As Annie bid farewell to old George and set off for the Monica community with her old butler Nord and the accompanying bodyguards, Jin Hyuntae was participating in a rugby match with his classmates, getting thoroughly thrashed by the opposing team.
Rugby is a very popular sport in the parallel universe's United States, and it is also one of the four major sports in the country. Many Americans are enthusiastic about watching or participating in this sport.
Jin Hyuntae merely knew about this sport but had never played it before. This was his first time, and he tasted the bitter experience of being 'thrashed.' However, compared to Jin Hyuntae, a newcomer, Omar and the other classmates suffered much more.
After all, it was Jin Hyuntae's first time, so being thrashed was understandable, but for them to be beaten to a pulp was a bit too much.
Due to the intense physical nature of rugby, Jin Hyuntae truly experienced the unique aspects of this sport. Omar had been knocked down several times in front of him. His frail physique made him a target for being thrashed, with no ability to resist.
The other male classmates were not much better. From the start of the match, Class A was overwhelmingly dominated by the other team.
It wasn't until the bell rang, signaling the end of the match, that Jin Hyuntae and his classmates were finally relieved. They watched helplessly as the Class E students left the field with their heads held high, enjoying the flirtatious glances, cheers, and flying kisses from the surrounding girls.
Jin Hyuntae and his group did not receive such treatment. The girls only gave them cold looks and ignored them.
Fortunately, Jin Hyuntae was not bothered by this. He didn't care whether girls paid attention to him, so his good attitude kept him in a good mood.
However, the other male classmates did not have such a good attitude.
"Damn it, we lost again."
"Those guys are in great physical shape, and a few of them are on the school rugby team. We amateurs can't compare."
"Damn! I can't accept this. Why do those girls only look at those guys and ignore us? I want to be favored by the girls too, ahhh."
A group of thoroughly thrashed teenagers began to vent their dissatisfaction collectively.
Jin Hyuntae found it somewhat amusing to listen and watch.
He rubbed his sore body and thought, "My goodness, rugby is indeed not a sport for ordinary people. The physical intensity is too high. I'm aching all over. I wonder if my body has been damaged."
Thinking about the intense collisions during the match, Jin Hyuntae felt a bit scared now.
Although he was wearing protective gear, Jin Hyuntae still felt this sport was somewhat dangerous.
Fortunately, he was now 1.84 meters tall, and his physical fitness had improved, so he could handle it. If he were like his new friend Omar, he wouldn't have been able to cope.
Jin Hyuntae scanned the area, looking for Omar.
He remembered that Omar had been knocked down four times within ten minutes of the match starting and had to withdraw due to the pain.
He could clearly recall the scene where Omar was slammed several meters away by a big guy from the other team, which was quite brutal.
After scanning the area, Jin Hyuntae saw Omar still wincing in pain and walked over to him.
"We lost again. It's understandable. A few of the Class E students are on the school rugby team, and their physical fitness is much better than ours. It's normal for this to happen. But as long as we don't give up, we can improve ourselves in the next match and might not always lose."
After Jin Hyuntae walked over and stood in front of him, Omar rubbed his chest to ease the pain and still managed to show his 'never-give-up spirit.'
"Alright, let me help you. Can you stand up now?"
Seeing his new friend Omar, Jin Hyuntae smiled helplessly and extended his hand.
"No problem, I'm a man."
Omar struggled to stand up, but his occasionally twitching lips revealed his true condition.
"Come on, don't be stubborn. Do you need to go to the infirmary and get some medicine?"
This physical education class, a rugby match against Class E, was almost too much for Jin Hyuntae to handle, let alone Omar, whose physical fitness was worse.
"No need to go to the infirmary, really."
Omar, to show his 'manly spirit,' continued to struggle.
Jin Hyuntae looked at Omar seriously, confirmed that he was not seriously injured, and did not insist further. After all, Omar had his pride, and it wouldn't be right to expose his weakness.
After all, a 16-17-year-old guy shouldn't go to the infirmary for such minor injuries; it would be embarrassing. As long as he rested for a few days, the pain would go away. That's the advantage of being young.
Moreover, the physical fitness of American teenagers is generally quite strong.
Besides, there were still many girls around who hadn't left, and Omar wanted to show off. Jin Hyuntae had to give him a chance.
Jin Hyuntae, with the soul of a middle-aged man, was not the type to miss such subtle cues.
