrapped her arms around him, unwilling to let go.
After a moment, Bai Zhe returned her hug. “If you don’t go back, your father will be worried.”
“He knows I won’t die out here so he won’t worry about me at all.” Her father in this world, never ever questioned her ability to survive.
He seemed to let out a sigh. “On what condition will you agree to go home?”
“If you kiss me again.” She lifted her head and closed her eyes, her lips curved.
As she wished, Bai Zhe kissed her… on the eyelid. Fengguang opened her eyes to stare at him unhappily. She didn’t want that kind of kiss. She wanted that kind of kiss!
“I’ve already kissed you. Let’s go.” He held hands with her and led her out of the alleyway. She was blatantly glaring at him but the dim-lit atmosphere hid the look in his eyes from her.
In such a dark environment where no one is around, he couldn’t guarantee that in his blood-boiling state of impulsiveness, that he would be able to kiss her on her sweet lips and not do anything beyond that.
When the clock struck midnight, the banquet had already long ended before then and the Xia family miss finally returned home. Xia Chao was seated on the sofa with a dark and frightening expression on his face. In contrast, Fengguang who entered from the main entrance had a face filled with spring and happiness. All she was missing was a big sign stating that this miss was dating and in love.
Keep calm, keep calm… Xia Chao kept reminding himself in his heart. He then forced himself to manage out a polite question. “Where did you go?”
“I went for dinner,” Fengguang generously replied. Towards the host of the banquet who she had abandoned when she grabbed a man and left, she was not sorry at all.
“Fengguang, don’t forget, you have a fiance.”
“You said it yourself, it’s just a fiance. Even if we get married, we can still get divorced.” She had noticed her father’s expression getting worse but ignored it and continued on. “Moreover, Song Mo doesn’t even like me. He also has so many scandals. Who knows how many women he’s had? So what’s the big deal with me dating one man?”
