The bear cub seemed to understand Wang Zhong's meaning and used its pink nose to push the lingzhi mushroom to Wang Zhong's leg.
Roar!
Roar!
Roar!
In the forest, the mother bear called out. The bear cub circled Wang Zhong once, though reluctant, it still ran into the mountains. However, it would look back after every few steps.
A distance of over a hundred meters took the bear cub more than ten minutes.
The mother bear roared again, and the bear cub, with a face full of reluctance, turned and entered the forest.
Wang Zhong and Bell stood in place, looking into the distance. They watched the large and small gray figures among the rocks and pines until they completely disappeared!
"Boss, don't eat it!"
Seeing Wang Zhong sniff the lingzhi at the tip of his nose, Bell hurriedly stopped him.
"Wild mushrooms, especially those with bright colors, are mostly poisonous!"
"Mushroom!"
Wang Zhong looked at the lingzhi in his hand and said with a mix of amusement and exasperation.
"Bell, this is lingzhi. Although it is a type of fungus, it is vastly different from mushrooms!"
Wang Zhong said seriously to Bell.
"Lingzhi!"
Bell struggled to pronounce it, looking at Wang Zhong with some confusion.
"Ganoderma Lucidum Karst!"
Seeing Bell's confusion, Wang Zhong described it in Latin. Seeing Bell's understanding, Wang Zhong continued.
"Lingzhi (scientific name: Ganoderma Lucidum Karst), has an umbrella-like shape, with a kidney-shaped, semi-circular, or nearly round cap. It is the fruiting body of the polypore fungus. It has the effects of tonifying qi, calming the mind, and relieving cough and asthma. It is used for dizziness, insomnia, palpitations, shortness of breath, and chronic cough."
"Is this Chinese medicine?"
Bell asked, somewhat surprised.
"Yes, and it is a very valuable type of Chinese medicine!"
Wang Zhong nodded affirmatively.
"Boss! Is the mother bear showing gratitude?"
Bell looked at the lingzhi on the ground, somewhat disbelievingly.
"Do they really have intelligence?"
"Yes, sometimes animals are more lovable than humans!"
Wang Zhong picked up the lingzhi from the ground, somewhat moved.
"God, what have I done? I kill so many bears, deer, and raccoons every year!"
Bell's eyes were moist, and he said with some regret.
"I feel they are like us, with emotions and intelligence!"
"In the East, there is an ancient religion, Buddhism. It believes all beings are equal. Whether it's a blade of grass or a tree, they all have a soul!"
Wang Zhong looked at the departing mother and cub, somewhat reflectively.
"I swear, I will never hunt animals again!"
Bell ejected all the bullets from his gun and swore to the sky.
"I am a sinner, I hope the Lord can forgive me!"
"Alright, Bell, what's done is not your fault!"
Wang Zhong patted Bell's shoulder, softly comforting him.
The centipede dragon, as described in a poem:
"The centipede's shape startles people, with legs all over its body. If a dragonfly appears in front of it, it will become an official of high rank."
The centipede mountain is suitable for a burial site but not for facing. The centipede, as the Red Bird, has a nature similar to that of a snake. Cai Yuanding elaborated in the "Jade Marrow True Classic": "The centipede is toxic, with a nature similar to that of a snake. If seen in front of the burial site, even if it brings wealth and rank, it will also bring a cruel and ruthless nature, disregarding human life. The nature of the centipede is such that it cannot be avoided."
Wang Zhong couldn't help but think of the feng shui layout of Dai Li's residence during the Republic of China era. The remarkable feature of Dai Li's residence is the front sand. Within a distance of two to three kilometers, various shapes are arranged, rich in feng shui significance, enough to make one marvel.
