Chapter 52

Looking at Annie, who seemed somewhat awkward and unnatural in front of him, Jin Hyuntae vaguely felt that the illness Annie had might be one of those hard-to-talk-about conditions.

Although Jin Hyuntae had no dirty thoughts, he naturally began to let his imagination run wild, trying to think of possible illnesses that could correspond to Annie's current state.

Surprisingly, Jin Hyuntae did think of a condition whose symptoms could match Annie's.

Even though Jin Hyuntae wasn't a doctor, he couldn't help but recall many bizarre news stories and information he had seen on the internet in his previous life.

Jin Hyuntae could clearly remember a news article and video he had come across online in his previous life. The video was simple: it talked about a woman in the UK who had a strange illness that caused her to climax involuntarily several times a day.

However, that woman could have an episode at any time, while Annie's condition seemed to only occur at night.

Without a doubt, Jin Hyuntae had already associated Annie's state with that bizarre illness.

As a result, when he looked at Annie, his eyes betrayed a strange expression, a mix of amusement, pity, and awkwardness.

"Ah!"

What kind of look is that!

Under Jin Hyuntae's gaze, Annie was almost mortified.

Fortunately, Jin Hyuntae coughed to ease the awkwardness.

"Um, I understand that your illness is hard to talk about, so I won't ask any more questions. But I still want to remind you that some illnesses should be checked by a doctor. I won't disturb you anymore, just rest well."

With that, Jin Hyuntae left the room without looking back, leaving Annie sitting on the bed with a peculiar expression.

"What! What!"

Why do I have an illness!

What does this guy mean?

Jin Hyuntae made his own assumptions and then said a lot of things, leaving Annie completely confused.

But when Annie calmed down, she thought that using an illness as an excuse to cover up the embarrassing secret discovered today might not be a bad idea.

What else could she do?

Tell Jin Hyuntae the truth?

Oh no!

No way, that would be really embarrassing.

So, if Jin Hyuntae thought she had an illness, it saved her from having to explain anything.

Thinking about this, Annie felt a bit better.

"Really, being seen in such an embarrassing situation, it's so embarrassing."

The incident that night made Annie feel incredibly embarrassed.

But no matter how much she thought about it, the fact was that it had already happened and couldn't be changed.

Turning her head, she looked at Coco, who was still sound asleep and looked very peaceful. Annie pouted and gently pinched Coco's little cheek, muttering to herself, "Your dad saw me in my dream, how embarrassing. Why isn't your dad like you, sleeping through thunderstorms? If he were, he wouldn't have seen me in that embarrassing state."

Coco, still asleep, continued to snore, her adorable and innocent look making Annie laugh out loud.

Well, since it had already been seen and couldn't be changed, why think about it so much?

Besides, since that guy thought she had an illness, she might as well go along with it.

In the end, Annie got up, closed the door again, and returned to bed.

Unfortunately, Annie couldn't fall asleep no matter what, and she stayed awake all night until morning.

And there was another person who couldn't sleep, and that was Jin Hyuntae.

It was easy to understand why Annie couldn't sleep, but why couldn't Jin Hyuntae sleep?

It turned out that after Jin Hyuntae mistakenly thought Annie had a hard-to-talk-about illness, he couldn't stop thinking about all the information related to that illness.

This led Jin Hyuntae to start imagining the scenes of a woman being tormented by such an illness every day, which kept him awake all night. It was quite amusing, really.

So, when Jin Hyuntae, with dark circles under his eyes, started to wash up at 6 a.m. the next morning, he noticed that Annie also had dark circles under her eyes.

"Ask nothing, say nothing, I do have a strange illness."

At the bathroom door, before Jin Hyuntae could say anything, Annie spoke first.

Hearing this, Jin Hyuntae gave a look that made Annie want to laugh but also feel embarrassed, and he nodded solemnly before continuing to brush his teeth.

Phew!

Seeing that Jin Hyuntae didn't bring up the incident from last night, Annie finally breathed a sigh of relief.

But she still felt embarrassed facing Jin Hyuntae, so she quickly went to the other bathroom.

It was an awkward morning for both Jin Hyuntae and Annie.

But since they were living under the same roof, they couldn't avoid each other even if they felt awkward.

So, both of them made the same choice: to pretend that nothing had happened last night.

After finishing his morning routine, Jin Hyuntae, seeing that he had some time, went downstairs to the kitchen and started preparing breakfast.

Annie, after Jin Hyuntae went downstairs, quickly finished her own routine and returned to the room to pick up the now awake Coco, taking her to the bathroom to wash her face, brush her teeth, and change her diaper.

"Did Coco not pee last night? Can you hold it now?"

While changing Coco's diaper, Annie noticed that it was dry, meaning Coco hadn't peed.

