Chapter 28

"Brother Niu, how many do you need?" Seeing Li Huailin about to buy health potions, a player immediately started doing business. Although every player needed these potions, not everyone could afford them. He had a large stockpile that he couldn't sell, and with the guild's tasks taking so long to complete, he couldn't level up, which was making him anxious.

"Wait, let me calculate." Li Huailin checked his gold, which was 22 gold and a few dozen silver coins. After some consideration, he decided to keep a few dozen silver coins and buy 22 gold worth, which was 550 potions. "I need to buy 550 potions. Do you have that many?"

"So many?" The seller was taken aback. Although he had a lot in stock, he didn't have 550. "I have a total of 6 and a half stacks, which is 65 potions."

"I have 5 stacks," another player shouted.

"I have 9 stacks," yet another player shouted.

"Everyone, let's pool our resources and see if we can make it," a player who looked like a guild leader began to organize the group.

Everyone was eager to sell, so the process was quick. Soon, they had counted how many potions each person had and how much money they should receive.

"Brother Niu, we have a total of 42 stacks, which is 420 potions," the leading player said. "If you wait a bit, I can have some guild members bring over the potions from the auction house. It should take about 5 minutes."

Taking down the auction listings would only incur a penalty fee, which was better than leaving them unsold. This way, no one would lose out.

"Okay, I'll wait," Li Huailin thought for a moment and said.

"By the way, we have 55 stacks in total. Your bag won't fit them all. Why don't we go to the bank to make the transaction?" the player suggested.

"Bank?" Li Huailin was taken aback.

"Bank vault, Brother Niu, have you used it before?" the player asked curiously.

"Never, what's the deal?" Li Huailin asked.

"Oh, it's like this." The player explained in detail. In "Glory Heart," each player has a 50-slot inventory, and similar items can stack, but with a limit. Health potions stack up to 10, which is one stack. Li Huailin needed 550 potions, or 55 stacks, which exceeded the inventory limit, so he needed to store them in the bank vault.

In "Glory Heart," each player has a 50-slot bank vault where items cannot be stolen or dropped. To expand the space, you can pay, with each expansion adding 10 slots, but the cost increases each time. The first expansion costs 1 gold, the second costs 10 gold, and so on.

"I see." After listening to the player's explanation, Li Huailin nodded. "Let's go."

They led a few players waiting to be paid to the main city bank nearby. The guild members delivering the potions had already arrived and were waiting at the bank. After a simple transaction, Li Huailin finally got his 550 health potions.

"Brother Niu, I'm the financial officer of the Snow Lion Guild. I don't have the money," the leading player said after receiving 22 gold. "Let's add each other as friends. If you have any business in the future, you can find me."

"Your name is so cool," Li Huailin couldn't help but say.

"Hehe." I Don't Have Money smiled. "Everyone in the guild, big and small, asks me for money, so I chose this name. I just manage the finances, not the main combat team, so I don't need a powerful name."

"Alright, let's keep in touch." Li Huailin smiled.

"Okay." I Don't Have Money said and left with a group of players waiting to split the money.

"Finally done." Li Huailin happily waved his hand, feeling a great sense of satisfaction as he looked at his full inventory of health potions.

"Here, drink this cup of highly toxic health potion." Li Huailin picked up a potion and drank it.

Potion: Lose 35 HP per second for 6 seconds.

"Again." Li Huailin wanted to drink another potion after finishing the first one, but suddenly found he couldn't.

System message: You need to wait 28 seconds before drinking another health potion.

"Damn, there's a cooldown!" Li Huailin was surprised, but then he felt relieved. "Good thing I didn't think too much and bought medium potions directly. If I had bought all small potions, I would have drunk myself to death."

Small potions restore 100 HP per bottle, while medium potions restore 210 HP. Small potions are much cheaper, so theoretically, buying all small potions would be more cost-effective. However, Li Huailin hadn't thought about it at the time, but this unintentional decision saved him from a lot of trouble.

"Almost there." Li Huailin calculated the time and raised his hand to drink another potion.

System message: You need to wait 2 seconds before drinking another health potion.

"Damn, annoying."

Li Huailin was indeed a bit impatient. After struggling with the system for 6 minutes, Li Huailin finally let out a scream and died from drinking too many health potions.

"What the hell?" The nearby player was stunned. He saw someone suddenly collapse and turn into white light in the safe zone of the bank, which was quite strange.

He walked to where Li Huailin had fallen and found a stack of health potions on the ground.

"What the hell, such good luck?" The player quickly picked them up. A stack of health potions was worth 40 silver coins. He looked around nervously to make sure no one was paying attention and then quickly left, as it would be bad if the other player came back looking for them.

"What the hell!" Li Huailin, who had respawned, also found that a stack of health potions had dropped from his inventory. He realized that he would drop items when he died. Until now, he had never dropped anything because he only had a beginner's three-piece set, which didn't count. He had been careless and dropped a stack of health potions.

Li Huailin rushed to the bank, but the items on the ground were already gone.

"Which damn guy stole my stuff!" Li Huailin was angry, but since he didn't know who it was, he could only blame himself.

After some thought, Li Huailin placed 50 stacks of health potions in the bank, leaving 4 stacks on him, with each slot containing one potion. This way, if he died, he would only drop one potion, which was acceptable.

After finishing this, Li Huailin left the bank and started drinking potions while walking to a less crowded area. When he reached a quiet alley, he let out a scream and died.

"Good." Li Huailin, who had respawned, found that he hadn't dropped anything, so his luck seemed to be holding. He continued to drink potions and walked to a less crowded area.

System message: You have reached level 13.

After dying three times, Li Huailin finally leveled up. He would have leveled up after two deaths, but he had lost 9% of his experience from a dungeon run with a few women, so he needed one more death.

Without hesitation, Li Huailin continued drinking potions. His routine was to go to the bank, take 12 potions, drink them while walking to a less crowded area, die there, respawn, and repeat. Each cycle took about 6-7 minutes.

For the entire morning, Li Huailin was immersed in continuous leveling. After dying about 30 times, his level had reached 15. He was in a quiet corner, and he had just finished drinking the 12th potion. In 6 seconds, he should have died.

"Huh?" Unexpectedly, after 6 seconds, Li Huailin found that he was still alive. He checked his HP and saw that he still had over 40 HP, and it was slowly regenerating.

"Huh? Huh?" Li Huailin was stunned, then suddenly realized that he had leveled up. Drinking 12 potions was no longer enough to kill him; he needed 13.

"This is troublesome." Li Huailin's first thought was to quickly go back to the bank to get another potion, or else the HP regeneration would be wasted.

Just as this thought crossed his mind, he suddenly felt a tightness in his gut. "Damn, am I stupid? I have 280% more HP now. Why don't I wait for my HP to fully regenerate before drinking the poison to level up? I can die with just 3-4 potions. Why waste so many potions?"
