This team's appearance was indeed a bit late, making Li Huailin and the others search for them for a full ten minutes before they finally showed up. However, it was still good that no idiotic team would rush in upon seeing these hundreds of people, so it seemed there wasn't much of a problem.

The team was clearly heading this way, and Li Huailin and the others also moved forward to meet them. Upon getting closer, they found that the leader was a handsome middle-aged NPC in his fifties, wearing a shiny silver armor. His green name tag read "Dewarrien." Beside him was Maente, the adjutant whom Li Huailin and the others had already met. Behind them were about a hundred well-armed main city soldiers, with extremely fine equipment, clearly an elite force.

"Seems like the leader from that outpost, some kind of count," Li Huailin recalled and said.

"Let's see what's going on," Red Moon said.

Count Dewarrien led his soldiers in a hurried rush, but upon seeing Li Huailin and the others, his eyes immediately lit up, and he stopped.

"Gentlemen, are you the heroes who defeated General D'Krik?"

Count Dewarrien asked with a smile.

"Yes, we are," Red Moon, who was standing at the front, replied.

"You did a great job!" Count Dewarrien praised, "Since I've been stationed here, there has never been such a significant breakthrough. This is the best opportunity to eliminate the Borune Lizardmen!"

"We received the news and immediately rushed here. Now the outer troops are engaged in battle with the Lizardmen's army, and my lord has decided to lead the elite team to launch a surprise attack on the enemy's base," Maente, the adjutant, added.

"This is the critical moment to eliminate the Lizardmen. Gentlemen, I hope you can assist me in driving these evil creatures out of Borune," Count Dewarrien said.

"The mission has been upgraded," Red Dust whispered. Red Moon and the others also checked their mission logs and found that the difficulty had changed from B to A, and of course, the rewards in terms of money and experience had also increased. Fortunately, Li Huailin hadn't taken the mission, or he would have been penalized even more.

"It seems to be a mission for the abyss dungeon. I don't know what will happen from here on out; this plot doesn't exist in the regular dungeon. Everyone, be prepared to adapt," Red Moon reminded them.

"Lord, look!" Maente suddenly pointed to the densely packed Lizardmen on the steps and shouted, "The elite soldiers on the opposite side have gathered at the entrance of the town center, trying to block us."

"It seems the enemy has also received news of our surprise attack," Count Dewarrien frowned, thought for a moment, then suddenly drew his sword, raised it high, and shouted to the soldiers behind him, "I can see the fear of the enemy in your eyes. I can see your concerns: 'How can we fight such powerful monsters...' Warriors of the Empire!! Let me answer you: We fight them with the steel in our hands! We fight them with the courage in our hearts! Above all, we fight for the honor of the Empire!!!"

"Fight! Fight! Fight!" The hundred or so soldiers behind him raised their long swords and shouted in unison.

"Gentlemen, follow me. This is the decisive battle, for the glory of the Empire!" Count Dewarrien said to Li Huailin and the others.

The nearly hundred-strong team stood there, and of course, the Lizardmen on the opposite side had already noticed them. However, without a general to lead them, as their general had already been RAIDed by Li Huailin and the others before the assembly, they didn't know whether to charge or what to do. They could only temporarily form ranks according to their training to prevent their formation from being disrupted.

"Warriors, follow me! Charge!" Count Dewarrien, of course, knew the weakness of the enemy lacking a general and took the initiative to seek a battle opportunity. Count Dewarrien led the charge, rushing forward first.

"Kill!" The group of soldiers behind him immediately roared and charged toward the Lizardmen's formation. With Count Dewarrien leading the charge, their morale was high.

"I'm starting to feel like I want to kill someone," Li Huailin, looking at the intense battle scene, felt a surge of excitement. "President, let's charge too."

"The abyss dungeon won't let the NPCs solve the battle for us so easily. There must be something else, or it wouldn't be an A-level mission. But let's help out first," Red Moon, as always, remained calm and analyzed the situation.