The front sand can be divided into three layers, each rising higher. First, there are the Sleeping Goose Mountain, Small Coffin Mountain, and Golden Ox Mountain, which form the foreground. Next is the Centipede Mountain, no more than three kilometers away, with two centipede mountains on either side, facing each other north to south, with a river flowing between them. The tails of the centipedes are raised high, and their heads are low, as if drinking water, vividly and lifelike. Finally, there is the Chicken Stone Peak, 1,329 meters high, resembling a rooster facing south and crowing. The Liang Li Mountain, Stone Drum Mountain, and Turtle Rock are on the right, facing the residence and exerting high pressure.
The burial site of the residence is not complicated. The dragon vein is a branch of the Xianxia Ridge, extending northwest and facing northeast, backed by the Ao Ding Mountain and facing the Chicken Stone Mountain. The two centipede mountains are arranged on either side, as if the position is already determined by heaven.
The use of the centipede as the front sand in Dai Li's residence is an inherent flaw. In reality, Dai Li, who recognized no relatives, killed people ruthlessly and was bloodthirsty, just like the nature of the centipede.
Whether the centipede is used as a burial site or as the front sand, a slight change in position results in a completely different nature. The use of the centipede as the front sand in Dai Li's residence clearly shows the implications of good and bad fortune.
The sharp and pointed front sand, when it shoots at the burial site, brings punishment, and when it crosses, it brings death. For punishment and death, the experienced Zhang Ziwēi, from the Three Kingdoms period, summarized the feng shui patterns from the cases of Zhang Fei and Guan Yu's ancestral graves. He warned: "Those who like to kill will eventually be killed. These stars all destroy themselves. The martial star produces good descendants, but only because the graves have sharp points in front. Even leading thousands of troops, they will not escape disaster."
The centipede, arranged horizontally, fills the front with a sense of death. It will either harm oneself or others, or both. Dai Li, who was protected by the residence, died a violent death, which was due to the feng shui.
Moreover, in front of Dai Li's residence, there is a high and long Chicken Stone Mountain, stretching for four to five kilometers, making the centipede feel as if it cannot see the sky, only able to bow and be slaughtered. In the northeast of the county, there is another Chicken Stone Mountain. The net of heaven is vast, and even if the two centipedes could escape once, they would ultimately not escape their fate.
In 1946, Dai Li's plane crashed, landing on Dai Mountain. The place where Dai Li died is called Dai Mountain, and its outcome is similar to the two centipedes in front of the residence, with broken legs and falling by the river.
Fortunately, here the centipede is the burial site, not the front!
Moreover, there is no Phoenix Mountain or Chicken Mountain above. In feng shui, a chicken-shaped mountain is also called a Phoenix Mountain. If a Phoenix Mountain is seen above, it brings wealth and prosperity to the descendants, which is a good mountain!
But it cannot be generalized!
The chicken is the natural enemy of the centipede, feeding on it. If there is a Phoenix Mountain in front of the centipede mountain, it is often inauspicious!
In "Journey to the West," there is a scene where the Many-Eyed Demon has a thousand eyes, each emitting golden light, making it impossible to approach or retreat, as if trapped in an invisible net. Even the powerful Sun Wukong could do nothing. Fortunately, the old mother of Lishan pointed out the solution, and Sun Wukong went to the Purple Cloud Mountain to invite the Bodhisattva Pibalan, who broke the golden light net of the Many-Eyed Demon and saved Tang僧, Zhu Bajie, and Sha Wujing. The Many-Eyed Demon, under the spell of Pibalan, revealed its true form, which was a seven-foot-long centipede spirit.
Pibalan is the mother of the star official Ang Ri, one of the twenty-eight constellations, who lives in the Palace of Light in heaven. His true form is a large rooster, and his duty is to "announce the dawn."
From this story, it can be seen that the chicken has a natural restraining effect on the centipede and other venomous insects!
Some of you might say, the natural laws of life and death are part of nature, what does it have to do with feng shui?
Feng shui is about associative thinking and symbolic thinking, where mountains are not just mountains, and water is not just water!
In Wang Zhong's eyes, the current mountain range is like a centipede, baring its fangs and claws, ready to leave its den to hunt. The valley, which resembles this shape, is the bright hall of the burial site.
