Xuan!

As I was almost at the point of giving up, a tragic roar made the blood corpse pause in its movements.

Suddenly, a tall man rushed in from the doorway and plunged a sharp object into the back of the blood corpse.

The blood corpse seemed to lose all its strength instantly and fell beside me.

I stood up in a daze, leaned over to one side and vomited, then looked at the blood corpse. I noticed that the sharp object was a pair of scissors, with a talisman paper wrapped around it.

I looked at the man. He was wearing a death shroud and paper shoes, now panting heavily, kneeling on the ground, covering his face, and repeatedly calling Xuan's name.

Isn't this Zhang Yidan? I exclaimed, "Yidan?"

"Wah, Brother Tian! Why did you come? Xuan is dead, she's really dead. My sister-in-law, wah." Zhang Yidan, holding his unrecognizable wife, cried uncontrollably. When he heard my call, he looked up at me, and a look of dependency from his youth naturally appeared in his eyes.

I didn't know what to say. Faced with Xuan, the dead people outside the village, and the current situation, I had no solution. I'm not my grandmother; she knew everything and could save people with a wave of her hand.

If it weren't for Zhang Yidan's timely appearance, I would probably be dead now.

Yu Xiaoxue cried, kneeling on the ground, wiping her tears, her face streaked with tears.

There weren't many households in the village. She and Xuan's sister-in-law had a good relationship and often played cards and watched TV dramas together in their free time. Occasionally, they would go shopping together in Kanglong Village or the town. Seeing this tragic scene, it was good that she hadn't had a mental breakdown.

I looked at the talisman marks drawn from head to toe on Xuan's body. While feeling sad, I realized that she wasn't turned into a blood corpse but a vengeful corpse.

The scissors stuck in her body had a soul-sealing talisman paper on them. The clearly messy handwriting on the paper showed that it was my grandmother's work.

She might have been scared out of her wits. If it were a blood corpse, a single talisman paper wouldn't have any effect. However, even so, Xuan died unjustly, suffering greatly in life and having her soul refined after death. Now, with her soul sealed by the master, she would never be able to reincarnate.

Sister-in-law didn't warn me, so Zhang Yidan is a living person. But why is he wearing a death shroud?

After a long silence, Zhang Yidan reorganized Xuan's clothes, carried her to an empty place, and then sat down beside me.

"Brother Tian, once we're here, we can't leave."

Zhang Yidan's first words left me speechless. Yu Xiaoxue also widened her eyes in fear and huddled closer to me.

"Why? Who told you that?"

"A few days ago, Grandma made the villagers leave. If they didn't leave, they couldn't leave. She died, and everyone had to die here. Some said it was to accompany her in death."

Zhang Yidan's face was so pale that I was worried.

"Why didn't you leave then?" I continued, because I had heard from Yu Xiaoxue that he left with Xuan on the day my grandmother died. Something must have delayed them.

Zhang Yidan shook his head and glanced at Xuan nearby.

"Brother, your sister-in-law, but, Snow, do you remember? Your sister-in-law went back to her parents' house a while ago and never returned to Xiaoyi Village."

Yu Xiaoxue was stunned. "She never came back? Then who did she see?"

"I went to your sister-in-law's house, but Xuan never returned there. I couldn't find her anywhere, so I knew something was wrong. I reported it to the police, and they told me to wait in the village for news."

"I waited for several days, and when I couldn't wait any longer, I went to ask Grandma. After she finished her divination, she was stunned. When she came to, she hit me with a broom, asking why I didn't come to her earlier. She said I was the one who killed Xuan. After that, she wiped away her tears."

"Then, Grandma asked me for a pair of scissors Xuan used and rushed into the mountains. I asked her what she was doing, and she said she was going to settle accounts. A few days later, when she returned, I thought she had settled the accounts, but she said she was dying and had prepared a coffin, telling everyone in the village to leave immediately."

"I saw her as if nothing had happened and asked her several times. She finally said she had been ambushed. The other side was well-prepared, not only ruining the village's feng shui and turning the life gate into a death gate but also using twenty years to create something called a Blood Cloud Coffin to trap her. She said she wouldn't live more than seven days. When she returned, only two days were left. She told me to leave immediately, without any delay."

Zhang Yidan smiled bitterly. "I should have left when Grandma told me to, and it would have been better to know nothing and have a good memory."

"But I realized that things weren't that simple. Otherwise, Grandma wouldn't have hit me with a broom. Later, when I stubbornly refused to leave, she finally told me that Xuan had been turned into a walking corpse, and she had gone to settle accounts."

