Chapter 5: The Deal

Ye Qi dialed John's phone, but unfortunately, the receiver only played a message indicating that the other party was powered off.

"Old man, you must be careful!"

Looking at the note, memories of the four years he spent with John flooded back. Ye Qi silently wished John well in his heart. At the same time, he decided to find John after completing the task given by the system.

Afterward, Ye Qi sat on the bed and silently laid out all his weapons and equipment—his M500 revolver; the magic dagger John gave him when he hunted his first blood slave; the holy water he just bought from Old Ward; the spirit realm powder to prevent ghost attacks; and the electromagnetic field detector (EMF) for detecting ghostly beings.

Ye Qi carefully wiped each of these weapons and equipment. This was a habit he developed after being advised by John when he received his first weapon—always keep your weapons in the best condition!

Because you never know what might happen next!

At first, Ye Qi simply followed John's advice, but over time, he found that the cold sense of security from wiping the weapons and equipment made him feel calm and relaxed. Thus, wiping the weapons became an essential part of his routine before resting—reflecting on the gains and losses of the day in a state of calm and relaxation.

After wiping all the weapons and equipment, Ye Qi placed them within easy reach, carefully checked the doors and windows, and set a few small traps. Then, he took off his coat and lay down on the bed.

Amid the groans from the next room, he fell into a deep sleep.

...

As night gradually faded away, so did all the decadence and filth. The men and women who had passed out or were drunk on the streets now regained their senses, dressed neatly, and put on extremely fake smiles, starting a new day.

After a good night's rest, Ye Qi left the temporary hotel with some "night workers." He declined their offer to leave a phone number and a 20% discount, and headed straight for the abandoned factory on Lorard Street—where a drug-dealing gang had set up their base.

These people slept during the day or loitered on the streets, and at night, they did business in several places, including Dad's Bar. They could be considered the most well-informed people in the area, aside from Old Ward. Ye Qi came here to meet with the black market dealer as agreed—the drug-dealing gang was an outer organization of the black market dealer.

"Oh, look who we have here! Get lost, you yellow monkey, this isn't a place for you!" As soon as Ye Qi stepped into the abandoned factory, two small-time thugs surrounded him. One of the white thugs immediately started mocking and shouting at Ye Qi, while the other thugs laughed.

"Shut up! If you don't want me to blow you away, take me to your boss Mori!" Ye Qi, not intending to play around with these low-level thugs, pulled out his M500 and pressed it against the white thug's forehead. The white thug's face turned even paler, and his legs trembled. The other thugs stopped laughing and nervously watched Ye Qi and the gun in his hand.

"Hey, buddy, it's just a toy gun..."

"Bang!"

One of the thugs, a leader, stepped forward, looking at Ye Qi provocatively. However, before he could finish his sentence, Ye Qi fired a shot into the air. The loud bang from the M500 made the leader, who had been full of courage a moment ago, turn pale and shrink back like a chicken.

"Lead the way!"

Ye Qi repeated his demand. This time, it was much more effective. The thugs in front of him ran in a frenzy toward the back of the factory. Ye Qi followed closely behind, entering the factory building.

Contrary to its dilapidated exterior, the factory building was luxuriously decorated with soft wool carpets, crystal chandeliers, and leather sofas. Hampton, the leader of the drug-dealing gang, who was about to engage in some beneficial activities with a blonde girl on a leather sofa, was startled by the sudden intrusion. His previously proud and confident demeanor quickly wilted. Just as he was about to yell at his subordinates for not following orders, he saw Ye Qi with a gun. He immediately pushed the girl away and reached for a gun under the sofa cushion.

However, before he could grab the gun, Ye Qi's cold gun barrel was already pressed against his temple. Hampton's body stiffened, and he didn't dare move. Unlike his subordinates, Hampton had a keen eye and could tell that the M500 was a real gun. Being pointed at with a gun was not a pleasant experience, and Hampton forced a very awkward smile and said, "Hey, friend, don't be hasty! Is there some misunderstanding between us?"

"Misunderstanding? No way! I'm looking for Mori!" Ye Qi lowered the gun and pulled a sofa cushion to sit in front of Hampton.

"You're looking for the boss?"

Hampton was taken aback, then carefully examined Ye Qi from head to toe, and cautiously asked, "Are you Mr. Ye?"

"Yep!"

"Respected Mr. Ye, Hampton is at your service! Please wait a moment!"

Seeing Ye Qi nod, Hampton immediately pushed the half-naked, trembling blonde girl in front of Ye Qi. Despite her exposed state, she obediently crawled to Ye Qi's legs and smiled flatteringly, like a cat.

As for Hampton, he quickly put on a pair of pants and picked up a phone by the sofa, muttering into it.

...

Just as the blonde girl kept rubbing her ample chest against Ye Qi's leg, making his heart race after nearly a month of abstinence, a black extended Rolls-Royce drove straight into the factory. Mori, looking completely refreshed, stepped out of the car with a smile after Hampton opened the door for him.

"Dear Ye, I kept you waiting!"

The black market dealer, who had been disheveled the night before, now wore a neatly pressed suit, with his hair combed meticulously. The cuts from the glass the night before had been carefully treated, and there were no visible wounds.

After the black market dealer got out of the car, two large men stepped out of the Rolls-Royce and stood tightly behind him. Their fierce faces and the bulging suits clearly indicated what they were carrying. Without asking, Ye Qi guessed that these were new bodyguards the black market dealer had hired for unexpected emergencies.

Looking at the black market dealer, Ye Qi kicked the blonde girl away and got straight to the point: "Not bad! Where's the stuff?"

With a nod, one of the black market dealer's bodyguards immediately dragged a box out of the car and placed it in front of Ye Qi.

The T2 submachine gun, M72 hand grenades, and flashbangs were all neatly arranged in the box. Ye Qi immediately bent down to carefully inspect the equipment. The black market dealer walked up to Ye Qi, sat on the sofa, and extended his hand after seeing Ye Qi's satisfied smile.

"Pleasure doing business, Ye!"

"Pleasure doing business, Mori!"

Ye Qi shook the black market dealer's hand, and they both smiled and shook hands a few times. Ye Qi then placed the box of weapons at his feet and looked at the black market dealer, saying, "Mori, do you want to know some information about 'Mad Dog'?"