The two sharp, fang-like rocks are the two large teeth of the centipede's mouth!
After sorting through the information about the centipede burial site and comparing it, Wang Zhong finally felt relieved.
"Hey, Bell, look, these two rocks on either side, don't they look like the two large teeth of a centipede? We've found the burial site!"
"Really, boss?"
Bell asked, somewhat surprised, and his mood had calmed down a bit.
"Of course! Look, the fangs!"
Wang Zhong pointed to the exposed rocks on either side, smiling.
The rocks on both sides of the mountain formed a semi-circle, like strong arms embracing, but in Wang Zhong's eyes, they were the sharp fangs of the centipede.
"Boss, where is the burial site?"
Bell asked, somewhat curious.
"The centipede, in Eastern culture, is called a hundred-legged insect. There's a saying: 'A hundred-legged insect, even dead, does not stiffen.' The centipede's vitality is evident. A centipede burial site can greatly benefit the family. The centipede is also a type of dragon, so like the divine dragon, it can spit out a pearl. Unlike the dragon, which spits out the pearl far away, the centipede's pearl is located in front of the fangs."
Wang Zhong pointed to the front of the centipede's fangs.
"Shit, boss, there's already a grave here!"
Bell curiously approached and suddenly felt the soil under his feet was unusually soft. Upon closer inspection, he saw a small grave marker in an inconspicuous spot.
After all the hard work to find the precious burial site, it had already been claimed. No wonder Bell cursed.
Wang Zhong hurriedly went to check and found a relatively soft mound of soil in front of one of the centipede's fangs. Next to the mound was a small marker, written in both Chinese and English.
The tomb of Zeng Shichang!
"Don't be angry, the centipede spits out two pearls, so there are two burial sites!"
After a thorough inspection, Wang Zhong's heart was finally at ease.
The other burial site was not used!
"Really?"
Bell asked, somewhat disbelieving.
"Of course, the burial site is right under my feet!"
Wang Zhong stomped on the ground, confidently.
"You can dig up the surface soil and see a round pearl, but be very gentle and careful, don't damage it!"
"Okay, boss!"
Reagan took out a military shovel from his backpack and gently removed the surface soil.
"God, it's really amazing!"
The top layer of soil was very loose, and Bell didn't have much trouble removing it. In Reagan's view, the soil turned red, covering an area of about one square foot. Looking down, the red suddenly formed a regular circle. The most peculiar thing was that there were faint spark-like patterns on the red soil.
"Be careful, this is the centipede's pearl! Red belongs to fire in the five elements, and the other burial site must be green, belonging to wood. The image of wood and fire together means that burying here will not only bring prosperity to the family but also make them very intelligent!"
Wang Zhong looked at the red pearl, happily.
"Boss, can I dig a little to see?"
Reagan, curious, asked, pointing at the isolated grave.
"Sure, but you must be extremely careful!"
Wang Zhong nodded and especially instructed.
"Of course!"
Bell nodded heavily. In front of the sharp military shovel, the thin layer of soil was no obstacle. A corner of the isolated grave was dug up, and Reagan and Wang Zhong saw the green soil, which resembled cypress leaves, with many pine needles mixed in.
The shape was incredibly lifelike, as if artificially carved!
It was impossible not to marvel at the ingenuity of nature!
Indeed, it was the image of wood and fire together!
Wang Zhong and Bell carefully refilled the soil and marked the position on the military map. Wang Zhong was still not entirely at ease and used modern high-tech methods for positioning.
After firmly memorizing the surrounding mountain terrain, they walked towards the direction of human habitation.
Calling out the shapes and images is a high-level technique in feng shui, but its original purpose was to help feng shui masters vividly remember the terrain and topography.
Then, they would follow the map to arrange the burial.
Here, Wang Zhong called out the shapes and images, and the centipede leaving its den made the entire mountain range more vivid and lifelike!
