Chapter 21

Up until now, there had been no significant mineral deposits within hundreds of miles of Tashir, so learning forging and mining here was not very popular among players. As a result, Khrus Silverbeard had no apprentices to this day. Just as a large number of merchant ships that had been passing through Tashir had left, the number of customers coming to the blacksmith's shop to forge equipment had sharply decreased, making Khrus particularly idle. The sunny noon was a perfect time for a nap—had it not been for the human thief standing before him.
Without much effort, Fang Yi arrived at the largest blacksmith's shop in Tashir—Anvil and Dagger. Fang Yi casually glanced back, having deliberately taken a large detour to this alley, and the two tails behind him were following closely. With a cold laugh, Fang Yi pretended to be nonchalant and stepped into the blacksmith's shop.
Holding the Night's Gift that Fang Yi had handed over, the dwarf blacksmith looked at Fang Yi in surprise, "Adventurer, the quality of this weapon is quite good. What quality of equipment do you want?"
"Ordinary is fine. How long will it take?"
"Hmm... come back in half an hour. Pay 5 silver coins first."
Fang Yi couldn't help but click his teeth. His charisma was really working, making the price over 20% higher than the normal rate.
Reluctantly, he took out the money and handed it to the dwarf, smiling, "Old man, there's no one here, I'll just wait here~" With the owner's approval, Fang Yi found a spot to sit and watched the dwarf work, glancing out the window and smirking to himself, wondering how long they would keep tailing him.
During this time, the two players dressed as thieves pretended to be customers and entered the blacksmith's shop, chatting hesitantly with the old dwarf before quickly leaving.
The local gang's acting wasn't too bad—after all, they had removed their guild emblems—but did they really need to hide their identities from a player who had never been to Tashir before? Fang Yi couldn't help but muse.
Half an hour later, Fang Yi stepped out of the blacksmith's shop, and the two people who had been tailing him were long gone. After all, in the game, half an hour could be used for many things, and no one would waste their time like that. Fang Yi patted the leather scabbards of the curved sword and dagger at his waist and quickly walked toward the center of Tashir, where the largest temple of the God of Justice, Tyr, was located.
A white marble tower stood on the edge of the square in the center of Tashir. At the top of the tower, a large blue shield with a warhammer standing upright and a balanced scale of justice—Tyr's holy symbol—shone with divine light, symbolizing Tyr's ever-watchful gaze over the world. Fang Yi looked at the grand temple and the blue shield, knowing he had reached his destination.
Tyr's temple was one of the most popular places for players to visit among all the temples of Faerûn. As long as one wasn't a red-named player, the temple provided various paid but cheap services, including lodging, carriages, healing, and even various equipment. Paladins of Tyr and clerics who worshiped the God of Justice could also learn divine spells here (Note 2).
Fang Yi walked through the bustling temple hall and familiarly made his way to the side hall of the main hall—the Hall of Law. During the beta test, after Fang Yi's warrior classed as a gladiator, Tyr was one of the deities he could choose to worship. However, the role-playing atmosphere of Tyr's warriors was too strong, and their actions in Faerûn were heavily restricted, so Fang Yi chose the God of Strength, Kord. Nevertheless, he was still very familiar with the layout of Tyr's temple.
The layout of Tyr's temple was fixed. In this Hall of Law, the locally compiled *Endless Law* and the list of the temple's paladins were recorded, available for the common people to seek help (NPCs only). Fang Yi found a knight's roster on the tall bookshelf and sat down to read it.
However, the more Fang Yi read, the more he felt something was off. The scale of Tyr's temple in Tashir was not very large, and the list included only 52 names, even including the lowest-ranked squire, but there was not a single name related to the Silent Knight or anything similar. Fang Yi carefully read through the list again, confirming that the title mentioned in the bark was not on it.
Holding the list, Fang Yi walked to the entrance of the Hall of Law and bowed to the stone-faced guard knight, "Honorable Sir Knight, I have some questions I would like you to answer."
The tall guard knight nodded slightly and looked down at Fang Yi, "Ah, a follower of Mask, may the power of justice clear the fog before you. What questions do you have, adventurer?"
While exchanging formalities with the guard knight, Fang Yi glanced at the monk who had just walked over. What are you doing, stretching your neck so long? Don't you know that player-NPC conversations are protected by the system? Do you have a perception of 100?
Fang Yi found it amusing. This guy was too amateur, not even removing his guild emblem. The hand of *World Domination* was indeed long. The forum had already exposed that *World Domination* was planning to establish a guild base in the west gate. Now, after encountering their team near Pross, they were tailing him again. It didn't take much to figure out there was something fishy.
Ignoring the monk, Fang Yi continued to chat with the guard knight, holding the knight's roster, "It's like this, I have a friend who once had a friend in Tashir called the Silent Knight, said to be a noble knight of the God of Justice, Tyr. I was entrusted to find this old friend, but I couldn't find such a person on the knight's roster."
"Your friend... knows the Silent Knight?" The stone-faced guard knight actually showed a look of surprise, then solemnly said, "Your friend must be a respected elder! Please wait a moment." Ignoring the puzzled look on Fang Yi's face, the knight turned and walked into the corridor leading to the main hall.
Seeing a glimmer of hope, Fang Yi touched the Loyalty's Lament in his bag, wondering if the original owner of this equipment was already a high-level character. If so, this quest was likely a chain quest.
A moment later, the knight returned and bowed to Fang Yi, "Lord Somanthu invites you in."
The knight led Fang Yi to a spacious room and then left. Fang Yi looked at the handsome middle-aged man standing before him, rubbing his eyes in disbelief. The old man looked Fang Yi up and down and smiled, "Young adventurer, it seems your friend didn't tell you my name."
Fang Yi inwardly cursed, of course, he knew his name. Wearing emerald full plate armor, with a distinctive longsword—*Icetooth* and *Exterminator*—hanging at his waist, and emerald green eyes, the most crucial feature was the prominent, pointed ears. The man before him was one of the most famous knights of Tyr in Faerûn, the Hand of Justice, the male elf El Somanthu. Despite his middle-aged appearance, Somanthu was actually nearly 500 years old.
According to the official website, a few years ago, this ranger from the Cormyr Empire turned to the God of Justice, Tyr, and became a knight. During the time when the Red Wizards of Thay were rampant, he almost single-handedly slaughtered all the Red Wizards in the city of Bosk. It wasn't until several decades later, the year the game began, that the Red Wizards of the Sword Coast had recovered. It was said that after a fierce battle with a wicked red dragon named Jhammet on the Pirate Isles, Somanthu disappeared. Fang Yi never knew that Somanthu had once had the low-key yet impressive title of Silent Knight.
Note 1: After each class change, the system provides a matching deity. Players can choose to worship a deity and use certain divine spells, also known as advanced skills, such as the assassin's disguise, the arcane knight's additional spell slots, and the weapon master's sharpening, etc.
