Slap!
The crisp sound made everyone who heard it feel a twinge of pain in their teeth. In the private room, both the waiters and Tang Ran's parents were stunned, none of them had expected Zhou Ming to act so decisively, and with such a heavy slap.
Wei Hua was completely dazed by Zhou Ming's blow. He stood there, staring blankly at Zhou Ming, seemingly not quite understanding what had happened. However, Zhou Ming didn't care about his feelings at all and said to him, "Hey! I called you here today not to listen to your barking and howling. You hit my Ranran today, and this slap is for her. But you still need to apologize to her."
If Zhou Ming's action of hitting Wei Hua was surprising, then his words were even more shocking.
Tang Jun and Lin Weixiu looked at Zhou Ming with incredulous eyes. Although they also knew that Tang Ran had been hit by Wei Hua, due to Wei Hua's family background and being a local in Nanjiang, they had initially thought of making a match with the Wei family. They even made Tang Ran apologize to Wei Hua and had forgotten about the incident amidst the excitement of dining at such a luxurious hotel. They never expected that Zhou Ming would still remember and even call Wei Hua to apologize to Tang Ran. If that were true, then Zhou Ming was truly very good to their daughter!
But Wei Hua didn't hear a word. He only felt a burning pain on his face. It was only then that he suddenly reacted, covering his face and pointing at Zhou Ming, saying, "You dare to hit me? You bastard, you actually dare to hit me? Even my father has never hit me, and you dare to hit me? I'll kill you!"
As Wei Hua lunged at Zhou Ming, Zhou Ming was already prepared. He kicked Wei Hua to the ground. Wei Hua struggled to get up, but Zhou Ming quickly picked up a cup from the table, smashed it on the edge, and pointed the sharp end at Wei Hua, saying, "Try moving again, you bastard."
"Come on, stab me! If you have the guts, stab me!" Wei Hua shouted at Zhou Ming, but his body didn't dare to move.
At this moment, the waiter in the private room regained his senses and called for security. The hotel security rushed in and quickly stood in front of Wei Hua, saying to Zhou Ming, "Sir, please calm down. Whatever happens, we can always talk it out."
Tang Ran also came to Zhou Ming's side, her voice trembling as she pleaded, "Brother Ming, don't be impulsive! If you really hurt him, you'll end up in jail!"
Tang Ran's parents, Tang Jun and Lin Weixiu, also tried to persuade Zhou Ming, "Yes, Zhou Ming, you're a big boss in Gangcheng, don't be so impulsive."
"Ranran, don't worry, I'm very calm. It's not worth going to jail for such an idiot," Zhou Ming smiled at Tang Ran and then handed the broken glass cup to the hotel security.
Wei Hua finally realized that Zhou Ming was just scaring him. He immediately got up, hiding behind the hotel security, and threatened Zhou Ming, "Zhou Ming, you wait and see, I'll make you understand that this is Nanjiang, not a place for you to act recklessly!"
Zhou Ming ignored him and said through the security, "Hey, I suggest you apologize to Ranran now, or it won't be so easy later."
"You're full of shit!" Wei Hua shouted, "Wait until I come back, I'll make you kneel and call me grandpa!"
Zhou Ming was about to say something, but saw that Wei Hua had already run out of the private room. He shook his head and said, "What a coward."
Then Zhou Ming turned to Tang Ran and said, "Ranran, it's a good thing you didn't talk to him, or he might have really hurt you."
"Brother Ming, you still have the heart to joke at a time like this. I was so worried, afraid that if you got impulsive, it would be impossible to fix!" Tang Ran cried.
Zhou Ming patted Tang Ran's head and said, "Don't worry, your Brother Ming isn't that impulsive. And that guy won't get away. Ranran, do you believe that he'll come back to apologize within an hour?"
Tang Ran nodded vigorously, "I believe you, Brother Ming, I believe whatever you say."
"Naive girl."
Zhou Ming playfully pinched Tang Ran's nose and then asked the hotel waiter to clean the private room, and invited Tang Ran's parents to sit down.
Tang Ran's parents exchanged glances. Finally, Lin Weixiu cautiously said to Zhou Ming, "Zhou Ming, are we still going to eat here? I think Wei Hua seems a bit petty, and he's a local in Nanjiang. Why don't we skip this meal?"
Zhou Ming, of course, understood Lin Weixiu's concern, which was simply the fear that Wei Hua would come back to cause trouble. Zhou Ming said to her, "Auntie, don't worry, nothing will happen. And Wei Hua hasn't apologized to Ranran yet, I need to wait for him here."
Will Wei Hua come back to apologize? You must be living in a dream.
