Thank you for the bookmark evaluation.

Today is the day we set out on the quest to slay the Goblin King.

We were supposed to gather at the guild, but I arrived a bit too early.

---

"Mr. Nest, do you have a moment?"

While sitting at the guild's desk as usual, like when I'm treating patients, Asaha came over.

"Yes, what is it?"

"Actually... the king, who usually works in the capital, is currently visiting the guild incognito for an inspection..."

Is this really information I, a commoner, should know?

"The king... I declined to treat him the last time I was called, so it might be awkward to meet him now..."

I could have healed him if I had treated him, but I didn't. I didn't want to draw attention to my recovery magic.

Even after taking precautions to avoid being recognized, I only managed to heal the castle servants when I sneaked into the castle.

I'm pretty sure the Holy Maiden is already...

"That happened, did it? It's a good thing you're going on a quest today, then."

"That's a relief. I wouldn't want to be accused of disrespect the next time we meet..."

"Yes, the current king is known for his wisdom and generosity, and he has the support of the people, so it should be fine."

Is it really okay to feel a bit relieved?

"Actually, I have a favor to ask. Could you have Aura guide the king around the city?"

Indeed, Aura is a former royal and, supposedly, knows proper etiquette...

"Well, that should be fine. But please make sure to get her confirmation first."

"Of course, I will."

---

After a while, the party members gathered, and we set out with Asaha's farewell.

---

"Please take care of us."

As usual, I came to the adventurer's classroom today. I've learned about the characteristics and weaknesses of various monsters, and I remember most of them now.

"Excuse me, is Aura here?"

I turned my head when I heard my name called.

There was Asaha from the guild's reception.

"I'm here."

Since she came all the way from the guild, she must have something to discuss.

"Can I have a moment? It's a bit difficult to talk about here..."

"Sure, let's go."

Asaha told me not to use formal language before I went to the capital, so I'm speaking casually.

---

We moved away from where everyone was and headed to a less crowded area.

"So, what's up? You came all the way here for something, right?"

"Actually, the king is currently visiting the guild incognito to inspect the city, and I wanted to ask if you could be his guide."

"But I'm a slave, is that okay? I was a royal in the past, but..."

"I confirmed with the king, and he said it's fine. Nest got his approval this morning, but he also said to get your confirmation first."

...Nest said he was leaving on a quest this morning, so he must have confirmed it then.

"Well, if that's the case, it's fine. Should I go right away?"

"That's the plan, but I need you to change into formal attire first. It won't be too flashy since it's an incognito visit."

---

After telling Mist, I followed Asaha, who had left the room.

---

After changing into formal attire with Asaha, I arrived at the room where the king was waiting.

I knocked on the door and waited for a response.

"...Yes, come in."

I heard what I assumed was the king's voice. After a moment, Asaha led me into the room.

"I apologize for keeping you waiting. I have brought the person who will guide you."

Asaha glanced at me, signaling that I should introduce myself.

"It's an honor to meet you. I am Aura, and I will be your guide. Although I am a lowly slave, I will do my best to ensure you are not inconvenienced. Please take care of me."

I used formal language, which I haven't used much recently, to introduce myself.

"Yes, I appreciate your help, even if it's for a short time."

Those words shouldn't be directed at a slave like me, but this king seems different from the one I know.

Asaha taught me a bit about formal attire when I changed, and indeed, it's easy to see why he is popular with the people.

---

When we left the guild, the king was wearing a black cloak, but he took it off, saying the city is sensitive to the 'Black Savior' because of Nest.

I thought I saw the king's face darken a bit, but it must be my imagination...
