Chapter 9

Dugu Kang spurred his horse and galloped after the Khitan envoy.

He was going to snatch the bride, a brazen snatch, with no pretense whatsoever.

Having lived among the Jurchen tribes for many years, Dugu Kang had also adopted their customs. In the Jurchen tribes, engagements and marriages were not as verbose as those of the Han people. The Jurchens revered strength and heroes, adhering to the principle that the strong should be respected. The brave warriors in the army always received the affection of beautiful women.

The strong were to be respected, and what they couldn't obtain, they would take by force!

Talking was less effective than taking action, beat them up!

Riding swiftly, the scenery along the road flew past. Dugu Kang advanced quickly, galloping down the path.

Faster, faster, even faster!

Closer!

Closer, right before his eyes!

At this moment, a distant group appeared, the envoy of the Khitans. Among them was the young Khitan prince.

Whoosh!

With a leap, Dugu Kang soared like a great goose, landing on the road and blocking the path of the Khitan entourage.

Wearing a gray fur robe, with messy hair and a bronze-colored complexion, Dugu Kang held a precious sword wrapped in a leather case. Standing there, he resembled a god of war descended upon the earth, born for battle, born for bloodshed.

"Bold, who are you? How dare you block the path of our young prince? Are you not afraid of death?" a retainer shouted, his tone filled with arrogance.

"It's you, the savage!" The young Khitan prince seemed to recognize the figure and laughed. "Savage, are you here to give me a gift?"

Dugu Kang's face was cold, and he said calmly, "I am here to snatch the bride! Yinyin is not your woman, but mine!"

"Snatch the bride!"

The young Khitan prince burst into laughter, his expression full of disdain. "You, a savage, have the right to snatch my woman? Get lost, or I won't hesitate to cut you down!"

"You are no match for me!"

Dugu Kang shook his head, his expression unchanged.

This young Khitan prince had weak blood and insufficient energy, his skills pitifully weak. Dugu Kang could crush him with a single finger.

Such a worm, he was not worth killing.

"What, savage, are you asking for death!"

The young Khitan prince spurred his horse, using the momentum to swing his curved saber, a silver blade of light slicing through the air, aiming to cut Dugu Kang down.

Dugu Kang stood there, seemingly stunned, as if he had been frightened.

The young Khitan prince licked his lips, a sinister look in his eyes, imagining a great head being cut off, blood splattering, forming a beautiful red mist.

"Kill!"

The blade flashed, aiming for Dugu Kang's neck.

Dugu Kang moved, extending his right hand to grab the curved saber.

"Truly asking for death!" The young Khitan prince sneered. "My curved saber, how can it be stopped by mere flesh and blood!"

The curved saber flashed, striking Dugu Kang's palm.

There was no sound of flesh and blood splattering, no pleasure of the blade piercing flesh, no scene of blood flying.

"Clang!"

A clear metallic sound, as if striking metal.

The young Khitan prince's arm went numb, feeling as if it were useless, the curved saber almost slipping from his hand.

Dugu Kang's right hand extended, like a dragon's claw, firmly gripping the blade, preventing it from moving.

"Let go!"

Dugu Kang growled, exerting force with his right arm, pulling it toward his chest.

The young Khitan prince immediately felt a great force, forcing him to let go to avoid being pulled off his horse, the curved saber falling from his hand.

"Damn, who are you?"

The young Khitan prince felt his face burning with shame and hatred.

"Who I am is not important. What's important is that I am here to snatch the bride!" Dugu Kang said. "Yinyin is a great beauty of the Jurchen tribe, how can she marry a waste like you? Want to marry her? Beat me first!"

"Boy, what right do you have to fight me? Attack, kill him!" The young Khitan prince roared in anger.

"Yes, young prince!"

The guards dismounted, drew their curved sabers, surrounded Dugu Kang, and attacked.

"A house not swept cannot sweep the world; a man not strong cannot make the world strong! Yelü Abaoji was once a great hero, but now his descendants are all a bunch of waste! It seems the Khitans are rotten!"

Dugu Kang's tone was somewhat disdainful. His body moved like a floating weed, dodging the long saber, his elbow striking a guard's chest.

"Bang!"

The Khitan guard's chest caved in, blood flowing from his mouth, and he fell to the side.

Dugu Kang moved to the left, his right hand extending, gripping the blade, his arm twisting, the curved saber immediately slipping from the guard's hand.

It seemed to stick to his palm, the curved saber flipping, like a part of his body, slicing into a guard's neck, blood gushing out, and he was dead.

"Kill!"

Dugu Kang felt a fierce battle spirit, his blood boiling, every muscle surging, his energy flowing, his movements agile like a monkey, fierce like a tiger, leaping like a horse, striking like a snake, and pouncing like a bear.

