Chapter 9: The First Great Sect of the Evil Path

The Southern Chanbu Continent spans over ten thousand miles from east to west and about seven to eight thousand miles from north to south. It is home to countless famous mountains and great rivers. The northern part is flat and densely populated, with seven countries established there, making it the most prosperous region. The other three sides are blocked by large mountains. Although there are small patches of flat land where people have built cities and established territories, none of these compare in scale to the seven countries in the north.

Among the seven northern countries, Huaxu is the most extensive, with a territory larger than the combined areas of the other six countries. Therefore, the people of the Southern Chanbu Continent consider Huaxu to be the legitimate center, and even cultivators tend to live on the famous mountains and great rivers within Huaxu.

Cheng Mountain is located in Huaxu and is one of the seventeen famous mountains of the country.

Besides the seven major sword cultivator sects, the Southern Chanbu Continent also has three major sects of alchemy, four major families of talismans, and two major ghost lineages.

These sixteen sects are the most elite of the Southern Chanbu Continent, both orthodox and evil. The *Xuanming Nineteen Chapters* is one of the three fundamental texts of the Xuanming Sect, one of the three major alchemy sects. It contains the methods for refining nineteen treasures of enlightenment and the fundamental Daoist technique of the Xuanming Sect, the *Xuanming Tongyou Technique*. This is one of the supreme secrets of the alchemy cultivators, far more valuable than ordinary Daoist texts.

The Xuanming Sect has a thousand-year history and over a thousand disciples, making it much more formidable than the Chicheng Sect. The founder of the Xuanming Sect, Magu Changsheng, is a peer of the ancestor of the Chicheng Sect, Zhu Shang. His magical powers are boundless and profound, making him one of the most prominent figures in the Southern Chanbu Continent. Although Zhu Shang, the founder of the Chicheng Sect, received the true teachings of the Chicheng lineage and established a sect, it still cannot match the deep roots of the thousand-year-old Xuanming Sect. The Chicheng Sect, while ranked among the seven major sword cultivator sects due to Zhu Shang's formidable powers, is only in the middle tier.

The Lingqiao Sect is hailed as the foremost orthodox sect in the world. Below it are the Minghe Sword Sect and the Cuwei Sect. Next in line is the Yinxian Sect, followed by the Chicheng Sect. The Xuanming Sect, however, is the undisputed first evil sect, with power on par with the Lingqiao Sect. Its influence is so great that it strikes fear into the hearts of all. Although Magu Changsheng is not the first among the evil sects, he is certainly among the top three, with a reputation far surpassing that of Zhu Shang.

Recalling these facts, Bai Sheng drew a sharp breath and thought, "So the Five Lusts Venerable is a descendant of the Xuanming Sect, a disciple of the great ancestor Magu Changsheng! No wonder that birdman talks so big, acts so decisively, and is so ruthless. Evil sects like this one are notorious for their wicked deeds, killing as easily as breathing. They should be eradicated, leaving no trace. But I am not yet powerful enough, so I will let this sect live a bit longer. Once I master the invincible sword technique, I will surely bring justice to the world."

Although the Xuanming Sect is renowned, it does not intimidate Bai Sheng. He has a sky-high courage, as evidenced by his solo feat of defeating the World Union and forcing Dugu Qiujue to retreat from the game. He has no regrets about killing the Cuwei Fairy and the Five Lusts Venerable; instead, he is plotting how to wipe out the entire Xuanming Sect to eliminate any future threats.

The Xuanming Sect is famous for refining magical treasures, but it takes at least a few hundred to several thousand years to refine a single treasure. Therefore, Xuanming disciples do not solely focus on seclusion and cultivation like those of the Chicheng Sect. They often go on journeys to collect materials for refining magical treasures once they have gained some cultivation. As their cultivation deepens, their innate magical treasures become more powerful, naturally making them dominant experts in their regions. However, ordinary Xuanming disciples cannot carry a copy of the *Xuanming Nineteen Chapters* with them; they can only glimpse parts of it, and only the true disciples can learn the most powerful techniques.

The Five Lusts Venerable's real name is Ma Wuyin, the direct grandson of the Xuanming Sect's great ancestor, Magu Changsheng. This is why he received such special treatment, being secretly taught this supreme technique by his parents and taking it with him when he left the sect. Due to his noble status, he easily made many connections during his travels. 那枚护身的黑铁环，叫做二相环，是《玄冥策》上防御力最强的法宝。这枚二相环祭炼到最后，还能在其中练就一个小乾坤二相虚实世界，不仅能够护身，还能专门收敌人的飞剑法宝。只是五淫尊者偏爱剑器，所以没有选择二相环作为本命法器，只是当作普通法器来祭炼。由于他的法力不足，未能将二相环祭炼到火候，别说小乾坤二相虚实世界，就连防御的法力都不济事，这才被白胜一剑就破去了二相环，凭空斩杀了肉身。

从《玄冥策》中，白胜得知这二相环总共要分七十二重禁制，每炼成一重禁制，威力就大一倍。只有当此物内七十二重禁制齐全，才能开辟小乾坤二相虚实世界。当七十二重禁制祭炼合一，这二相环才能被称为法宝，现在还只算是一件法宝胚胎。这种尚未炼成的法宝胚胎，也被阎浮提世界的修士称为法器。

五淫尊者的二相环刚刚练就三重禁制，距离功候圆满还差很多火候，就能放出一道二相黑光圈，将二相环化成一圈黑光将自身保护在内。不说小乾坤二相虚实世界，如果此物真个炼成七八重禁制，所化的二相黑光圈就能借力卸力，还能锁拿飞剑法器，有许多神妙的运用。以段珪那口飞剑的品质之差，即使白胜剑术再高，也不那么容易就破去二相环的防御。

白胜的那口飞剑，品质低劣到了极点，内中只蕴含了两重禁制，且与赤城道法并不十分相合，再加上白胜的法力也甚低微，纵然有再绝世的剑术也发挥不出来几分威力。当然，现在则是另外一回事了。

The black iron ring, known as the Two-Phase Ring, is the most powerful defensive magical treasure in the *Xuanming Strategy*. When fully refined, it can create a small Two-Phase World within it, not only for protection but also to capture the enemy's flying swords and magical treasures. However, the Five Lusts Venerable favored sword-type magical treasures, so he did not choose the Two-Phase Ring as his innate magical treasure. Instead, he treated it as an ordinary magical treasure.
