Chen Fan frowned and took out his phone from his pocket.
"Xiao Qi?"
Seeing this name, he suddenly remembered that he had agreed to meet the old man in the Tang costume to treat his injuries tonight. However, after being interrupted by Yang Chao and others, and then by Zhou Tianhao, he almost forgot about it.
Chen Fan thought for a moment and decided to answer the call, after all, killing someone could wait.
"Hello, is this Mr. Chen? This is Xiao Qi. I'm already at the entrance of Lakeview Community."
A respectful voice came from the phone.
Since Xiao Qi had seen Chen Fan's incredible skills, he had held him in the highest regard. As a soldier, he respected strength and power the most.
"Uh, I'm not at Lakeview Community." Chen Fan felt a bit embarrassed, as he had forgotten about the promise he made to someone else.
"Oh, where are you? Is there something wrong?" Xiao Qi asked hesitantly, clearly afraid of asking too much and upsetting him.
"I'm in the new district. I ran into a bit of trouble." Chen Fan glanced at Zhou Tianhao, who was sitting calmly and watching him make the call, showing no intention of stopping him.
"You ran into trouble? Can you tell me more about it?" Xiao Qi asked eagerly.
He paused, clearly afraid that Chen Fan might misunderstand him, and quickly explained, "I'm worried about delaying the old man's treatment. To be honest, although I'm just the bodyguard for the old man, I can still handle some minor issues in Chuzhou."
"It's nothing serious. A friend and I had a conflict with someone called Brother Hao at the Royal Entertainment KTV." Chen Fan didn't have much confidence that Xiao Qi could resolve the trouble. After all, although the old man in the Tang costume seemed to be someone important, Xiao Qi was just a bodyguard. How much influence could he have? Still, he patiently explained.
As soon as he finished speaking, he heard Xiao Qi's surprised voice, "Brother Hao? Zhou Tianhao?"
"Right, do you know him?" This time, it was Chen Fan's turn to be surprised.
"Royal Entertainment KTV? I'll be there in ten minutes." Xiao Qi said urgently, "Tell Zhou Tianhao to wait, I'm coming right away."
Chen Fan hung up the phone, looking puzzled.
From Xiao Qi's words, it seemed he knew Zhou Tianhao, and their relationship was not ordinary.
Should he still kill him now, or wait for Xiao Qi to arrive?
Zhou Tianhao watched him make the call without stopping him. When he saw Chen Fan hang up, he crossed his legs and said smugly,
"So, you called for backup?"
"Go ahead, I won't stop you. Call all the connections you can, and see who in Chuzhou will stand up for you."
At this point, Sister Hong also recovered and put on a smiling face, flattering him, "Oh, who in Chuzhou doesn't know that Brother Hao has the strongest connections? Who would stand up for this kid over such a trivial matter?"
She had been with Zhou Tianhao the longest and knew how powerful his backing was, a big shot not only in Chuzhou but also in Jiangbei.
The woman in the white cheongsam watched the two men silently, a flash of resentment in her eyes.
Unlike Sister Hong, she had been half-forced into Zhou Tianhao's hands and had no choice but to follow him. So when she saw Chen Fan beating up his men, she felt a sense of satisfaction.
Thinking about this, she looked at Chen Fan with concern. She knew how terrifying Zhou Tianhao was. Although this young man was very capable, she didn't think he could stand up to Zhou Tianhao.
"Hmm, my friend said he'll be here in ten minutes. Until then, you wait," Chen Fan thought for a moment and decided to repeat the message verbatim.
If Xiao Qi could resolve the issue, that would be good. After all, he had just come back to life and hadn't even enjoyed modern life yet. If he killed someone, things would get out of hand.
"Wait for me?" Zhou Tianhao seemed to hear something unbelievable and nodded exaggeratedly, "Alright, I'll wait. Ten minutes, I'll only wait ten minutes."
"I want to see who in Chuzhou is so fearless as to dare to challenge me."
The hall fell silent for a moment, with only the groans of the injured men on the ground breaking the silence.
They waited. Chen Fan knew that Zhou Tianhao's current silence was just a prelude to an explosion.
Before the ten minutes were up, there was a commotion at the entrance of the hall.
Everyone turned to look and saw a man with a crew cut, wearing a camouflage shirt and pants, push the door open.
He glanced at the injured men on the ground, his expression unchanged, and hurriedly walked up to Chen Fan, bowing respectfully and asking,
"Mr. Chen, are you alright? Did they hurt you?"
"How could they hurt me?" Chen Fan smiled and shook his head.
"True, with your skills, even ten times as many wouldn't be a match for you. I was just worried." The man also smiled, then suddenly turned and shouted, "Zhou Tianhao! Who gave you the nerve to lay a hand on Mr. Chen!"
Zhou Tianhao's face changed dramatically when the man entered. Now, hearing his shout, he jumped up from the sofa, sweating profusely, "Brother Qi, why are you here?"
This man was none other than 'Xiao Qi,' the bodyguard of Old Wei.
