The woman seemed to sense someone behind her, turned around, and upon seeing Yang Luo, she was taken aback and asked, "Who are you?"
Yang Luo sized up the woman, estimating her age to be around 40. However, if she was Liu Shijie's mother, she must have taken good care of herself, looking much younger than her actual age. She had a great figure, and while she wasn't beautiful, she certainly wasn't ugly. This woman was a temptress; though she was a bit older, her charm would still make many men's hormones surge.
The woman was seething with anger and had nowhere to vent it. Seeing Yang Luo staring at her, she snapped, "Who are you? Don't you know it's very impolite to stare at a woman like that? How was your mother raised?"
Yang Luo's lips curled into a wicked smile, "Madam! Didn't your mother tell you before she died that it's very impolite to speak to a gentleman with such manners?"
Jiang Cheng kept giving Yang Luo eye signals, urging him to stop talking nonsense. But Yang Luo acted as if he didn't see, and the more he talked, the more pleased he became, "You're quite old, so please don't get angry. If you get a stroke or something, it would be troublesome. Although you're not young, dying is fine, but dying of anger would be a real pity." No matter what kind of woman, they are very sensitive about their age, especially older women, for whom it's a taboo.
The woman's face turned ashen, and she pointed at Yang Luo, unable to speak. As the wife of the vice mayor, she was always treated with utmost respect and had never experienced such treatment. However, since Yang Luo hadn't hit or insulted her, she had no way to deal with his provocation.
Yang Luo looked up with a grin, winking at Jiang Cheng, "Old Jiang! That handsome and suave Yang Luo went to Huashan Hospital. He said thinking of Liu Shijie makes him furious. You should send someone to stop him, or Liu Shijie will be bedridden for life."
Before Jiang Cheng could respond, the woman panicked and shouted, "What did you say? That Yang Luo is causing trouble for Xiaojie again?"
Yang Luo turned to look at the woman and nodded seriously, "Yes! We were together earlier, and he got out of the car halfway to tell me this. That guy means what he says; he's not just bluffing." Then, as if suddenly realizing something, he added, "Who are you, anyway? Why are you asking so many questions?"
The woman didn't answer Yang Luo. She ran out of the office and then rushed back, "Jiang Cheng! Why aren't you sending someone to stop him? If anything happens to Xiaojie, I won't let you off."
Jiang Cheng glanced at Yang Luo, as if to say, "You're playing with fire, and you'll get into trouble sooner or later." But now he had no choice and could only nod in agreement, finding a few people to follow the woman to Huashan Hospital.
Yang Luo walked to the window, watching the woman hurriedly get into her car and leave. He suddenly burst into laughter, "Old Jiang! Isn't your brother a good friend, helping you solve a big problem?"
Jiang Cheng rolled his eyes, "Helping me solve a big problem? Isn't this because of you? Besides, when she finds out she was tricked at the hospital, my trouble will be even bigger."
Yang Luo took out a cigarette, threw one to Jiang Cheng, and then lit his own, taking a deep puff, "Why are you so stubborn? Just blame it on Director Han."
Jiang Cheng shook his head hastily, "If this woman goes to Director Han and causes a scene, he'll skin me alive."
Yang Luo said helplessly, "You're a minor official now. Don't you understand the unwritten rules?"
