After a brief dizziness, consciousness slowly returned, and Lin Yue opened his eyes to survey the surroundings.

Sunlight streamed in through an open venetian blind, spreading across the desk in front, illuminating documents written in Thai. A photo was stuck in the upper right corner of the paper, and next to it, the name "Songpa" was written in the name field.

Songpa, the craftsman from Songpa's workshop? One of the criminals in the Bangkok Chinatown gold heist?

According to the movie's plot, the police discovered that Songpa had been killed in his workshop during a search operation, and the stolen gold had vanished.

So, what time is it now? Before Songpa's death or after?

If it's before Songpa's death, as long as he can prevent the murder and help the police catch Songpa, there's a good chance he can uncover the remaining thieves.

But...

Would it be that simple? After all, the system rated the mission difficulty as normal, not heaven.

Lin Yue's gaze lingered on the desk before shifting to the right area.

Hanging on the wall were certificates of honor, and on the bookshelf were books related to criminal investigation. Above them were trophies and medals tied with ribbons, and below the bookshelf were a bottle of champagne and a bottle of brandy.

He tapped his toes on the ground, and the swivel chair turned slightly.

The door was closed, and a mirror hung on the left wall, next to which was a photo of a man in a police uniform, the police badge on the brim of his cap exaggeratedly large, looking a bit comical.

Is this Huang Landeng's office?

Is he the iron-blooded detective Huang Landeng from the Chinatown police station, the top unlucky guy who has been hit in the nose multiple times and hasn't even become a deputy commissioner?

Creak.

With the sound of the door opening, a man walked in.

"You're awake? You were so busy last night, why didn't you sleep in a bit more?"

Lin Yue turned his head and was stunned when he saw the man.

With his slicked-back hair, neatly trimmed sideburns, and a small braid of beard on his chin, the man was none other than the iron-blooded detective Huang Landeng from the Chinatown police station!

Then who is he?

Lin Yue's eyes widened.

"Excited to see me?" Huang Landeng walked to the bookshelf, took out a cigar box from the right compartment, pulled out a cigar, cut off the cap, and lit it with a lighter, gently rotating it in the blue flame as he turned around.

"Want one?"

Lin Yue shook his head, still looking half-asleep.

The tip of the cigar began to turn black, and a wisp of blue smoke rose from the middle.

Huang Landeng put the cigar in his mouth, walked to the open venetian blind, tilted his head back at a 45-degree angle to look at the sky, combed his hair fixed with hair gel, and took a deep puff of the cigar.

The smoke rose gracefully in the sunlight, and the pungent smell of the tobacco leaves spread.

"Kun Tai, that dimwit, what else can he do besides imitating my speech? He made a fool of himself in front of the commissioner just now. Deputy commissioner? Hmph, what does he have to compete with me?" Huang Landeng had a determined look on his face.

During the case progress report in the meeting room, the commissioner told them that whoever could catch the murderer of Songpa and recover the stolen gold would become the deputy commissioner of the Chinatown police station.

He had been eyeing that position for a long time, and now the opportunity had finally come. As long as he solved the case and defeated his arch-rival and competitor Kun Tai, he would no longer be the iron-blooded detective but the iron-blooded commissioner.

Lin Yue remained silent, pondering the information revealed in Huang Landeng's words.

Case progress report in the meeting room; Kun Tai imitating Huang Landeng's speech; the commissioner saying whoever could catch the murderer and recover the gold would become the new deputy commissioner...

So, it's the first day after Songpa's death, and also the day the protagonist Qin Feng arrives in Bangkok.

Feeling almost fully recovered, Lin Yue left the swivel chair and walked to the mirror on the left, carefully examining the face in the mirror.

Sharp eyes, a face full of gloom, light brown hair on the forehead, and a small mustache under the lips. In "Detective Chinatown," only one person has these features—Tony.

Tony, Huang Landeng's assistant, and the fifth thief in Qin Feng's deduction of the gold heist.

Damn, he actually ended up in this guy's body.

He had just called Huang Landeng an unlucky guy, but the person he possessed was even more pitiful. According to the movie's plot, Tony was later captured by the owner of the gold, and whether he was really thrown into the Chao Phraya River to feed the crocodiles was not mentioned, but it's safe to assume he met a bad end.

As he confirmed his identity, memories of the past flashed through his mind. Perhaps because he had a similar experience before, his expression remained relatively normal, though a hint of pain occasionally flickered in his eyes.

He stood in front of the mirror for a while until Huang Landeng came over and patted his shoulder, and Lin Yue snapped out of his daze, sighing deeply.

After receiving Tony's memories, he confirmed one thing.

Tony was not the fifth thief. He knew no more about the gold heist than Huang Landeng did. If it weren't for the investigation, he wouldn't even know who Songpa was, let alone steal the gold.

No wonder the system wanted him to enter the movie world to correct Qin Feng's mistake and find the real culprit of the gold heist. It turned out to be a miscarriage of justice.

But why would the innocent Tony be associated with Songpa and be identified as the fifth thief by Qin Feng?

"Handsome, really handsome, 24K pure handsome." The Tony in the mirror wiggled his eyebrows in a flirtatious manner, looking extremely annoying.

Tony was shorter than Huang Landeng by half a head, which made him look less imposing, fitting the description of the fifth thief in the gold heist, which was one of the reasons for Qin Feng's judgment.

Lin Yue didn't say anything. After the headache eased, he turned and walked to the desk, took several tissues from the box, and stuffed them into Huang Landeng's vest pocket, patting it: "Take more of these, you'll need them later."

Huang Landeng was taken aback and said with a sidelong glance, "You're crazy."

Lin Yue ignored him, pushed open the office door, and walked out. The nearby officers glanced at him and then lowered their heads to continue working, the air filled with a sense of busyness.

The Chinatown police station was basically divided into two factions, one led by Huang Landeng and the other by Kun Tai. The two groups had been competing openly and secretly in their daily work, and now with a major case in Chinatown involving the deputy commissioner's position, everyone was determined to defeat their rivals and win the favor and praise of their superiors.

He walked a few steps forward and suddenly heard a familiar ringtone. He took out his phone and saw it was a call from the commissioner.

"Tony, are you busy now? If not, come to my office."

"Sure, Commissioner."

Lin Yue put his phone back in his pocket, left the hall where the officers were working, and headed to the commissioner's office on the third floor.

He knocked on the door outside the room.

Knock, knock, knock.

"Come in." A stern voice came from the other side of the door.

Lin Yue pushed open the door and walked into the room. The big boss was sitting behind the desk, with a white coffee cup on his right, steam rising from the rim.
