Hao Ren didn't know what kind of mood he was in when he was welcomed into the house by Vivian. He sat down on the sofa in the center of the living room and saw the two abnormal beings standing in front of him like students who had made a mistake. Vivian's face was awkward, while Lily's face, besides being awkward, also had a hint of embarrassment: "Landlord, I'm sorry. That winged guy suddenly flew back, and I was a bit surprised, so I forgot to call you..."

"Roll" was rubbing against Hao Ren's feet without a care in the world. This shameless creature was the most comfortable member of the group, completely unaware of what had happened in the past few hours. Now, it was just rubbing against its owner's pant leg while purring.

Hao Ren waved his hand, and the two female superheroes sat down in front of him. This scene suddenly gave Hao Ren a sense of pride: although his life was a mess, his mind was a fog, and his future was uncertain, at least at this moment, he looked quite impressive. After all, legendary creatures like werewolves and vampires were respectfully standing before him... However, Hao Ren only felt this way in his heart. He knew that Lily and Vivian were just showing normal politeness and a bit of apology, but their species made him feel a bit lost.

"What happened this afternoon? Why did you suddenly fly out?" Hao Ren thought about the "job" he had just taken on and felt it was his duty to understand the actions of these abnormal beings in his home. This way, even if something unexpected happened, he would have a way to report back to Raven 12345.

As an ordinary person, Hao Ren knew exactly how much power he had. He knew that it was impossible for him to control a werewolf and a vampire on his own for a long time. He had been struggling with how to deal with his future life, but now that a woman claiming to be a goddess had announced that "world peace is the responsibility of the gods," Hao Ren naturally had to treat her as a strong support.

Of course, he also knew that Vivian might not trust him, a human who had only known her for a little over a day, so he added: "Don't mind, I'm just a bit curious. After all, I'm the landlord, and your species is a bit special... I need to know where you are when I can't find you, right? Of course, if you don't want to say, that's fine."

"It's nothing," Vivian bit her lip, seemingly making a decision, "just a misunderstanding. I thought some very unpleasant guys were tracking us, so I wanted to go find a place far away to deal with them. Later, I realized I was a bit overreacting."

"Unpleasant guys?" Hao Ren glanced at Lily, "Other werewolves?"

He had a pretty good idea of what Vivian meant by "this place isn't safe." It seemed that this vampire had enemies, long-standing enemies.

"Not werewolves," Vivian glanced at Lily with disdain, "werewolves have been fighting us for hundreds of thousands of years, but they've never had the upper hand. Although they are troublesome, they are not a major threat..."

"Talk about your own business, don't drag me into it!" Lily growled threateningly, licking her nails, "If you want to fight, let's find a place with lots of bricks and have a good battle..."

Hao Ren: "...Stop mentioning your embarrassing brick skills, okay? Give the werewolves some face!"

Vivian ignored Lily and explained seriously, "They are demon hunters, or exorcists."

Hao Ren's mind immediately filled with movie scenes, and he became more alert, "Like Van Helsing?"

"Don't joke, that's in the movies," Vivian had no interest in joking, looking worried, "I'm talking about real demon hunters—half-human, half-monster. They are considered monsters by both humans and us 'abnormals.' These demon hunters have been fighting us since the beginning of history, and neither side can completely eliminate the other. At first, they acted alone, but later, they started working with humans through various religious organizations... It's a big problem."

Hao Ren couldn't help but touch the papers in his pocket. He sincerely wanted to ask a question: Raven 12345 and the Xi Ling Empire behind her seemed to want him to take care of the "abnormals" in his home, but the demon hunters sounded like they were fighting to protect humans... Holy crap, the complexity of this situation was too much to think about!

"Landlord? What are you thinking?" Lily's voice brought Hao Ren back from his thoughts, "Are demon hunters really that powerful? Scary?"

Hao Ren decided to ask Raven 12345 the next time he saw her, as he realized that the mess he was in was not only murky but also deep. Looking at Lily's curious face, he asked casually, "You don't know about demon hunters?"

"No, I don't," Lily scratched her head, "I've never met them, but I've seen them in movies."

Vivian sneered, "I don't know how this one grew up. I talked to her just now and found out that she doesn't even know the basics. She doesn't know about demon hunters, the classification of vampires, or even the classification of werewolves, and she doesn't know the historical grudges between humans and abnormals... She's like a blank sheet of paper, and she's only alive today because of sheer luck."

Lily glared at Vivian angrily but said nothing, clearly knowing that what Vivian said was true.

"I really don't know these things, and it's not my fault," Lily mumbled, huddling on the sofa, "I've been with humans since I was born and have lived with them all my life. I've only heard stories about werewolves from humans... I've never met any other abnormals, and I searched everywhere as a child, thinking I was the only werewolf left in the world. Honestly, in recent years, I've only encountered clues related to abnormals, and this winged guy is the first one I've truly interacted with."

Hao Ren and Vivian stared at Lily in disbelief. After a long moment, the vampire girl muttered to herself, "Pathetic, I'll try not to mock you."

Hao Ren looked at Lily curiously, "You've never met other abnormals? Then you and Vivian shouldn't have any grudges, so why are you at odds?"

Lily said confidently, "TV says vampires and werewolves are mortal enemies! I have to live up to my heritage!"

Hao Ren: "..."

Vivian: "..."

"I really regret arguing with this one," Vivian's mouth moved a few times before she finally said, "I've met many stupid werewolves in my life, but this one is the most ridiculous!"

"Cough, anyway, Lily's life story is a special case, let's not discuss this," Hao Ren quickly coughed to smooth things over, but he was also starting to worry about the "demon hunters" Vivian mentioned, "So, did you really just have a misunderstanding this afternoon? Did you sense the presence of demon hunters?"

"Yes, I've been dealing with them for many years, at least a few hundred, so I've almost developed a sixth sense. When demon hunters are nearby, I can feel it," Vivian lowered her eyes, "This afternoon, I felt their presence nearby... But when I followed the scent, I found nothing, not even a trace. So it was probably a mistake. I've made mistakes before, after all, it's just a feeling, and it can be wrong."

Vivian paused, observing Hao Ren's expression, and nodded understandingly, "Don't worry, if there really are demon hunters, I'll leave on my own, taking this ridiculous werewolf with me, so I won't involve you. Although demon hunters claim to protect humans, some of them are extremists and can involve the innocent. In the past hundred years, they've been more restrained, but their nature as mad dogs hasn't changed."

Lily's ears perked up, "You're talking about mad dogs..."

"It's not related to you," Vivian glared at the werewolf, "You're sensitive in irrelevant matters."

Hao Ren just wanted to say: Vivian talks so easily! If they really leave, that five-digit nutty goddess might show up the next day!
