The arrangements for Old Master Chu's funeral were all handled by the Wan family, who set up a memorial hall at home.
Before this, the Sun family had shamelessly come to the door, saying all sorts of things, their calculating eyes not escaping Yunyi's notice.
She was not the original owner and would not indulge them.
After handling Old Master Chu's funeral, Hua Wanqing led the Gu family to accompany Yunyi back to the Chu residence.
After a few pleasantries, they got straight to the point.
Hua Wanqing took out a leather bag from his bag: "I know that no matter what I say, it won't change what has already happened. This is a small token of our Hua family's sincerity. Please accept it.
Rest assured, if you ever need our Hua family's help in the future, we will do everything in our power to assist you."
He added, "Of course, except for anything illegal."
Next, Gu Peiyan also took out a leather bag, looking remorseful: "I am truly sorry. Because of our Gu family, Old Master Chu suffered unjustly. Please accept this."
He placed the bag on the table and handed a piece of paper to Yunyi: "This has the contact information of our Gu family members in various places. You can contact them if you need anything."
Yunyi took the paper and glanced at the leather bag on the table: "My grandfather did indeed suffer unjustly, but there's a head for every grievance, a debtor for every debt. Please take your things back."
They tried to persuade her further, but Yunyi stopped them: "I just want to ask one thing: who is the person behind the harm to my grandfather?"
Hua Wanqing and Gu Peiyan exchanged a look. They had not intended to tell Yunyi, considering her young age, but they felt she had the right to know and should be cautious in the future.
After all, that person had no limits.
Gu Peiyan said solemnly: "It's the Shen family from Jing City. Their head is Shen Chongyang, and they have a deep grudge against our Gu family."
Yunyi briefly learned about the Shen family from Gu Peiyan, a cold light flashing in her eyes: "I will be going to the countryside in a few days. Please handle the Shen family for me, and if you have any news, please let me know."
Upon hearing she was going to the countryside, both Hua Wanqing and Gu Peiyan were surprised.
Hua Wanqing frowned: "According to the policy, you don't need to go to the countryside. Old Master Chu even said you were about to start work at the hospital. Why are you going to the countryside now?"
Yunyi had not intended to hide this from them, to prevent anyone from taking advantage of her absence, especially the Sun family, whose shamelessness she knew all too well.
She briefly explained the situation, and Hua Wanqing looked at Yunyi with a complex expression.
Fortunately, the young girl had come to her senses in time, not being completely foolish, and knowing when to turn back. He finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Thinking of what the original owner had heard from Sun Ruiming and Su Aiying, Yunyi narrowed her eyes, determined not to be outsmarted: "Uncle Hua, there's one more thing I need your help with."
Hua Wanqing nodded slightly: "Go ahead."
Yunyi cleared her throat: "There's no room for negotiation about going to the countryside, but I would like you to change my destination to Northeast China."
Hua Wanqing's brows furrowed upon hearing this: "Northeast China is too cold. How can a young girl like you endure it?"
Yunyi thought differently: "In Northeast China, we can hibernate through winter, reducing the workload for a few months. Compared to other places, it's relatively easier."
Seeing that Yunyi was determined, Hua Wanqing agreed: "Alright, I'll help you with this."
Now, Chu Yunyi was someone the Hua and Gu families needed to protect, and they would not let her be manipulated so easily.
