Yohan finished his conversation with the mercenaries and ordered the recon team to move out. Saeri and the others had overheard his conversation and were looking at Yohan with mixed feelings. However, Yohan wasn’t going to change his mind. This was something that had been long overdue. He had to take care of it no matter what.

Despite clearing out a bunch of zombies when they were moving around earlier, there was still a good number of undead around. The recon team dragged their exhausted bodies back toward their home camp. Everyone was tired from the long battle. Yohan knew that he had to end this fight right here, right now. No matter what.

They shifted the barbed-wiring on the edge of their territory and entered. This was their home domain. They knew the best way to infiltrate the recon team shelter without being noticed. As predicted, the Seoul Survival Union bastards were still inside the building.

“Two on the roof and one on the second floor window.” Yohan spoke to Corporal Ong through the walkie-talkie. Corporal Ong was at a position where he could clearly see into the recon team’s home building and snipe the three enemies.

Immediately, the Union members that were exposed on the roof and by the windows hid themselves. They realized now that the recon team was surrounding them. Yohan made the recon team spread out. As they encircled the building, the enemy tried to stop them. However, Corporal Ong’s deadly sniping was hitting them from a place that their bullets could not reach. After the fourth Union member fell, they no longer peeked over the roof or poked their heads out of the window.

They were in a stalemate now. The position of the invaders and camp owners had switched. It was an odd scenario that was manufactured by the home team. The situation was tense. People kept posturing as if they were going to attack, but neither side made the first move. They kept their distance and did not move into firing range.

The stagnation dragged on. Just as Yohan was thinking that it was time for Genie to make his move, Gae Baek Jung’s voice came through the walkie-talkie. Compared to a few hours ago, his voice was more calm and subdued, but he still sounded pretty angry.

— “I’ve been in a lot of fights, but this the first time I’ve felt so dirty. You bastard, how dare you attack us when you know how many hostages we have. Huh?”

It was a cliched threat. Yohan calmly pressed the transmit button and spoke clearly, enunciated each word carefully.

“Drop your weapons and surrender. I’ll spare your life.”

— “Hahaha!” Gae Baek Jung’s laugh on the other side of the walkie-talkie sounded like he had swallowed the steam funnel of a locomotive. Yohan frowned and lowered the walkie-talkie slightly.

“I won’t say it twice.”

— “Your joke is too much. You’ve taken it too far. I’m not sure how you know me, but the fact that you attacked me despite knowing who I am is a big mistake. I’ll do you one better. Drop your weapons this instant and gather in front of the door butt naked. You seem very useful, so I’ll give you the chance to work under me. Kneel before me and suck my dick. I’ll spare your life.”

This time, Yohan laughed. In spite of the situation, Gae Baek Jung was still making perverted jokes.

— “You’re laughing? From this point forward, I’ll start cutting off people’s limbs every five minutes.”

“Do it.”

— “What?”

“Just kill everyone. Even if you kill everyone in there, none of you will be able to come out alive. Every night, I’ll come in and kill some of you. I don’t think you can afford to sleep for a single moment. The moment you fall asleep, I’ll be coming to kill you.”

— “You cocky bastard.”

“I’m always going to be watching you until the day you die. Just like your underlings that died. Oh, and don’t worry, I promise that I’ll give you the most painful and cruel death possible.”

Having said his piece, Yohan turned off the walkie-talkie. On the side side of the conversation, Gae Baek Jung slammed his walkie-talkie on the table and started breathing heavily.

“Ahhhhh!” Gae Baek Jung couldn’t hold in his anger anymore. He smashed the radio over and over again, letting his rage continue until the communication device was completely broken. It wasn’t enough though, as he picked up the device and threw it across the room. Machine parts scattered feebly across the floor. All of his underlings watched on with stiff expressions on their face.

“That bastard…” Gae Baek Jung ran down to the underground area. Breathing heavily, he kicked open the door.

The survivors flinched as soon as he entered. The remains of Lieutenant Ahn, with its head destroyed, were still in front of the door and Seo Jun’s body was lying down next to it. There was a yellow plastic bin off to the side that contained some of the survivor’s equipment that was taken away. It seemed like someone had pissed their pants, as a notable stench filled the air of the chamber.

Gae Baek Jung panted as he stared at the survivors, looking as if he was going to charge at them at any moment. The survivors felt their knees go numb every time his sharp glares landed on them. Just then, Seo Jun’s body flinched for a moment. However, Gae Baek Jung didn’t notice it as he was trying to calm himself down.

“I guess you guys were on his bad side, seeing the way your leader was pestering me to kill all the hostages.”

‘No…!’ The camp member reeled in sorrow.

“Hey.” Gae Baek Jung gestured at one of his underlings.

“Yes, sir.”

“10 people. Cut off the heads of 10 people and throw them outside the terrace. Show these bastards who they’re going up against.”

“Yes, sir.”

Gae Baek Jung raised his gun. He aimed into the crowd and the camp members started screaming and pushing each other to get as far away as possible within the tiny chamber. Gae Baek Jung switched his gun to automatic and was about to shoot them down when Genie pulled his gun down.

“Wait, honey.”

“What is it?”

“There’s no need to do this.”

