Chapter 56

Just wanted to write about the status effects in Shanfuro and about fossils.

【DOT Warrior】Status Effect User Board Part 16【The Morning of the Poisoner is Early】

534: Scolding Fan

I wish they would cut out the resistance to status effect accumulation after the second time.

535: Cantarella

The best solution is to increase the variety of poisons or boost their output...

536: Positron

Increase the number of attacks regularly.

537: Rebeck

What is a DOT Warrior? Are they like tanks or healers?

528: Cantarella

Damage over Time, in short, it's a group of players who mainly use attacks that deal continuous damage over time, like poison damage.

529: Scolding Fan

For the sake of new players and confirmation, I've summarized the main status effects currently in Shanfuro:

Poison: Gradually reduces the opponent's HP by 5% over a certain period, but the damage amount varies depending on the opponent's poison resistance. In the worst case, it might deal zero damage even if the poison status is applied.

Toxic: A more potent version of poison with higher damage but a shorter DOT duration.

Paralysis: Stops the opponent's movement for a certain period. There are two types, one derived from electricity and the other from poison, but they share the same paralysis resistance. What a pain.

Burn: A hybrid of poison and paralysis, dealing less DOT damage than poison but slowing the opponent's movement. It might seem mediocre, but players who have been burned in the new continent's forest will know its terrifying power.

Freeze: A relatively rare status effect, as there are few monsters that can create high-level ice weapons. It's mostly used by mages with ice spells (which are also rare). It causes slip damage when the target moves vigorously, a unique DOT.

Destructive Poison: There's a destruction attribute in Shanfuro that directly destroys the opponent's body. This is the poison version. It can be applied by weapons like those of the bees in the Thousand Colors and Ten Thousand Reds forest cave, but it generally doesn't affect higher-level targets.

Refined Poison: Most DOT Warriors rely on this miracle poison. It can be created by alchemist or pharmacist jobs. The DOT mechanism is similar to poison and paralysis, but it has a separate resistance, allowing the same status effect to be applied twice at maximum accumulation.

530: Positron

Good work. I've heard that if you delve deep into "recovery," it might turn into DOT, but I'm skeptical. The source is unclear.

531: Rebeck

To be honest, it doesn't seem very strong?

532: Pelican

That's a taboo.

533: Cantarella

That's why this board is so deserted. We mostly know each other here.

534: Scolding Fan

There are reportedly still undiscovered DOTs besides the ones listed here. The most notable example is Tsuchinoko's Crystal Punch.

535: Rebeck

I've heard of Tsuchinoko, but what's Crystal Punch?

536: Positron

Tsuchinoko's gauntlet, when used at full power, converts the struck area into crystal and shatters it. It's likely made from the materials of the Crystal Scorpion, but it's said to be a destructive poison or another status effect.

537: Pelican

But I doubt it can accumulate in one hit. It might just be a visual effect.

538: Scolding Fan

More concerning is the raid monster that attacked Third Rema. It apparently controlled diseases.

539: Rebeck

I fought it, and it was a real pain for high-level players.

540: Cantarella

But that "increasingly dangerous status effect as level increases" is something we DOT Warriors desperately want.

541: Sand Futon

【Breaking News】Fossil weapon discovered with unknown status effect【Hyper Immunity: Fish】

542: Positron

!?

543: Pelican

Details?

544: Sand Futon

I just met Jet Liner, and he had a weapon made from fossils by a friend (probably a master craftsman). The effect causes a strange flinching motion and weakens the target's flesh. Accumulation becomes harder after the second time, but he's heading into the forest to test it further, so I'm posting this on his behalf.

545: Positron

Hyper immunity means an allergy, right?

546: Scolding Fan

You become an allergy too!!!!!

547: Cantarella

Like smacking a pollen-covered cedar branch into the face of someone who doesn't have hay fever.

548: Rebeck

What about fossils?

549: Pelican

Did you go straight to the mud digging spot?

550: Sand Futon

It subtly references DEX and TEC, so low stats yield nothing.

551: Cantarella

I thought fossils just made weapons and armor look like fossils, but I didn't know they could have attributes for top-tier jobs.

552: Positron

If it's hyper immunity to fish, there must be others, like hyper immunity to dragons.

553: Pelican

The problem is that it's incredibly random.

554: Scolding Fan

There are probably regular attributes too, so it's a real ordeal... I envy Jet Liner.

555: Sand Futon

I'm going to negotiate with a fossil-digging clan to see if they have anything similar.

556: Cantarella

Thanks, Sand Futon. You're the hope of DOT Warriors.

557: Rebeck

I'm starting to want to become a DOT Warrior.

558: Positron

First, get the pharmacist job, young one.

Fossil Attribute

An ancient attribute that once belonged to extinct monsters. Ancient black lightning might also fall under this category, but here it refers to attributes granted by excavated fossils.

Usually, using fossils as materials doesn't grant attributes; they just create weapons and armor that look like fossils. However, skilled blacksmiths can occasionally revive ancient powers (technically, even low-level blacksmiths can grant attributes, but the probability is extremely low).

Sometimes, this can result in unknown status effects like those mentioned, or attributes similar to those in the modern world. If you can pull the thread of fortune, you might obtain terrifying power.

Specifically, in the old continent, the outer shells of primordial beasts drop materials from ancient monsters. Not just resource beasts, but primordial beasts!!!