Xiao Qi sneered, "If I hadn't come, I wouldn't have known that you almost hit a friend of the old man."
"You mean he's a friend of the old man?" Zhou Tianhao looked at Chen Fan in disbelief.
In his mind, the old man was in his eighties. His friends were all people of high status, close to old age. How could this kid, who was only sixteen or seventeen, be a friend of the old man?
"The old man personally sent me in his official car to invite Mr. Chen to a banquet. The car is still parked downstairs," Xiao Qi said coldly, "Do you think I'm lying?"
"No, no," Zhou Tianhao broke out in a cold sweat. He knew that the old man's official car, though just an Audi A6, was provided by the state and rarely used except for very important matters. As the old man's personal bodyguard, Xiao Qi driving the official car to invite someone was a level of treatment that even the old man's sons didn't enjoy.
Realizing this, he finally understood the gravity of the situation and said to Chen Fan with great trepidation,
"I didn't know you were a guest of the old man. I was mistaken, please don't take it to heart."
Everyone in the hall was stunned, watching this powerful figure in Chuzhou bow and apologize to a sixteen or seventeen-year-old boy, finding it absurd.
Could this kid have some incredible background? Otherwise, why would Brother Hao be so scared?
Even the son of the mayor wouldn't make Brother Hao bow so low. Could his background be even more powerful? From the provincial government or the military?
Seeing Xiao Qi's camouflage uniform, everyone fell silent, knowing that involving the military was serious.
Only Sister Hong shivered, feeling a deep fear.
She had just been thinking about Zhou Tianhao's backing, but now the person who came was the very backing of Zhou Tianhao.
"This is bad. The person who came isn't Third Uncle, but someone even more powerful than Third Uncle, Old Wei. This kid is actually someone from Old Wei's circle?"
Chen Fan frowned, seeing the once arrogant figure now humbly apologizing, realizing he had underestimated the old man in the Tang costume. His status was likely even higher than he had imagined.
"Mr. Chen, how should we resolve this?" Xiao Qi asked cautiously.
He had actually scolded Zhou Tianhao to protect him. If he really wanted to deal with Zhou Tianhao, he could have done so quietly and then used his connections to crush him. But since they were almost family, he couldn't sentence Zhou Tianhao to death over a minor issue.
Chen Fan clearly understood his intentions and thought for a moment, "Since you know him, let's just drop it."
To him, Zhou Tianhao hadn't offended him much, and he had already beaten up a dozen of his men.
He turned to Zhou Tianhao, who looked relieved, and said, "Brother Hao, right? Tonight's incident was a misunderstanding. Let's call it quits. I don't want you to harass those three girls again. If you have any grievances, you can come at me. I'm always ready."
"I wouldn't dare, I wouldn't dare," Zhou Tianhao said, sweating profusely, and apologized repeatedly.
After Chen Fan and Xiao Qi left, he finally let out a long sigh and straightened up.
The boss Zhang, who had been too afraid to speak, finally gathered the courage to ask, "Brother Hao, what's going on?"
Zhou Tianhao smiled bitterly and shook his head, "Boss Zhang, you've seen my embarrassment. I've had a bad day today."
Boss Zhang frowned, "What's the kid's background? Why are you so scared? Is he from the city government?"
Zhou Tianhao didn't answer, looking around.
Sister Hong understood his meaning and quickly had the irrelevant people leave, ordered his men to take the injured to the hospital, and instructed them not to say a word to anyone, threatening to kill anyone who leaked information.
In the end, only Brother Hao, Boss Zhang, Sister Hong, and the woman in the white cheongsam were left in the grand hall.
Zhou Tianhao sat on the sofa, drinking the wine poured by Sister Hong, and slowly said, "I don't know the kid's background, but the person behind him is truly powerful, the backing of my own backing."
"Oh, which family? Can you tell us?" Boss Zhang asked cautiously.
Zhou Tianhao pondered for a moment and said two words, "Wei family."
"Wei family?" Boss Zhang repeated, his face changing as he seemed to realize something.
"Jiangbei Wei family?"
"Exactly." Zhou Tianhao nodded, smiling bitterly. "The Qi brother who just came is the personal bodyguard of Old Wei, someone I rarely see."
Boss Zhang felt a chill run down his spine, sobering up from the alcohol.
The Jiangbei Wei family, a well-known family in Jiangsu Province, with deep roots in the cities north of the Yangtze River. He was just a small coal mine owner in Shanxi Province, how could he provoke such a powerful family with connections in both politics and the military?
When Chen Fan caused trouble and even Xiao Qi appeared, he was surprised but not afraid. After all, his business was in Shanxi Province, and if he couldn't handle it, he could always leave.
But hearing the name of the Jiangbei Wei family, he couldn't sit still. Especially the name of Old Wei, which he had heard of even in Shanxi.
With Old Wei's status, even if he wasn't in Shanxi, a simple call would have many people in Shanxi willing to do him a favor. Dealing with a coal mine owner would be easy.
"This is really bad," he muttered.
