The police and the neighborhood watch team pushed the crowd back. A few small hooligans were already beaten to a pulp. Upon seeing the police arrive, the few guys started crying and shouting for the police to save them.

Geng Biao came over and took a look, then asked the students around, "Did they start it?"

Li Mu handed him the butterfly knife and pointed to the class president and two other classmates who were beaten up, saying, "We are students from No. 1 High School. We were having a class reunion today. One of our classmates came to the restroom and was suddenly attacked by these guys. This knife belongs to them, and they were about to stab someone."

After saying that, Li Mu glanced at the class president, who was bruised and swollen, and said to Geng Biao, "The one who got the worst beating is our class president. He is the best student in our school, and he will definitely get into Tsinghua or Peking University this year, or even become the top student in the city. If he ends up like this, the school and his parents won't let it go easily."

Li Mu was trying to convince Geng Biao. The class president's grades weren't the best, and if he remembered correctly, he was going to a key university in the province this year, not a top-tier university. But it didn't matter; the college entrance exam results hadn't come out yet, and Geng Biao wouldn't know if Li Mu was bluffing.

However, hearing this, Geng Biao felt a bit nervous. No. 1 High School was the best high school in Haizhou City, and most of the city's top students came from there. In the past two years, they even had a provincial top student. Every year, several students would get into Tsinghua or Peking University, and the city TV station and newspapers would report on them for the whole summer. They were the pride of the city...

Geng Biao's face was cold, and he had a rough idea of what had happened: the guy with the head injury must have tried to stab someone and was then beaten with a beer bottle. Fortunately! If a student had been seriously injured here, it would have been a big problem for him.

Moreover, these guys had messed with the daughter of the bureau chief's classmate, and the bureau chief's daughter was right there watching. If this matter wasn't handled to Su Yingxue's satisfaction, it could affect his career.

"Handcuff these guys! They were causing trouble, intentionally hurting others, and carrying controlled weapons. Take them back and process the paperwork for criminal detention!"

The hooligans were already beaten up badly, some even half-naked. Hearing this, they felt both wronged and scared. They hadn't been in the business long, and while they had been to the police station before for minor fights, they had never been criminally detained.

Geng Biao then said to the hooligans, "Don't blame me for not warning you. Contact your parents immediately and get ready to pay the medical bills at the city hospital!"

The guy with the head injury pointed to his head and said in a crying voice, "Uncle Police, my head is still bleeding!"

"You deserve it!" Geng Biao glared at him and shouted, "You scum, if you can't behave and become a waste of space, at least don't beat up students. These are future college students, do you know what that means? They are the pride of the nation, much more valuable than trash like you!"

The hooligan cried, "Doesn't reading less mean you deserve to be beaten?"

Geng Biao angrily said, "I said you deserve it, so you do!"

Ignoring the hooligan's complaints, Geng Biao turned to an assistant and said, "Get the injured students to the city hospital quickly."

The hooligans were handcuffed and taken away, their private parts covered with rags. Li Mu accompanied the three injured classmates to the hospital, and to his surprise, Su Yingxue and the vice-class president also followed in a taxi.

With the police present, the city hospital gave them the green light and promptly treated their injuries. The vice-class president called their parents, and the parents of the hooligans also rushed over, likely scared by the police. They were very cooperative.

The other students, who had sobered up after the fight, came to the hospital in groups to check on their classmates.

After a thorough examination, the three injured students were found to have only minor injuries. The worst was a slight fracture in a male student's wrist, but it wasn't a big problem.

Li Mu felt relieved and thought he was being redundant by staying, so he said to Su Yingxue and the vice-class president, "I think everything is fine. Let's all go home."

Su Yingxue nodded, looking at her watch. It was past midnight, and she had never been home this late before.

The vice-class president also called the other students over and handed out ten yuan each for a taxi ride home.

A student asked, puzzled, "Vice-class president, with food, drinks, and singing, fifty yuan per person should be enough, right? Why are you giving money back?"

