Under the scorching midsummer afternoon sun, Li Mu hurriedly got into Chen Wan's car. The first thing he said after getting in was to ask Chen Wan to take him to the Jinan Driving School registration point.

Chen Wan didn't ask many questions. In her view, Li Mu really should get a driver's license; just being able to drive wasn't enough, and getting caught driving without a license would still be troublesome.

After waiting for about ten minutes, when Chen Wan drove to the registration point, it was around two o'clock. Li Mu could see quite a few students, both boys and girls, queuing up at the entrance from a distance. Even before the car stopped, he saw Su Yingxue at the end of the line.

Su Yingxue stood at the end of the queue, not moving forward with the others. Her face was as calm as usual, but her eyes, darting around, betrayed a hint of anxiety.

Only when she saw Li Mu get out of the Audi parked by the roadside did the anxiety in Su Yingxue's heart finally dissipate. But then she saw the beautiful young woman in the driver's seat, and she felt a mix of confusion and unease.

As soon as Li Mu got out of the car, he ran over to Su Yingxue and asked, "How long have you been here?"

"A few minutes," Su Yingxue smiled slightly, wanting to ask who was driving the car, but upon second thought, she felt she had no reason to ask such a question, so she let it go.

Li Mu glanced at the roughly thirty to forty people in front of them and sighed, "There are quite a few people."

"Um," Su Yingxue nodded, "They're all high school graduates."

Li Mu smiled, "At this time of year, you'd better do a good job of sun protection when learning to drive."

Thinking back to the pain of learning to drive after graduating from university, Li Mu felt a lingering fear. With nearly twenty students per car, the inside of the car was unbearably hot in the summer, and the outside was scorching. You could spend a whole day in line and barely touch the steering wheel twice. By the end of the course, even the fairest-skinned girls would be tanned.

Looking at Su Yingxue's porcelain-like skin, Li Mu couldn't help but worry for her.

Su Yingxue, however, said lightly, "A little sun is good; it makes the skin healthier."

"True, who would have thought you were already so beautiful," Li Mu shrugged and smiled. With Su Yingxue's features and temperament, a little tanning wouldn't significantly affect her beauty.

Su Yingxue blushed slightly at Li Mu's compliment, a feeling she had never experienced from compliments from the opposite sex before. She quickly changed the subject, "Where's your best friend who you always go to and from school with? Isn't he planning to learn to drive with you?"

Li Mu slapped his forehead, looking annoyed, "Oh, I really prioritize women over friends."

He then didn't even notice Su Yingxue's reddening face and took out his phone to call Zhao Kang.

No one answered.

What the hell?

Li Mu tried again, but still no answer. Frustrated, he sent a text message: "I'm at the Jinan Driving School registration point. Come over and register as soon as you see this. If you can't make it, send me your ID number, and I'll register for you."

Seeing Li Mu buy a phone, Su Yingxue said with a hint of dissatisfaction, "I already left my phone number on QQ. Why didn't you tell me your number when you bought a phone?"

Li Mu quickly smiled apologetically, "I forgot, I just bought it and haven't gotten used to it yet."

He handed his phone to Su Yingxue, "Call your phone, and we'll both save each other's numbers."

While Li Mu and Su Yingxue were chatting, many of the young men in the queue were secretly eyeing Su Yingxue, their eyes full of anticipation, hoping to be in the same class as such a goddess.

Just as Li Mu and Su Yingxue had exchanged phone numbers, a guy with a 70-30 hairstyle suddenly stepped out of the queue and walked straight toward Li Mu.

He had been observing Su Yingxue for a long time. When he saw Li Mu talking to her, he was surprised. After watching Li Mu for a while, he decided to take action.

"Hey, Chen Mu!" the 70-30 guy called out enthusiastically, walking up to Li Mu and putting his arm around his neck, pretending to be very familiar, "I almost didn't recognize you with that new hairstyle!"

Li Mu frowned. The guy looked familiar, especially with that 70-30 hairstyle, which reminded him of the traitors in war dramas. However, he couldn't immediately remember who he was. Moreover, they weren't very familiar, or he wouldn't have called him by the wrong name.

The 70-30 guy had a similar feeling. He also found Li Mu very familiar and only vaguely remembered that he was the son of a worker from the Xiling Coal Mine, whose name ended in "Mu." His intuition led him to call him "Chen Mu."

The 70-30 guy tried to get closer, but when Li Mu didn't respond, he became angry. He glanced at Su Yingxue, who was frowning, and quickly said to Li Mu, "You, we've been friends since childhood. You pretend not to know me outside the neighborhood, that's not right! I, Guo Yuhang, have always considered you a good brother!"

Oh, Guo Yuhang.

Li Mu remembered.

The notorious second-generation rich kid from Xiling Coal Mine.

His father, Guo Lin, was the mine manager of Xiling Coal Mine. Although they had lived in the same neighborhood for over a decade, Li Mu had little contact with him in his previous life. He had only heard many of the workers' children in Xiling Coal Mine curse him behind his back. Guo Yuhang was arrogant and condescending, ignoring even the adults in the neighborhood who greeted him warmly.

In Li Mu's memory, Guo Lin was a typical old bureaucrat in a state-owned enterprise, having held the position of mine manager for nearly ten years. The internal rumors about his corruption in Xiling Coal Mine alone amounted to millions, and some even said he had embezzled over a hundred million. However, even after the mine's production declined, it eventually went bankrupt, and he was never caught. He was transferred to the mining group and stayed there until retirement.

Guo Yuhang, Guo Lin's only son, was pampered from a young age. He didn't do anything productive in middle school and spent his days hanging out outside. His only two skills were spending money and chasing women. He loved flirting with young girls and often got into trouble, which his father would resolve with money. It was said that he didn't even go to high school, and his father paid for him to be listed at No. 5 High School to get a high school diploma. Later, he was sent to Yanjing to attend a mediocre university.

Speaking of Guo Yuhang, after 2010, he became a billionaire. The reason was simple: starting from 2001, his father bought him over a dozen properties in Yanjing. The value of real estate in Yanjing increased like a rocket, and this second-generation rich kid, who only knew how to eat, drink, and play, ended up a big winner in life. Li Mu, who was also a migrant in Yanjing, had once sighed at the disparity in life when he heard about this.

Knowing what kind of person Guo Yuhang was, Li Mu had no interest in him at all. He could see through his motives for approaching him, which were simply to use him to get closer to Su Yingxue.

Li Mu smiled slightly, "You must have the wrong person. I don't know you, and my name is Li Mu, not Chen Mu."