The two sides were not far apart, and the two hundred-strong teams quickly clashed. Although the Lizardmen's army had a geographical advantage on the steps, the lack of a leader was a fatal flaw. As soon as the two sides engaged, the outcome was immediately clear.

The human side maintained their formation and began to systematically kill the Lizardmen units. However, the Lizardmen's formation quickly collapsed, with the routes between their warriors being cut off, leading to local battles where they were outnumbered and picked off one by one.

Li Huailin and the others, of course, didn't know how the main city's army was organized, but their five-person team's efficiency in killing monsters was also impressive. A 4500 HP elite Lizardman warrior couldn't last 20 seconds under their attacks, and the elite mages died even faster. The five of them were quite effective in their attacks.

The battle lasted about 5 minutes, and the Lizardmen's defeat was evident. Out of the hundred or so Lizardmen, only about thirty remained, and they seemed to have lost their will to fight, ready to flee at any moment.

"We are about to win, warriors, just a little more!" Count Dewarrien shouted to the surrounding soldiers. Although the humans had the upper hand, there were still casualties. The humans had killed over 70 Lizardmen but had also lost over 20 of their own. They needed the support of their will, and Count Dewarrien immediately encouraged the troops.

The Lizardmen, however, had no leader to boost their morale. Seeing the increasingly fierce human soldiers, the Lizardmen began to flee, and the line at the steps could no longer be held.

Just then, a loud female voice suddenly rang out: "Release my children!"

With the shout, a burst of fire erupted from the town center, and the human soldiers at the front couldn't dodge in time. The intense heat of the flames immediately turned several of them into black charcoal, and others, though not directly hit, were immediately injured and lost their fighting ability.

"Look, the change is here," Red Moon and the others, standing further back, were unharmed but looked toward the entrance of the town center.

A figure slowly walked out of the town center, appearing human, fully wrapped in a purple-black robe, making it impossible to see her face. However, her figure indicated that she was a woman.

Li Huailin used his reconnaissance skill, but the target's level was too high, and he could only see her name: Haja Fogward, with the rest being question marks.

"Haja Fogward!" Count Dewarrien stepped forward and shouted at Haja, "It's you!"

"Dewarrien, long time no see," Haja said to Count Dewarrien, "Trying to ambush us while I'm away? Not so easy, I've already returned."

"You traitor to humanity!"

Count Dewarrien said angrily, "Twenty years ago, I was too soft-hearted to let you go, and I've regretted it ever since. Today, I won't let you go. Today is the day of your and your half-dragon husband's sacrifice."

"You realize it too late. Today, you can no longer defeat me, for I have inherited the power of the demigod Moragus. See the power I have gained!"

Haja Fogward spread her hands, and two balls of fire appeared in them, emitting a brilliant light, clearly indicating a high temperature.

"Bad! I can feel the power of dragon breath in her flames. Everyone, quickly take cover!" Count Dewarrien's face changed drastically, and he immediately shouted.

"Too late, let me purify everything!" Haja Fogward waved her hands, and a large fireball immediately flew toward the area with the most soldiers.

"Everyone, quickly get off the steps," Red Moon immediately said. Although the fireball wasn't aimed at them, she feared being caught in the crossfire and wanted to move further away to watch the plot unfold.

With a "boom," the fireball exploded in the crowd, immediately engulfing a dozen or so soldiers in flames. The power was immense, and those who were hit either died or were severely injured.

"Children, go to the outer perimeter to help other teams. I can handle this alone," Haja Fogward said to the remaining Lizardmen elites.

"Does she just set up her own death flag?" Li Huailin said on the side. "Usually, the one who is about to die would say something like that."

"Still have the mood to joke around. She is probably the next boss. Look, the main city soldiers are almost all dead, and her people have been taken away by the system. Now it's just us left," Red Dust said. "How do we fight such a powerful fireball that can kill a dozen people in seconds?"

"Let's see what happens," Red Moon said.
