Fengguang steadily nodded her head.

He was satisfied that she didn’t scream or cry. He entered the carriage and smilingly, he said, “Don’t be nervous. I just want you to help me.”

“My servant girl and carriage driver…”

“Relax, they only fainted.”

Her eyes swept over his chest. The black cloth was seeping wet with fresh blood.

“You said you wanted me to help you?”

“Whether or not I can get out of the city and whether or not you can live depends on the reputation of the prime minister and how useful his title is.” He smiled again and reached out with his hand. He hit one of her pressure points.

Fengguang instantly became unable to move.

“Be good and I’ll let you keep your tongue.”

She paled.

The man sat across from her and soon, the carriage started moving. Fengguang realized he had associates outside colluding with him.

His injuries were quite severe. He opened up his clothes, revealing a strong chest but on his left side, there was a bloody hole that was off by only a little from his heart. He used his mouth to bite off the lid of a medicine bottle and poured the gold powder onto his wound. He didn’t make a sound but the irregularities in his breathing indicated that this medicine was not painless.

Once he finished treating and wrapping up his wound in cloth, he looked up to see the young girl blushing red across from him. He cocked a brow. “How is it, my body?”

“You need more sun.”

Oh… This meant he was too white. Normally, describing a man as such was not appropriate but he felt deeply honored. “This is one of the few good points that I have.”

Stupid.

Fengguang finally cursed for the first time today.