Coco, standing obediently, lifted her little face and said in a cute, high-pitched voice, "Coco doesn't wet the bed, Coco is very strong."

Wow!

A ten-month-old child could hold it, which was indeed impressive.

Especially for a child like Coco, who could do more than just that.

Walking! Talking!

Compared to other children her age, Coco's abilities were almost magical.

But Annie wasn't an ordinary person, and knowing about Coco's father, Jin Hyuntae's "IQ," it wasn't surprising that the little girl had such advanced abilities.

"Yes, Coco is very strong. So, does that mean we don't need to wear diapers anymore?" Annie responded with a smile.

Coco tilted her head, furrowed her little eyebrows, and thought for a moment, her cute expression making Annie laugh.

"No, I'm afraid I might wet my pants."

After some "serious" thought, Coco decided she would still wear diapers.

"Hey! Are you really only ten months old? Why do I feel like you're more like a four or five-year-old? Most kids your age can only crawl around and babble, but you can communicate normally."

Annie, still smiling, changed Coco's diaper and started dressing her.

"Coco is very strong."

No matter what Annie said, Coco would respond with "I'm very strong," making Annie laugh continuously.

After interacting with Coco for a while, Annie forgot about some of her "troubles" and felt better.

As for Coco's seemingly magical abilities, only Jin Hyuntae, her father, knew the real truth.

"Mommy, hold me! Mommy, hold Coco!"

The little girl still called Annie "Mommy," and Annie didn't mind, smiling as she picked her up.

"Find Daddy, eat."

Coco, who was very hungry, immediately directed Annie to carry her downstairs to find her father, knowing that he would have prepared breakfast for her.

"Okay, okay, let's take our little princess to find her knight," Annie said, making Coco very happy. "Oh! Oh! Coco is a little princess!"

Of course, Coco didn't really understand what a knight was, but she was just repeating what Annie said.

Despite Coco's advanced abilities, she was still a normal child in many ways.

"My knight Daddy, the little princess is here!"

Coco, excited, shouted from Annie's arms.

Jin Hyuntae, who was preparing breakfast, smiled at his daughter's enthusiasm, which seemed to have lifted his mood as well.

Holding the excited Coco, Annie prepared to go downstairs. As they passed Jin Hyuntae's room, she glanced inside.

"I wonder what he wrote last night. I'll have to take a look after he leaves."

Then, Annie continued down the stairs.

"Daddy! Coco is hungry."

Annie carried Coco downstairs, and the little girl immediately started complaining about being hungry.

"What do you want for breakfast?"

Annie, still holding Coco, asked casually.

"Coco's favorite meat porridge. Kids should eat something light in the morning. I've prepared a sandwich for you, and there's some cucumber juice over there."

Jin Hyuntae, moving quickly, responded to Annie while continuing his work, making her feel a bit dizzy.

He really is a good father.

Looking at the busy Jin Hyuntae, Annie looked down at Coco in her arms and silently sighed.

"You are so lucky to have such a good father."

Coco, in Annie's arms, stretched her neck to see what her father was preparing. Her attention was now on the pot on the stove, which was steaming.

"For lunch, you can take the child to eat wherever you like. I recommend that Chinese restaurant. You can tell them your preferences and what to be careful about when feeding the child, and they will take care of it."

Since Jin Hyuntae would be starting his high school life today, Annie would be responsible for taking care of Coco and their meals during the day.

Considering that Annie couldn't cook, to prevent them from going hungry, Jin Hyuntae's best choice was to have Annie order takeout from the Chinese restaurant.

Fortunately, the owner of the Chinese restaurant was very accommodating. You could tell him what to be careful about when preparing the dishes, and he would follow your instructions.

This made the Chinese restaurant the only choice for Jin Hyuntae, who wanted his daughter to eat lightly.

"I understand. Coco is young and shouldn't eat too much oil or salt. Light and organic food is best, right?"

Jin Hyuntae had already instructed her about this, so Annie remembered it clearly.

"Yes, just be mindful of these things. School ends at 2:30 PM. I'll buy groceries and cook dinner, so you don't need to worry about dinner."

"Okay," Annie nodded, indicating that she had noted everything.

With everything prepared, Jin Hyuntae finally put on the black leather backpack he had bought the day before and left the house reluctantly.

"Don't get too close to those delinquents at school. If you have any problems or troubles, try to seek help from the teachers... and don't get into fights..."

Annie, holding Coco, leaned against the door and shouted to Jin Hyuntae, who was already in the pickup truck, as if giving him some friendly advice.

But what Annie really wanted to tell Jin Hyuntae was, "Don't get too close to those girls at school, especially those cheerleaders," but she couldn't bring herself to say it.

In the end, she changed her words.
