When he arrived at the high school the next morning and Yu Rui saw the table behind his empty, he remembered that he had forgotten to talk to Xie Li about the situation with Pei An An and the girlfriend in the picture.
Xie Li did not show up all morning and did not give him a chance to remedy the situation.
The man arrived mid-afternoon, but as soon as he walked in the door he seemed to remember something, and instead of returning to his seat, Xie Li went straight to Pei An An’s seat.
At first, there was a lot of commotion in the classroom, but after the students noticed Xie Li’s movement, they immediately followed their gossipy instincts and lowered their voices, watching with curious eyes.
Pei An An was talking to the one at the back table when Xie Li stopped, and the girl at the back table froze when she saw him stop next to Pei An An’s table, then she reached out her hand and poked Pei An An, pointing behind her, “Xie Li seems to be looking for you.”
Pei An An was surprised, she turned around and tilted her head, the guy next to her table was tall, and looked at her with lazy and bored eyes.
“Xie… Xie Li, do you want something? “At the thought of those rumors, Pei An An’s face reddened and her voice lowered unconsciously.
Xie Li was in no hurry to speak, he frowned and looked at the circle around his body, those indiscreet eyes meeting his withdrawal.
Finally, Xie Li looked toward the corner of the window at the back of the classroom.
The waist of the one in the white shirt sitting in the second to the last row had his back straight, he seemed to be going over a problem or doing work, but now he stopped writing and also raised his eyes to look at him.
Those eyes were dark and calm.
After a few seconds of staring at each other, Xie Li looked down and smiled, “Pei An An, there’s something I want to talk to you about…. let’s go outside.”
After Xie Li finished speaking, he turned and walked out of the classroom.
When he walked two or three meters away, Pei An An and the few students around her turned to each other.
“Shit, did Xie Li just smile at Pei An An?”
“He likes you, huh Pei An An?”
“Definitely! I was in Xie Li’s class last year and I’ve never seen him smile at anyone. No, let alone smile, he’s always reserved and doesn’t take a good look at anyone.”
Pei An An couldn’t stand the growing gossip around her. So she got up with a red face and quickly followed.
After the two left, the class discussion continued. The more the students talked about gossip, the more excited they became, until someone mentioned “Yu Rui” in the process.
They suddenly fell silent, remembering that there was another male lead in the rumored love triangle.
They all looked back.
Yu Rui was sitting by the window with headphones in his ears. He seemed to be concentrating on his work and did not seem to be disturbed by the outside world.
Someone laughed and said, “Come on, come on, if our Class President Yu has always wanted to be in a relationship, why would he wait until now? Real brainiacs don’t talk about petty loves, they only have the glorious and great cause of study in their hearts.”
The students nodded, and just by looking at Yu Rui’s appearance, they couldn’t agree more with this statement.
Elsewhere.
At the end of the hallway, Xie Li and Pei An An were facing each other. The man stood at a height of 180, with a handsome face that didn’t bother to show any expression, no less than the charming atmosphere the students had assumed.
There are no classrooms on this side of the building, only storage rooms on each floor, and students rarely take the stairs on this side, so there aren’t many people
It’s just that Xie Li is too famous. Plus the gossip about the “amazing love triangle” has become a big topic in the whole school these past couple of days. So if the students in the other classes see the two of them walking and stopping to talk, they can’t help but look out their classrooms to this side.
Xie Li was completely indifferent.
The reason he called the person was only because these words could not be heard by Yu Rui.
“Do you have a lot of questions?”
Pei An An, who had not yet recovered from blushing, tilted her head uncomprehendingly, “Huh?”
Xie Li, who had become listless immediately after losing sight of Yu Rui, looked at her, “It was said in the high school forum that you often asked Yu Rui questions throughout last year.”
“Ah…” Pei An An blushed a little more, “It’s just that, Yu Rui is the best student and he also teaches. He is also very gentle and patient, and he doesn’t get impatient when talking about the exercises, so….”
Xie Li narrowed his eyes slightly, a little annoyed: these were all things he had not yet experienced from Yu Rui.
… He had selectively forgotten that he had provoked Yu Rui with his “number two” a few days ago.
Xie Li frowned, “From now on, ask someone else.”
“Huh?” Pei An An looked at him in confusion.
Xie Li said, “Yu Rui was punished by Tian Xueqian last night, most likely because of your incident. Do you want to get him in trouble?”
The last question was light and airy, and Pei An An couldn’t hear a more obvious coldness towards her. She felt a little overwhelmed: apparently, Xie Li’s reasons and attitude for seeking her out were far from what she had imagined.
Pei An An said nothing for a while.
Xie Li had never been very patient with anyone but Yu Rui.
After waiting a few seconds, he decided that there was no ambiguity in what he had just said and that the young girl would have understood even if she was naive, so he lazily turned around and left.
Pei An An remained in the same place for a long time before she came to her senses again.
She heard Xie Li’s words and understood in her heart that unless Xie Li was the kind of man who was straight to death, she could hear it in those words right now: she meant nothing to him at all.
And that attitude…
Pei An An was so angry that she wanted to stomp her foot.
That Xie Li likes her? He was more likely to like Yu Rui than her.
Pei An An knew that Xie Li didn’t have feelings for her, but the others didn’t.
When she returned, some gossipers asked her what Xie Li had asked her out for. Naturally, Pei An An was too embarrassed to say that he had warned her not to get involved with Yu Rui, so she just mumbled about a small matter.
However, people’s ability to spread and process gossip has always been brilliant.
So at the end of the evening, the version that reached Yu Rui’s ears from various gossip channels was; “Xie Li took the first step and confessed his love to Pei An An, successfully winning her heart and the two quickly fell in love.”
During the evening study session, this news and the photos Yu Rui had seen earlier on Xie Li’s cell phone began to alternate and scroll in front of his eyes.
He was very upset.
He was by no means a moral guardian, and his upbringing had led him to be indifferent to many people and things that were irrelevant to him.
But Xie Li was different after all.
At the end of the penultimate afternoon study period, Yu Rui wanted to talk to Pei An An and ask for confirmation on the matter. But he didn’t notice that she was looking at him nervously and barely said a word to him before she quickly found an excuse to run out of the classroom.
Yu Rui was confused.
The sympathetic looks he received from the people around him left him even more confused. In desperation, he thought better of it and asked Tian Xueqian for permission and left the institute early.
Following his memory, Yu Rui rode his bicycle to the door of the Hip Hop Cyber Cafe.
The big led sign was shining brightly.