The vice-class president waved his hand, "It's enough. We got discounts for food and singing, so it's about forty yuan per person."

The students didn't think much of it, took the money, and left the hospital together.

Hu Guo, walking alongside Li Mu, looked at him with admiration, "Li Mu, that beer bottle move was awesome, I was amazed!"

"Right," someone else chimed in, "If Li Mu hadn't knocked that guy out with a beer bottle, I wouldn't have dared to join in. He was scary with that knife!"

"Who wouldn't say that!" Everyone laughed.

The history class representative suddenly said, "If we compare those guys to the Japanese Empire in 1945, Li Mu's beer bottle was like the atomic bomb the U.S. dropped, completely breaking their will to resist."

"Damn... Sun Yubin, you're pretty good at analogies!"

About forty people, a few chose to walk home, while the rest waited for taxis for ten to twenty minutes. In the end, only Li Mu, Su Yingxue, and the vice-class president were left. A taxi arrived, and the vice-class president wanted Su Yingxue to get in first, but she insisted, so he got in instead.

Before the taxi left, the vice-class president said to Li Mu, "Li Mu, our school's top beauty is in your hands. Make sure you get her home safely."

Li Mu nodded and saluted, "I'll make sure of it."

The vice-class president winked at Su Yingxue and then told the driver to go.

After the commotion, only Li Mu and Su Yingxue were left. Li Mu wanted to start a conversation but didn't know what to say. After a moment, he asked, "Yingxue, where do you live?"

"My place is quite close," Su Yingxue looked at Li Mu, "It's less than ten minutes' walk. Want to walk with me?"

"Sure," Li Mu was more than happy to.

In his previous life, he had never had the experience of walking alone with Su Yingxue at night, and even with a second chance, he couldn't help but feel a bit excited.

He had hoped to deepen his relationship with Su Yingxue, but before they had walked twenty meters, a police car stopped beside them. Deputy Chief Geng Biao got out and said, "Yingxue, Chief Su asked me to take you home."

Su Yingxue was stunned and asked, "Did you call my dad?"

"Yes," Geng Biao chuckled, "I'm Chief Su's old subordinate, so I had to let him know to avoid worrying him."

Su Yingxue said irritably, "If you hadn't called, he wouldn't have worried. Go back, I don't need you to take me."

"But..." Geng Biao looked awkward, "I was afraid Chief Su would blame me if he found out later."

Just then, Geng Biao's phone rang. He quickly took it out and answered, "Chief Su, I've found Yingxue. Yes, at the hospital... Okay, wait a moment."

Geng Biao handed the phone to Su Yingxue and whispered, "It's your dad..."

Su Yingxue took the phone reluctantly, said "Hello," and then fell silent. After listening to the other end, she said, somewhat aggrieved, "I know, Dad. I'll be right back."

Hanging up, Su Yingxue apologized to Li Mu, "Sorry, Li Mu. Do you want him to take you home first?"

Li Mu put his hands in his pockets and said nonchalantly, "No problem. You go back quickly. Don't worry your dad. My place isn't far either, and I can take a walk."

Su Yingxue wanted to say something more but gave up. She said to Li Mu, "I'll go back first."

"Okay," Li Mu nodded, feeling a bit disappointed.

Just then, Su Yingxue turned around and asked, "Are you planning to get a driver's license this summer?"

"Sure," Li Mu answered without hesitation. Getting a driver's license before college was important, and it was now a simple and quick process.

"Then let's sign up together," Su Yingxue said, "I heard that Jinan Driving School will have a special batch for high school graduates soon. They offer discounts and a fast certification process, about twenty days."

"Special batch for high school graduates?" Li Mu smiled, "Driving schools offer such services now?"

"Yes, it's more convenient," Su Yingxue smiled slightly, "But the exact date isn't set yet. I'll notify you on QQ when it's time."