In a moment, he was no longer a man but a beast, his combat skills flowing like instinct.

"Ah!"

"Ouch!"

"Bad, so powerful!"

In less than ten breaths, over thirty guards lay on the ground, either with their necks cut, hearts and lungs struck, temples hit, or groins kicked.

The points of impact were mostly vital, either causing instant death or near death.

No mercy in his strikes, mercy in his strikes!

The essence of martial arts is not in beauty or health, but in combat, each strike lethal, each punch injurious.

The true essence of martial arts is not in the江湖 (jianghu, the world of martial arts), but on the battlefield.

The battlefield created martial arts!

Martial arts exist for the battlefield!

The fierce combat frightened the coachmen, some even hiding under the carriages.

Dugu Kang leaped onto the central carriage.

In that carriage, Yinyin might be sitting, the object of his bride-snatching.

His woman, how could she be touched by outsiders?

No matter if you are a prince or a noble, if you dare to snatch my woman, I will take you down!

His left hand extended, Dugu Kang just lifted the curtain and felt a killing intent. A gleaming dagger, like a venomous snake, lunged at him.

A silver light flashed, directly aiming for Dugu Kang's heart!

"Such speed!"

Dugu Kang was inwardly surprised, his hand turning into a blade, true energy gathering in his palm, making it faster than a blade and harder than steel.

"Clang!"

A clear metallic sound, Dugu Kang felt his palm go numb, inwardly marveling at the strength.

At this moment, he focused and saw a woman in a fur coat, holding a dagger, lunging at him.

"Thud!"

"Thud!"

"Thud!"

The dagger flipped, as if part of her hand, launching several powerful attacks in a short time.

This woman was about seventeen or eighteen, with a beautiful face, but a fierce look in her eyes. Her right hand wielded the dagger, her left hand using claw techniques, both hands working in perfect harmony, launching fierce attacks like rain.

"Eagle Claw!"

Dugu Kang's fingers changed, like a great net falling from the sky, his claws moving to counter the onslaught.

Various vicious techniques, like melting snow in the sun, were quickly neutralized.

Suddenly, the woman felt a pressure, fear rising in her heart, her momentum faltering.

In a martial arts duel, momentum is key. Once momentum is lost, more flaws appear in the techniques.

Dugu Kang lunged forward, like a great eagle, the woman's movements becoming even more disordered, her dagger slashing at his neck.

Dugu Kang did not retreat but advanced, his arm extending, accurately grabbing the woman's wrist. She struggled to break free but felt like being held by an iron clamp, unable to move.

"Let go!"

She said, her face slightly flushed. Growing up, this was the first time a man other than her family had held her wrist.

"Let go!"

Dugu Kang showed no mercy, twisting her wrist, causing her dagger to fall.

"Damn!" She swung her left fist, but it was caught, both arms pinned behind her back, unable to move.

"You are too weak!"

Dugu Kang said calmly. This woman's techniques had the elegance of a master, clearly trained by a high-level expert, but her practical combat skills were too weak, easily captured.

"Let me go!" She shouted, how could this person dare to treat her like this.

Her arms pinned, she kicked backward, aiming for Dugu Kang's groin.

Dugu Kang dodged, avoiding the kick, a cold look in his eyes.

"Bone Separation Hand!"

His hand moved, a series of clicks, the woman felt intense pain all over her body, then collapsed, unable to move.

Her right shoulder dislocated, her right elbow dislocated, her right wrist dislocated, then her left arm, followed by her knee and ankle, all dislocated.

Dugu Kang's movements were swift, fluidly dislocating the woman's major joints.

Pain! Pain! Pain!

The woman felt a series of excruciating pains, wanting to faint but unable to.

In Dugu Kang's hands, the Bone Separation Hand was incredibly effective, quickly dislocating her joints, making her unable to move.

"I, Yelü Guyu, will not let you off!"

The woman said hatefully.

Dugu Kang ignored her, got into the carriage, and carried out a young woman. This woman looked pitiful, bound with ropes, a cloth in her mouth, her expression full of委屈 (vexation).

It was Yinyin, forced to marry and taken to the carriage.

Dugu Kang pulled out the cloth, and Yinyin immediately said, "Wood, you finally came to save me!"

"We are going home!" Dugu Kang said.

"Sniff, I have no home. Father sold me to the Khitans, I have no home!" Yinyin sniffled, tears streaming down her face.

"Where I am, that is home!" Dugu Kang said.

Yinyin nodded, her eyes full of tenderness.

Dugu Kang's eyes turned cold, looking at the woman on the ground and the stunned young Khitan prince, and coldly said, "Don't provoke me. Otherwise, this will be your fate!"

He punched the ground, shattering a nearby rock.

Dugu Kang carried Yinyin, turned, and left.