"I didn't believe her at first, but when I saw Xuan, I cried for a long time. Xuan was indeed a walking corpse, and the scissors were still in her body. I swore to avenge her."

"Grandma said she couldn't take revenge, and neither could I."

"Then she gave me a talisman water to drink and prepared a death shroud for me, telling me to bury Xuan at the village entrance. But when I brought Xuan to the cemetery, I couldn't bear to bury her, so I pulled out the scissors, hoping she would come back to life. She did, but she didn't recognize me in the death shroud and ran away."

Yu Xiaoxue was stunned, recalling the coldness of the moment. It turned out they were going to bury Xuan.

"I realized she wasn't Xuan anymore and ran back to tell Grandma. She sighed and told me to pretend to be dead and wait on the road for Xuan. If I didn't see her, I should leave and never come back. I waited for two days and saw you, Brother Tian."

"I pretended to be a ghost to stop you from returning to the village, but you didn't listen. I thought I couldn't ignore Grandma's advice this time and had to keep my identity as a dead person hidden, so I hid and waited for Xuan. I waited until midnight and finally saw her. She ran very fast, and I chased her for a long time before reaching here. You know what happened next."

Zhang Yidan's story left Yu Xiaoxue and me stunned. Given his low education, it was impressive that he managed to avoid swearing.

After a long time, connecting it with what Yu Xiaoxue had said, the situation seemed to match. Analyzing the events, Xuan wasn't the beginning of the story. Someone had spent decades preparing the Blood Cloud Coffin to ambush my grandmother, and Xuan was just a trigger.

Ruining Xiaoyi Village's feng shui and turning the life gate into a death gate. I remembered why Sister-in-law didn't let me return to Kanglong Village when I was heading to Xiaoyi Village. I had entered the death gate. I don't understand feng shui well, but entering the death gate and trying to return is a dead end. To leave, one must go through the life gate.

As I was thinking about the feng shui, I suddenly felt Sister-in-law tug at me, and I immediately stood up.

"Wah!"

Then, a child's cry echoed, and I looked in the direction of the sound.

Xuan's belly had swollen, and then it seemed to be torn open. A blood-red baby crawled out!

Zhang Yidan was stunned, staring at the blood-covered ghost baby with his mouth wide open.

Yu Xiaoxue and I were also terrified. In that instant, the ghost baby pulled out the scissors from Xuan's body and lunged at us!

The father killed the mother, and this ghost baby was after Zhang Yidan!

In a split second, I realized what was happening and quickly grabbed the blood-stained bench Yu Xiaoxue had dropped and smashed it at the ghost baby!

The ghost baby ignored me, dodged the bench, and stabbed Zhang Yidan with the scissors. I kicked the ghost baby away at the last moment!

The ghost baby rolled out the door, grinned at me, and stared at Zhang Yidan with its blood-red eyes before quickly disappearing into the night.

Raising a ghost with a walking corpse! It created the illusion that Zhang Yidan killed Xuan. This ghost baby must hate Zhang Yidan deeply. If the ghost baby killed Zhang Yidan, it would be a tragic human drama of a father killing the mother and a son killing the father.

My heart raced, and I couldn't bear to think further. Who could be so evil to come up with such a cruel plan?

Grandma's talisman destroyed Xuan, but she didn't expect there was a baby in Xuan's belly. Despite all her calculations, she was still outsmarted.

Don't underestimate the ghost baby. Once it returns to the person who created it, it will quickly become more than a simple talisman can handle. When Zhang Yidan encounters it, he will be in grave danger. But is it just Zhang Yidan's life at stake?

I thought it wouldn't be that simple. The ghost baby will remember this, and I won't be safe either.

Zhang Yidan's face was terrifyingly pale, and he couldn't speak. I shook him several times, but he didn't come to his senses.

"Yidan! Listen to me, this child isn't really yours! What you see is just the surface!" I shouted at Zhang Yidan.

Zhang Yidan's eyes were lifeless. It was his child, and his wife had just died. The courage that kept him going was gone.

"It's all the work of the person behind this!" I almost shouted at Zhang Yidan.

"No, Brother Tian, that's my child," Zhang Yidan was in a daze. Anyone who experienced this wouldn't recover easily.

It seems Zhang Yidan is finished.

I then looked at Yu Xiaoxue and saw that although she was scared, she was relatively fine. But with such a major event, staying to guard the spirit and leaving were now on the agenda.

I couldn't just let Yu Xiaoxue and Zhang Yidan wait to die. If my grandmother were still alive, she wouldn't want us to risk our lives to guard her body.
