I almost rushed to the ward. Inside, only one or two nurses were standing on duty. Zhao Xi, Zhao Qian's father, stood there with a face as pale as paper, his eyes bloodshot with fatigue and defeat. His father had died during the ritual performed by the Daoist he had invited, his daughter had almost been strangled to death in the hall, his son had killed his best friend and was now in the police station, and his wife had gone to the police station with relatives to smooth things over. He, being powerless, could only come to the hospital to take care of his unconscious daughter, only to find that her heart had stopped. Zhao Xi panicked; deep self-reproach and helplessness clung to him like vengeful spirits. He didn't know why he was so unlucky, how he had managed to get through this day. If there hadn't been someone beside him, he would have doubted himself and fallen to his knees, wailing.

The atmosphere in the ward was heavy with a chill, almost as if it were about to burst out. The door was half-open, and the two nurses, a mix of cold and fear, were trembling as they performed emergency resuscitation. Zhao Qian lay there, motionless, her face green, and her breathing had stopped, with occasional spasms in her arms and legs.

A pale, seven or eight-year-old boy was kneeling on Zhao Qian's body, his eyes glowing black, his thin, almost transparent hands reaching into her chest, tightly gripping her heart.

The white-clad boy turned his head slowly when he saw me and Han Shanshan arrive. His eyes had no white in them, as if warning and blocking the approach of strangers.

Then, the boy let out a sharp roar, his black eyes almost bulging out, and the chill air surged like a floodgate had been opened.

Bang! Bang! The two doors kept closing and opening, and the lights on the ceiling flickered on and off.

The figure of the white-clad boy appeared with the flickering lights. Zhao Xi's eyes suddenly opened wide, looking at the scene in front of him with fear, unable to speak, and wanting to rush over to pull the white-clad boy off his daughter.

The doctors and nurses began to file into the ward, and I frowned deeply.

"Xiaoxi! Han Shanshan, stop them at the door!" I ordered Han Shanshan, walking in front of the two nurses and Zhao Xi, and holding back Zhao Xi, who was desperately trying to grab the boy.

Han Shanshan took out her special task force police ID and blocked the doctors' advance.

I immediately said to Zhao Xi, "Uncle Zhao, take them all out. This isn't something you can handle."

"You can!?" Zhao Xi looked at me, his eyes filled with surprise and doubt. I revealed Xijun's soul jar, and a red figure appeared beside me.

The boy kneeling on Zhao Qian finally felt fear, pulling back his hands, but Xijun dragged him off Zhao Qian like a dead dog!

"Xijun! Eat him!" I commanded.

With my permission, Xijun bit the screaming and wailing boy into pieces without hesitation. Zhao Xi watched this, his eyes wide open, as if he were possessed.

He might not have expected that the migrant worker his daughter had been with all day would have a ghost that eats ghosts.

I took out the spirit-stabilizing talismans and ghost-expelling talismans I had stolen from Master Canyun and placed them under Zhao Qian.

Brother Tian, Zhao Qian's heart started beating again, and she gradually regained consciousness, her face still pale.

It seems there's still something on her.

"Everyone out! No one comes in without my permission!" I looked at Zhao Xi firmly, indicating that he should leave, and also shooed the two nurses out.

"Out! Out! Give the master room to save her!" Zhao Xi immediately shouted at the two nurses, who, seeing that he wasn't leaving, looked at him with some displeasure. He knew that if his daughter still had something unclean on her, it could be too late.

The two young nurses, seeing that Zhao Qian had regained consciousness, didn't know what was happening. They couldn't see Xijun or the boy, but the flickering lights, the opening and closing of the door, and the chill in the room made them feel afraid. Night shift workers knew that this was the most terrifying time of the day.

With the family's order, they had no reason to stay, so they held hands and ran out.

"Please, Master, save my daughter!" Zhao Xi, with tears in his eyes, begged me as he left.

"Of course, Uncle Zhao, I would do it even if you didn't ask." I nodded, watching them close the door, and I felt relieved.

"Xijun, guard her."

After saying that, I began to take off Zhao Qian's small coat, carefully examining her but finding nothing. I started to explore every detail of her body, including the private areas of a girl, her bra, and even prepared to check under her.

Zhao Qian's skin was very smooth, like milk, radiating a unique teenage girl's aura under the light. As I examined her body, my face was hot, and the scent that hit me was intoxicating.

Of course, I kept my eyes focused, afraid of missing any signs of a curse. Even if my sister-in-law kept blowing in my ear, I ignored her.

After all, I was doing this with the utmost seriousness and respect. And look at Zhao Qian, her face as red as a watermelon, and she didn't say a word.