This was the first reaction of Tang Ran's parents and the private room waiter. However, given Zhou Ming's status, they didn't dare to say anything. For safety, Tang Ran's parents gave her a look, wanting her to help persuade Zhou Ming, but to their frustration, Tang Ran really trusted Zhou Ming and didn't think his words were just empty promises.
Time ticked by, and Zhou Ming, Tang Ran, and her parents continued to eat in the private room. Tang Ran's parents were on edge, feeling that Wei Hua could return at any moment.
Finally, after about fifteen minutes, the door to the private room opened, and Wei Hua walked in.
Seeing their fears come true, Tang Ran's parents immediately stood up and said to Wei Hua, "Wei Hua, what do you want? This is a high-end hotel, don't cause trouble here. We've already called the police."
The private room waiter also felt a headache seeing Wei Hua return. He silently blamed Zhou Ming for his showboating and the lack of foresight of the hotel security, who didn't stop Wei Hua from coming back. The waiter slowly retreated, thinking about whether to slip out and call the security to control the situation.
Compared to their worries, Zhou Ming was very calm as he turned around and said, "What? Come to apologize?"
Hearing Zhou Ming's words, Wei Hua's face darkened, and Tang Ran's parents and the private room waiter held their breath. However, the feared scenario didn't materialize. Wei Hua didn't rush at Zhou Ming like a mad dog, and there was no one behind him. What happened next was beyond their imagination.
Wei Hua took two steps forward and bowed deeply to Zhou Ming, saying, "Mr. Zhou, I'm sorry."
This sudden turn of events left everyone in the private room frozen in shock. Tang Ran's parents and the private room waiter stared with wide eyes, their faces full of disbelief. For them, this scene was beyond their comprehension.
Zhou Ming looked at Wei Hua and said, "What did I say earlier? If you come back, I won't be so lenient."
Zhou Ming paused and then continued, "Your father should be here too, right? Uncle Wei, come out and talk."
Zhou Ming called out loudly, and soon a middle-aged, overweight man walked in. This was Wei Hua's father.
He smiled apologetically and walked to Wei Hua's side, saying to Zhou Ming, "Mr. Zhou, I'm very sorry. Wei Hua is usually spoiled by his mother and acts without restraint. Please forgive him, Mr. Zhou."
Facing Wei Hua's father's apology, Zhou Ming didn't rush to speak, just looking at him calmly.
Seeing Zhou Ming's reaction, Wei Hua's father was taken aback, then gritted his teeth and kicked Wei Hua to the ground. He grabbed Wei Hua's hair and slapped him, then said to Tang Ran, "Are you Ranran? I heard that this little brute hit you today. I apologize on his behalf. If you're still angry, you can hit him back."
Tang Ran didn't speak, just looking at Zhou Ming, indicating that he should decide.
Wei Hua's father turned back to Zhou Ming, "Mr. Zhou, Wei Hua has admitted his mistake and knows he was wrong. How can he make it up to you?"
Zhou Ming smiled and said, "Uncle Wei, you're asking the wrong person. I have no grudge against Wei Hua, and I don't mean to make things difficult for you. He just lost his temper and hit Ranran. I understand that young people can be impulsive. So, whatever he did to Ranran, have him do it to himself, and then apologize to her. What do you think?"
Wei Hua's father nodded hurriedly and pulled Wei Hua up, saying, "Didn't you hear? Go and apologize to Ranran!"
He pushed Wei Hua in front of Tang Ran. Wei Hua lowered his head, too ashamed to look at Tang Ran, and started slapping himself, saying, "Ranran, I'm sorry, it's all my fault. I'm a bastard. I shouldn't have upset you or hit you. Please don't hold it against me, just treat me like a fart and let me go, okay?"
Tang Ran stared at Wei Hua with her big, round eyes, not saying a word for a while. Zhou Ming reminded her, "Ranran, someone is apologizing to you, at least give a response."
Tang Ran said, "I forgive you," in a completely indifferent tone.
Her parents were both amused and exasperated. They knew their daughter was a bit naive, but her behavior at this moment was clearly making Wei Hua uncomfortable. Didn't they see that Wei Hua was almost on the verge of spitting blood?
Zhou Ming, however, found Tang Ran increasingly adorable. He turned to Wei Hua's father and said, "Uncle Wei, I believe Wei Hua has learned his lesson and will be more cautious in the future."
Wei Hua's father nodded with a smile, "That's for sure. I'll make sure to discipline him better at home."
He paused and then asked, "Mr. Zhou, what about Director Yang?"
Zhou Ming raised an eyebrow, "Uncle Wei, some things might just be misunderstandings. Once they're cleared up, everything will be fine."
Wei Hua's father nodded, "Mr. Zhou, you're right. Once things are cleared up, everything will be fine. I won't disturb your meal. I'll leave now, sorry for the trouble."
