"Ye!?"
The short and tall figures, along with the other newly appointed apostles, looked at the demon hunter draped in an apostle's cloak with surprise and joy, shouting, "You're out? Did you pass the apostle test so quickly?"
"Yep, I passed smoothly!" The demon hunter smiled and nodded, then looked at the tall figure, "Darlarn, do you still remember the route to the bar you went to last time?"
"Of course!" The tall figure nodded, somewhat puzzled, "Is there something you need?"
"Nothing much, I just feel like having a drink!" The demon hunter said casually, "Of course, after taking care of that waste of space over there! Hey, do we all need to gang up on a waste of space? Leave it to me!"
"Ye, good luck!"
"Take him down, avenge Ava!"
"Ye, take him down, and we'll buy you a drink!"
...
"Are you the leader of these rookies?" Jago's expression returned to its arrogant state, "Hmm, the big rookie?"
"Rookie? Better than a waste of space who can't graduate, right?" Ye Qi's gaze swept past Jago, looking behind him at the previous year's apostles who had been shouting with Jago, "You, all come up!"
Instantly, the arena fell silent, and everyone looked at Ye Qi standing on the stage, their eyes filled with disbelief—Jago and the other previous year's apostles were not the failures Ye Qi described! They were talented and had performed excellently over the year, making them outstanding new apostles! In other words, these people were the elites who had stayed behind to further their training at headquarters!
What does Ye Qi want to do?
Does he want to take on all the elites from the previous year alone?
"Ha ha ha... Rookie, are you crazy? You actually want to challenge all of us?" In the silent arena, Jago burst into unprecedented laughter. After the laughter subsided, he beckoned to those behind him and glared at Ye Qi, "But I'll let you have your wish!"
Including Jago, there were seven elite apostles from the previous year. At Jago's beckoning, they all leaped onto the stage and stood beside him, all seven looking at Ye Qi on the opposite side.
One against seven elite Starlight-level apostles is not impossible; any Moonlight-level apostle would have no problem. But Ye Qi is just a new apostle this year, and if you count carefully, he has only been a demon hunter for half a year.
Can he handle seven elite Starlight-level apostles? All the new apostles looked at the stage with worry. Even the giant, who had always been confident in Ye Qi, was now anxiously glaring.
But no matter how anxious they were, it was useless—the arena's stage, though not as brutal as the life-or-death stage, still had strict, inviolable rules. Since Ye Qi said he would challenge all of them, he had to complete it—whether by defeating them or being defeated by them, no one else could intervene. Otherwise, not only would the intervener lose all honor, but Ye Qi would never be able to hold his head up again.
"C+ level mission: Provocation from the previous year. Defeat all the previous year's apostles on the stage."
C+ level? A bit unexpected!
Glancing at the system's mission prompt, Ye Qi was somewhat surprised—although the randomness of the random missions made it impossible for Ye Qi to figure out their specific patterns, he could still discern some clues—battles! As long as Ye Qi participated in dangerous activities or battles, there was a high chance of triggering a random mission!
Therefore, when he stepped onto the stage, Ye Qi knew there was a high chance of triggering a random mission. But reaching C+ level was somewhat beyond his expectations—his level had increased, and his strength had grown, making E and D level missions no longer a threat to him. Even C- and C level missions were manageable, but C+ level still posed a danger!
But, what does it matter?
Even if he didn't want to admit it, he was one of the new apostles insulted by the other side! And the other side spat on the fallen Ava—someone who had greeted him warmly in the morning and accompanied him to the apostle test. If he pretended nothing happened, he wouldn't be Ye Qi—although demon hunters didn't want to be heroes who were manipulated, this didn't stop him from being a man who protected his own dignity.
The arrogance and taunts of the other side deeply disgusted the demon hunter, and the best way to deal with such people was to use their own methods against them—using an even more arrogant and overbearing attitude to harshly teach them a lesson!
"Are both sides ready?" The giant, temporarily acting as the referee, looked at the demon hunter with concern. After seeing both sides nod, he still fulfilled his duty as a referee, "Begin!"
The seven elite apostles, including Jago, immediately scattered at the giant's command, surrounding the demon hunter from all sides. From the agile and skillful movements among the seven, it was clear they had worked together before.
"Enhance resistance!"
"Mage armor!"
After silently casting the spells on himself, the demon hunter placed one hand on his short knife and closed his eyes—blind fighting techniques had been fully mastered by Ye Qi and integrated into his instincts. At this moment, discarding the visual hindrance and relying on his senses to observe the 360-degree surroundings made blind fighting more suitable for group battles.
"Whoosh! Whoosh!"
The apostles on either side of the demon hunter simultaneously launched their attacks—the flail and mace swung towards the demon hunter. The flail and mace are highly skilled cold weapons; if used well, they can even smash through solid plate armor. However, they are not very effective against the agile and perceptive demon hunter.
With just a simple step forward, the flail and mace grazed the demon hunter's coat and hit the ground. The two apostles who missed their attacks immediately clutched their necks and fell to the ground—the demon hunter hadn't killed them, just used the back of his knife. Even so, the lack of oxygen from the strong impact on their necks rendered them unable to fight.
If possible, the demon hunter didn't want to hold back, but the arena wasn't a life-or-death stage! If he really did that, he would likely be back in the Thorn Tower's prison. Even if he found the true direction for skill training there, the demon hunter, who had just tasted freedom, had no desire to return!
"Use your abilities!"
After losing two members in the first exchange, the previous year's apostles immediately stopped holding back at Jago's shout.