I believed that even if my sister-in-law didn't understand now, she would understand later.

Under my touch, Zhao Qian struggled a bit, and after a while, she couldn't bear it and said embarrassedly, "Brother Tian, I actually have some spirit-stabilizing talismans and ghost-expelling talismans in my pocket."

"Huh? What did you say?" I was taken aback and stopped my hand from reaching her underwear.

"I have talismans in my pocket. I'm not cursed," Zhao Qian said, her face as red as a dragon fruit, turning her head away.

Was this a misunderstanding?

My face turned red instantly, and I coughed to cover my embarrassment. "Ah, I was just afraid you didn't notice. I wanted to check to be sure."

"Uh," Zhao Qian said embarrassedly, "I think you were just being deliberate, Brother Tian!"

I buttoned up her coat and covered her with a blanket. Zhao Qian buried her head in the sheets.

Afraid of leaving a bad impression on Zhao Qian, I felt very embarrassed and opened the door, saying to Zhao Xi and Han Shanshan, "It's fine, there's no major problem. After the doctor checks and prescribes some medicine, she should be fine. It's just a chill, nothing serious."

"Thank you, Master. I was negligent before! I didn't expect a true master to be so humble!" Zhao Xi immediately grabbed my hand, praising me highly.

I felt embarrassed, thinking, "I just accidentally did something to your daughter, so you don't need to be so polite."

"Ha ha, even if Uncle Zhao didn't say it, Zhao Qian is my good friend, and I wouldn't ignore her. If I hadn't underestimated the opponent, Zhao Qian wouldn't have suffered so much." I shook my head and laughed bitterly, feeling very regretful.

I didn't expect that after Zhao Zhou and Wu Zhenghua left, they could still curse Zhao Qian and Zhao He. Even Master Wang Heng from the Wang family couldn't control the situation and was killed with a brick.

No matter what, it was my mistake, Uncle Zhao. From now on, you are the benefactor of the Zhao family. If you need anything, just say it. Zhao Xi held my hand tightly.

"Uncle Zhao, you're too polite. I can feel your trembling, and you seem very grateful. This makes me feel a bit uncomfortable."

"Do you really have such great abilities?" Han Shanshan looked at Zhao Qian, who was buried in the sheets, and then at me, suspecting something was amiss.

"What do you think?" I smiled indifferently, but my heart was racing. I hoped Zhao Qian wouldn't tell Han Shanshan about what just happened.

"Hmph, it seems you do have some skills." Han Shanshan was still skeptical and went to check on Zhao Qian.

"Uncle Zhao, let's not stand here. Let's talk over there. You can tell me what happened after I left." I led Zhao Xi to the corridor, blocking the doctors from checking Zhao Qian.

This was a VIP ward, so when they heard that Zhao Qian's heart had stopped, the doctors were very anxious. Not only the on-duty doctors but also those who were sleeping rushed over.

The doctors examined Zhao Qian and found that she was just a bit cold and had been overly frightened. There seemed to be no major issues with her body, and they were relieved.

They then hurriedly performed a CT scan, an ECG, and other comprehensive tests, finding nothing wrong, and decided not to trouble Zhao Qian further.

They didn't know what I had done in the ward, but after the mysterious events, rumors started. Some said I was a medical expert, some said I was a disciple of a famous acupuncture master, and some even said I was a witch doctor. All sorts of rumors were flying.

But I guessed it was all due to Han Shanshan's wild imagination; others wouldn't come up with such stories.

In the corridor, Zhao Xi told me that after I left, nothing strange happened in the hall. The old man was placed in the coffin, and the family members gradually arrived from the county.

He then brought Master Wang Heng to offer incense and perform the rituals. Around 4 a.m., everyone was tired and half of the people in the hall were asleep.

Zhao Qian, grieving over her grandfather's death, stayed up with a few relatives, offering incense to the old man.

Suddenly, Master Wang Heng appeared from behind and strangled Zhao Qian. She couldn't call for help and was almost dead. The relatives tried to pull Wang Heng away but couldn't.

Fortunately, Zhao He had just returned from the bathroom. Seeing his sister being strangled, he didn't hesitate and hit Wang Heng with a brick, cracking his head open.

No one expected Zhao He to hit so hard. With just one blow, Wang Heng's brain was smashed out, and he died. His body was now in the morgue waiting for the police to perform an autopsy.

Zhao He was charged with excessive self-defense and manslaughter.

Others didn't know why Zhao He hit so accurately and forcefully, but I did. I remembered how he had killed Zhang Kaifu in Xiaoyi Village. It seemed that from then on, Zhao He had found his knack for using bricks.

Zhao He was in the police station, but Zhao Qian didn't know yet.
