Xiao Youning rested for a day at the medical center. Her body temperature was slowly returning to normal and occasionally she would have a low fever again, she just couldn’t stop coughing. The doctor said that if the high fever subsided, it was a clear indicator of improvement, and repeated low fever was normal, so take the medicine on time and slowly recover.

After getting this good news Jian Yin came over, saying they had important matters to deal with and had to set out on a journey back to the capital. They couldn’t delay any longer, so Xiao Youning and Yuan Guo had to prepare themselves for it.

Xiao Youning was very self-conscious. She had been helped several times by Ye Shen, she had no reason to let others delay their journey any longer. Not allowing him to wait, she said on the spot that she and Yuan Guo would follow after them and set out on the journey.

As soon as they came out of the medical shop, Xiao Youning wanted to get on a horse but was led by Jian Yin to the back of a carriage. Jian Yin pointed to the carriage driver and said, “A carriage has been hired for you.”

Xiao Youning looked at the unfamiliar carriage driver with a somewhat dazed look. She heard the hoofbeats of the horses in front of her and before she reacted and thanked Ye Shen, she saw Jian Yin raise the whip to drive the horses away. She could only stop and, not daring to delay for a moment, hold Yuan Guo’s hand to climb into the carriage.

When Jian Yin said hurry up, he really meant it.

This was only two days away from the capital, but he was so desperate to hurry forward that Xiao Youning’s heart was even more apologetic. She seemed to be delaying their very important matters.

It was also at this time that Xiao Youning had time to start thinking back to the point where she met Ye Shen. According to what Yuan Guo said, Ye Shen even had a Dao name, so she was certain that he didn’t fake being a Daoist priest. However, he was accompanied by a martial artist. He went out for a few days and now he was rushing back to the capital again. During this period, he did not get in touch with anybody.

So what was this Daoist priest doing away from the capital? How did he so coincidentally also stop over in that village?

Recalling the situation in the village, Xiao Youning remembered that when they left that night it was Jian Yin who drove the carriage… They were directly heading towards there, which meant they had a plan. Therefore, did Jian Yin and the Daoist priest also discover that there was something fishy about that village?

The village was also on fire. Did Jian Yin create the chaos to leave?

Xiao Youning suddenly found that she had ignored this issue for a long time. Frowning for a moment, she finally attributed it to Ye Shen and his underling having noticed first.

”

”

Thinking this way, Xiao Youning felt that Ye Shen was more and more kind-hearted. Before she explained everything to them, he didn’t care and brought them out of the village. She had to ask the Daoist priest in which Daoist temple he lived in, and when she returned to the capital, she would go and thank him heavily!

However, she didn’t expect that, along the way, even though she saw Ye Shen’s face, she could not say the words of thanks for several days.

The surrounding scenery was becoming more and more familiar. Xiao Youning had already distinguished that they had arrived near the northern outskirts of the capital, and they would soon be able to enter the city. Just when she was prepared to return to the capital, the carriage turned a corner, and when it stopped, she found herself in front of a Daoist temple. The plaque on the front door of the Daoist temple read Qingfeng Monastery, a very unremarkable little Daoist temple!

She hadn’t even heard of it or come to it in all her years in the capital.

She was still in the carriage looking out when Jian Yin in front of her had jumped out of the car. She also saw the familiar dark-colored Daoist robe and his very clean shoe tops.

“Daoist…” Xiao Youning hurriedly followed them out of the carriage.

Who knew that she would only see Ye Shen’s back, his long legs, and big steps had actually already taken him beyond the door of the Daoist temple, past a turn, until his figure could no longer be seen.

She stood still, frozen.

Once again, she didn’t get to say thank you to him.

Jian Yin took off the package from the carriage and carried it behind his back. Seeing both master and servant standing there stupidly, he said with some impatience, “You’re not following?”

Xiao Youning hurriedly answered and followed Jian Yin into the Taoist temple. After entering the Daoist temple, she finally saw the back of Ye Shen again, standing under a six arms wide large tree, with someone dressed as a Daoist nun standing in front of him. He was listening to what she was saying with his head down.

Xiao Youning thought she was mistaken, how could there be a Daoist nun here?

That Daoist nun said a few sentences and turned around to leave. Xiao Youning remembered what she had to do and trotted over. Her body still hadn’t yet recovered, she ran two steps and began to cough. Ye Shen, however, when she arrived took a step forward, appearing as if he’d walk away again.

She, with great difficulty, saw the person but couldn’t speak to him. With an impulse, she reached out to grab his wide-sleeved robe.

The force was so great that Ye Shen was pulled back half a step. A pair of strict looking peach blossom eyes contrasted with his sharp eyebrows as he glanced at her.