Considering these factors, Jin Hyuntae did not insist further.
The end of the second physical education class also marked the end of the school day.
However, Jin Hyuntae did not immediately return to the classroom to leave school. Instead, he supported Omar and walked around the field for a while. After Omar finally recovered, they went to the high school shower room to take a hot shower, returned the protective gear, and then went back to the classroom to get his backpack.
American high school students generally do not leave school immediately after school. While some students do, most stay behind to participate in club activities.
Activities like the basketball club, rugby club, literature club, astronomy club, and more start after school.
American students are very enthusiastic about participating in club activities. Regardless of your interests, you can find a corresponding club and easily become a member to join in the fun.
Jin Hyuntae was about to join a club formed by his new friend Omar and his buddy, the 'Brotherhood'... the Human Body Research Club.
From the name of the club, Jin Hyuntae couldn't help but think of some scenes from American teen movies where losers act shamelessly.
After taking a shower and getting his backpack, Jin Hyuntae followed Omar to the basement corridor of the high school building.
"Sorry, our club has limited funds and only two members. If you count, we'll have three. For a small club like ours, it's impossible to get a large activity room."
In the basement corridor, Omar turned back to look at Jin Hyuntae, who was following him, and explained apologetically.
Jin Hyuntae was not surprised. He had already anticipated this.
Omar, being a loser, clearly couldn't form a good club or attract many members.
After all, everyone wants to attract the attention of hot girls. How could joining a club called 'Human Body Research' help with that?
Damn!
This was a joke, right?
So, Jin Hyuntae could easily imagine why Omar's club and 'Brotherhood' had so few members.
"Unless someone has truly given up and feels they have no chance with hot girls, they wouldn't join such a club."
Jin Hyuntae silently followed Omar, thinking about this.
"Omar is probably in that situation."
Jin Hyuntae quickly looked up and glanced at Omar's back, finding it somewhat amusing.
"Right, the other member of the club Omar mentioned is probably in the same situation."
But why did he have to join?
Thinking about this, Jin Hyuntae suddenly looked surprised.
He realized he was following Omar to what he imagined to be a 'loser's hell.'
However, since he was here, he might as well make the best of it. After all, he was a loser in his previous life, and being a loser in this life wasn't a big deal.
Besides, wasn't this a way of life?
As long as he was happy, why should he care about others' opinions?
Omar was his new friend, and Jin Hyuntae had a good impression of him.
Although Omar had his flaws, no one is perfect. Jin Hyuntae wasn't perfect either, so he had no right to demand perfection from Omar.
Just because Omar was so afraid and followed him back to the bathroom at lunch, Jin Hyuntae considered him a friend.
Thinking about this, Jin Hyuntae felt more relaxed, and his steps became lighter.
The basement corridor was long and, being underground, was colder than the upper floors.
There were dozens of storage rooms on both sides, filled with various supplies. Each storage room had a dim light, making the entire corridor seem dark and eerie, like a scene from a horror movie.
Omar led Jin Hyuntae to the end of the corridor and stopped in front of the last storage room door.
Jin Hyuntae looked up and saw a sign on the door that read "Human Body Research Club" (Omar's Brotherhood) in English.
"Here we are!"
Omar smiled at Jin Hyuntae and took out the key to open the wooden door.
When Omar inserted the key, he found the door was not locked, indicating someone had already arrived.
The person who could open the door was obviously not an outsider but another member of the Brotherhood.
Realizing the door was not locked, Omar put away the key, turned the handle, and pushed the door open.
"Vincent, we have a new member! Hey, why is it so dark in here? Why didn't you turn on the lights?"
Omar pushed the door open and found the room pitch black, with only a faint light coming from a corner. He shouted towards the corner with the light.
Noticing the room was dark, he reached out to find the light switch.
"Oh! Yeah!"
"Eon, baby!"
"Tease, I **"
Jin Hyuntae stood behind Omar and, when Omar moved aside, he could see the inside of the room.
He noticed that although the room was dark, there was a light coming from a corner, likely from a TV or computer screen, which was playing something.
He also heard some strange sounds.
"Huh! This tone, this sound, why does it feel so familiar?"
Jin Hyuntae heard the strange sounds and felt a sudden realization.
He then focused on the screen, which was now clearly visible because Omar had found the switch and turned on the lights.