Gae Baek Jung had a terrifying look on his face. He looked like he was going to kill his spouse. A cold sweat ran down Genie’s back as he handed over the documents from Yohan’s office. It was the documents pertaining to the zombie wave. Gae Baek Jung frowned as he looked over the documents.

‘Didn’t we already check these?’

“What about it?”

“Let’s say that everything written here is actually true…look, there’s a lot of people gathered here. A zombie wave will come. Unlike those guys outside, we have functioning doors. If a zombie wave does occur, they won’t be able to withstand it. All we have to do is wait them out. There’s no need to rush.”

“Do you think being in a zombie wave and having a mutant appear is any better? Besides, how do we know it’s true?”

“Honey, that’s not important.”

Gae Baek Jung started shaking his head, not understanding, but then he stopped as realization hit him. A violent grin replaced his previous angry expression as quickly as if he had just put a mask on. Genie smiled at him and confirmed what he was thinking.

“The fact that the enemy believes in this is what matters. Whether they like it or not, they have no choice but to come in here. There’s no reason to hurt these dogs.” Genie started laughing. Their combat team was in bad shape. In order to recoup their losses, they needed these hostages.

Gae Baek Jung was calm now. He had his signature expression on his face, one that made it difficult to tell if he was angry or smiling. He pulled a woman up by her hair.

“Ah!”

“I still need to show these dogs who their owner is.” Gae Baek Jung dragged the woman up the stairs by her hair. Once he was by the wall next to the second floor terrace, he sliced into her neck, essentially cutting it halfway off. Deep crimson blood started flowing down from her neck. Then, he kicked her onto the terrace outside.

“Oh…oh…oh…” The woman looked as if she was still trying to figure out what just happened. She held onto her bleeding neck and walked slowly and unsteadily towards the terrace railing. She yelled out to the rescue group that she couldn’t see. Rather, she tried to.

“Please save…gah…” The woman’s voice turned into a gurgle as her neck and mouth filled with blood. She held onto the railing with pain written all over her face. As she struggled to stay conscious, her body fell over the railing and landed on the ground below with a dull thud. The recon team looked at her grotesquely bent body on the ground.

“That crazy…!” They could see everything from where they were hiding and they were shaking with anger. Unable to hold it in, Hyuk let out a yell and looked as if he was going to dash out at any moment. However, Sweeper stopped him.

“Hey, calm down. Wait for Yohan’s order. Also, don’t bite your lips too hard unless you want to get a wound and get infected.”

“Ah, arg!”

‘I’m angry. I’m angry and bitter.’ However, Hyuk endured it. He didn’t want things to be ruined by his actions anymore.

At that moment, Yohan reiterated his order for everyone to stand by in their current positions. Yohan himself was waiting with a calm expression on his face. If the enemy understood the information in his documents, then they would know about zombie waves. They should understand that Yohan’s group had a disadvantage if they got involved with a zombie wave.

‘Right. Don’t make any stupid moves and wait. We’ll come in just like you want us to.’

The recon team didn’t make any moves. It was cruel and terrible, but he had already told them to steel their resolve. They were unlikely to make any sudden moves. Now was the time to wait. Just then, they heard something coming from the recon team’s dedicated frequency.

— “Yohan, can you hear me?” It was Jung Hwan. Yohan instantly recognized his voice and pulled out his walkie-talkie.

“You’re safe.”

— “Yes, Yohan. Where are you?”

“Come to the S zone parking lot.”

— “Okay!”

Jung Hwan’s voice sounded bright and cheerful, which made Yohan feel relieved. The thing that he was most worried about was resolved. The other recon team members had been worried as well and the sound of Jung Hwan’s voice raised their morale.

Moments later, Jung Hwan joined them. He ran happily to Yohan as soon as he saw him. Behind him was a female student whose name Yohan could not recall. She was the culprit. As soon as Yohan saw her, he realized that she was responsible for this entire situation. However, he did not resent her. What’s done is done. Yohan was half-convinced that Jung Hwan was alive because of her.

“Yohan, about that Soo Hee woman. She’s totally crazy.” Jung Hwan didn’t seem to realize the situation they were in.

“Lower your voice and speak slowly.” Yohan chasitized him.

“Oh… right.” Jung Hwan took a deep breath and then proceeded to relay all the information he heard from Ah Young. His explanation solved the long-time riddle of Park Town.

It seemed like Soo Hee was the actual ruler of the Park Town camp. Michael, the man that Yohan kicked out; Marco, the current leader; and the majority of the men from Park Town were having sex with her. She would manipulate them behind their backs and cleverly exercise her influence on them. Since Yohan rarely made contact with camp members other than the camp leaders and recon team members, this clever manipulation was difficult for him to figure out. On top of that, Marco, the camp leader, was in on it, so naturally it was difficult for Yohan and the recon team members to figure it out.

Soo Hee acted like she was loyal to Yohan in order to avoid suspicion and she never approached men that looked difficult to handle. Instead, she aimed at people who were gullible or mentally unstable and expanded her influence through appeasement and threats. Ah Young was an introvert and couldn’t stand the way Soo Hee aggressively seduced men and habitually threatened them. As such, she avoided the Park Town camp members and ran away to places where they couldn’t find her.

After hearing the whole story, Yohan patted Jung Hwan on the back a couple of times.

“Okay. Good job. Go to your spot. We need to finish this fight first.”
