"Brother Jie, can you help me look out for a booth? See if there’s one available?"
"You want to rent a booth?"
Li Shijie was somewhat disbelieving of what he heard, but he quickly calmed down and noticed Tang Hao’s change. He knew that this was no ordinary person, and renting a booth was inevitable. Moreover, over the past few days, the two had cooperated, and he had made a lot of money. Naturally, he would help if he could: "Actually, there’s one at the second-floor elevator entrance. You know it, right? It seems that business isn’t good, and they want to sell it."
"The one with three booths connected together?" Tang Hao was somewhat familiar with the Tian Di Electronics Building and quickly recalled the market situation.
"Right."
Li Shijie nodded, somewhat helplessly: "But he’s selling all three booths together. It’s a prime location with a lot of foot traffic, but the rent is not cheap. Most people can’t afford it."
"I heard that one booth costs 13,000 a month?" Tang Hao became interested and asked tentatively.
"It’s 13,000, and if you take all three, the monthly rent is 39,000. Plus, there are transfer fees and other expenses, which will add up to quite a bit of money."
Li Shijie was a bit worried and paused, then added: "More importantly, it’s about the future. If business is good, it’s fine, but if it’s not, it could be a problem..."
"Brother Jie, you have a wide network and good relationships. Help me negotiate. I’ll pay 10,000 for the transfer fee and take it."
Tang Hao smiled, not hesitating at all. This was such a good opportunity that he had no reason to let it go.
The entire Tian Di Electronics Building has thousands of booths. Every day, new tenants move in, and old ones leave. Undoubtedly, those who leave do so because their business is bad, and the rent is heavy. It’s normal for people to leave and exit the market.
The heavy rent is a problem for others, but for Tang Hao, it’s manageable. Therefore, regarding the transfer fee, he only offered 10,000, which is not a high transfer fee, but who can blame him when the seller is in a hurry, and the three booths are not something just anyone can afford.
"Alright, I’ll find a time to talk to him tomorrow." Li Shijie opened his mouth, intending to give some advice, but seeing Tang Hao’s confident demeanor, he swallowed his words.
Tang Hao, getting his agreement, paid for thirty refurbished machines and left. He took the elevator to the second floor and deliberately glanced at the three booths at the electronic entrance. He had to admit that this was the most prominent spot in the market. Clenching his fist, he turned and went inside.
"Today, I got thirty more." Tang Wu Tao freed his hands, pressing the stand while speaking.
"Oh."
Tang Hao didn’t hesitate, pulling a high wooden chair in front of the booth and sitting down: "Where’s the list?"
"It’s down there, take it yourself." Tang Wu Tao clearly couldn’t free his hands and didn’t even point.
Tang Hao didn’t say more, rummaging around until he found a list marked with his name. He flipped through it page by page, stopping at the last page and mentally calculating: "In total, it’s 130. I’ll give you 130, which is 17,000."
"Whatever the market price is, that’s fine." Tang Wu Tao shook his head; he didn’t want to make money off his brother.
"Don’t talk nonsense."
Tang Hao ignored him, pulling out a large stack of red bills from his waist pouch, counting out 17,000, and then changing the subject: "I plan to rent the three booths at the elevator entrance."
"What?"
Tang Wu Tao knew his brother’s character. Over the years, he hadn’t done well, but his character hadn’t changed. Without any nonsense, he reached out to take the money but suddenly stopped, his eyes narrowing with worry: "Have you thought about it? It’s a big pit."
"Even if I know it’s a big pit, I have to step in."
Tang Hao was unconcerned, showing confidence: "The bold get fat, the timid go hungry... No risk, no reward."
"Then take the money back. I can still manage with over 10,000."
Tang Wu Tao pulled his hand back, not wanting to take the money.
"Keep it for now. I have money."
Tang Hao threw the money on the counter, jumped off the high wooden chair, and tidied his clothes: "I’ll go pack some things. Come over to my place for a couple of drinks later."
"Half an hour."
"About right."
Half an hour passed quickly. When Tang Hao entered the Tian Di Electronics Building again, it was already quiet, with almost no one around. Carrying two bags of food, he returned to Tang Wu Tao’s booth. There was an extra person by the booth, making him stop involuntarily. Memories flashed in his mind like a movie, and his eyes unconsciously moistened.
"I couldn’t find you downstairs, so I came up."
"Brother."
Tang Hao was clearly taken aback, turning his head to the side to hide his tears, quickly adjusting his emotions: "When did you come?"
"Tomorrow is Sunday, and I have two days off, so I came to check on you." Tang Ran pretended not to notice, speaking casually.
"Okay."
Tang Hao nodded, placing the two bags on the counter without looking at his brother, turning to leave: "I’ll go buy some more things."
Tang Ran watched his brother’s retreating figure, opening his mouth to say something but ultimately not speaking. He had come with questions, doubts, and expectations... a complex purpose. Not finding his brother’s figure in the glass booth downstairs, his heart sank.
"Brother Ran, are you worried about Rat?"
Tang Wu Tao smiled, having finished his work and tidying up some miscellaneous items. He had observed the entire process of the two brothers meeting and said with a smile: "That booth at the entrance, doing nothing, should have been let go long ago."
He paused and added: "Rat is now famous in the entire market. His skills are top-notch. If he weren’t so busy, he could make a lot of money."
"Really?"
"Really."
Tang Wu Tao nodded solemnly, very serious: "I heard he took on 53 machines a few days ago and made nearly 100,000 in profit... I really admire him. He can repair machines, buy them at a low price, fix them, and resell them. The profit is huge... everyone is envious."
"Really..."
"Brother Ran, this is Huashenbei, a place full of miracles. One moment, you can’t even afford the rent, and the next, you can make a fortune. It’s mainly about opportunity and skills. As long as you have one of these, you won’t have to worry about making money." Tang Wu Tao said earnestly.
"Seems like..."
Tang Ran breathed a huge sigh of relief. He had confirmed that everything he had heard was true. His voice grew softer, and in the end, only he could hear: "My brother is amazing."
