In the auditorium of Rongcheng No.1 High School, the place was bustling with people, a sea of voices.

It was May 2010, and the senior students of the 2010 class were about to graduate in a month.

Before graduation, this was their last chance to perform for the entire school.

Over a thousand people from the school had gathered, including students from the first and second grades.

Li Chencan was tuning his guitar. In his previous life, he had performed on the streets and participated in several talent shows, so playing and singing with a guitar was no problem. Moreover, in this life, Li Chencan's memory was incredibly strong. Even the guitar tabs he had only glanced at in his past life were now etched in his mind as if carved with a knife. His control over the guitar had also significantly improved, and his voice was clearer than ever.

"Li Chencan, what are you thinking?" A fat boy wobbled over, his face filled with anxiety. "Li Dong has been plotting to make you look bad in front of the whole school. Why did you agree to sing for him?"

This fat boy was Li Chencan's neighbor and childhood friend, Zhao Yongkang. When he heard that Li Chencan had agreed to Li Dong's invitation to perform on stage, he was extremely worried. In the past, Li Chencan wouldn't have been afraid of Li Dong, but now? His voice... had long been ruined beyond recognition.

"Do you know? Today, the school's arts department arranged this graduation ceremony. The head of the arts department is a close friend of Li Dong. They deliberately scheduled your performance right after his. Li Dong even found a lyricist to write a song specifically for him, just to embarrass you!" Zhao Yongkang was deeply distressed.

"Oh, I see." Li Chencan nodded, showing gratitude to those who cared for him. "Old Zhao, thanks for coming to warn me, but I have my own plans."

"What plans could you have?" Zhao Yongkang sighed, holding his forehead. "Forget it, forget it, I can't control you."

...

After a few dance and song performances, Li Dong took the stage.

"Li Dong! Li Dong! Li Dong!" Cheers and applause filled the air, all for Li Dong. He was the school's "little song god," and whenever he performed, the students' cheers were always deafening.

Li Dong raised his hands to calm the crowd. Once the cheers and applause subsided, he said with pride and confidence, "Today, we face graduation. Thinking about these three years, the passage of time, and the bittersweet memories, I feel a mix of sadness and joy. A famous lyricist, Han Anran, wrote a song for me. Today, I will dedicate this song to everyone. It's called 'My Classmates, My Years.'"

"Great! Wonderful!"

The audience erupted in cheers and applause.

The anticipation for Li Dong was evident.

Amidst the cheers, Li Dong played and sang "My Classmates, My Years" beautifully. Although Han Anran was not a well-known songwriter, he was still a professional, and the song indeed moved many people. When the song ended, the audience erupted in thunderous applause.

His performance was a huge success.

Li Dong looked smug. In the song, he had specifically asked Han Anran to include some vague feelings for a female classmate, which were, of course, for Ye Huanxue.

He glanced at Ye Huanxue and then cast a sidelong glance at Li Chencan, who was tuning his guitar backstage, sneering inwardly—do you really think you can sing a song with that broken voice?

"Let me announce the next act..." Li Dong said to the audience. "The next performer is my classmate, Li Chencan..."

"Li Chencan..." Many people's eyes lit up, but then they felt a bit disappointed. The former Li Chencan was one of the top ten singers in the school, known as one of the 'Two Lis' alongside Li Dong. However, in recent months, everyone knew that Li Chencan's voice had been ruined, making his singing unbearable. Today, Li Dong's actions might be a way to embarrass Li Chencan, but who could blame him for not being able to sing well anymore?

Ye Huanxue felt angry at Li Dong's arrogance and deeply worried. Zhao Yongkang looked displeased, wishing he could punch the arrogant guy. Li Chencan's classmates were either worried or looking forward to his downfall...

In short, everyone knew that Li Chencan was in for a rough night.

Li Chencan slowly walked out with his guitar, wearing a simple plaid shirt and jeans. His well-proportioned figure and clear eyes made many people feel sorry for him—a talented student who had somehow lost his ability to sing and whose grades had plummeted.

Tonight, he would be humiliated by Li Dong...

Not only students but also some teachers attended the graduation ceremony.

Music teacher Xue Feiyang sat on a chair, watching this once spirited student who now had a broken voice and was about to be humiliated by Li Dong, whom he had never particularly liked. He felt very uncomfortable.

Li Chencan walked to the front of the stage, bowed to the audience, and smiled. "Farewells are always bittersweet. I will perform an original song for everyone."

"What?!"

The entire audience was stunned by Li Chencan's words!

"An original song?"

"Is Li Chencan out of his mind?"

Everyone was shocked. Did he think writing a song was that easy?

Zhao Yongkang wished he could drag Li Chencan off the stage to save him from embarrassment. Li Dong, after a moment of surprise, couldn't help but laugh out loud, his laughter filled with sarcasm and triumph. He couldn't believe Li Chencan had offered his face to be slapped. What a fool.

Xue Feiyang also frowned. The former Li Chencan wasn't this self-important. Why would he think he could write a song? Writing a song wasn't easy; it required deep musical skills, and both the melody and lyrics needed to be carefully crafted. Otherwise, it would just be a laughingstock.

How could he have the time and ability to write an original song?

After the initial shock subsided, Li Chencan smiled and said into the microphone, "The original song I will perform is called 'My Deskmate.'"

As soon as he said this, everyone knew he was serious and waited to see Li Chencan's humiliation. Li Dong chuckled, but Ye Huanxue's face showed a mix of surprise and warmth—although Li Chencan might be embarrassed tonight, he was indeed keeping his promise to sing a song for her.

The clear guitar melody began, and the audience, still waiting for Li Chencan's downfall, was surprised. The melody was beautiful and somewhat melancholic. Could this really be an original song he was confident about?

As the first verse began, everyone was stunned by the clear and sweet voice that emerged from Li Chencan:

"Will you remember tomorrow

The diary you wrote yesterday?

Will you still think of

The girl who used to cry the most?

The teachers can't remember

The you who couldn't answer questions.

I only stumbled upon your photo

And remembered my deskmate."

The first verse ended, and everyone was speechless.

Ye Huanxue was both surprised and delighted. The audience was captivated by the beautiful melody, lyrics, and singing. Zhao Yongkang suddenly realized that Li Chencan's voice had not only recovered but was even better.

Li Dong was devastated—how was this possible? How could he sing so well? And was this really his original song? Why was it so beautiful, so melancholic, so moving?

Oh God, what was happening to the world?!
